As all good things must come to an end, so must our shakedown cruise. It was hard to tear ourselves away from one of our new favorite spots on the east side of Peanut Island, but we knew there was still a lot of boat work to be completed before hurricane season finishes, and it would be fastest and easiest to do back at Indiantown Marina. Heading north on the ICW we were met with three timed bridges which kept us on our toes, trying to time our arrival perfectly, although usually arriving 10 minutes early. Fighting a two knot current that was trying to push us into the bridges, it made for some hectic moments, but we survived. Pulling out the headsail past Jupiter, we had a nice sail up the coast for as long as the wind would allow it. Cheers from our shakedown! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. In this episode I will open a Gazelle Innergy li-ion battery pack. This is a more recent battery and has higher capacity cells in it. The average capacity of the cells salvaged from this battery was about 2250 mah tested on the Opus. And that's times 50!!! Ebike battery packs from more recent bikes have higher capacity cells, so the newer the pack, the higher the possibly tested capacity. Often these battery packs go faulty due to BMS failure. This results in battery packs with 50 good cells.

Ankunft in Bangkok. Kaum zu glauben war für uns, nach 6 Wochen Sri Lanka, dass wir ohne Gehupe, Gedrängel oder sonstige hektische Verkehrssituation in geordneter Weise und entspannt um 15:30 Uhr in der Khaosan Road ankamen. Was war das Fahren in Bangkok doch für eine Wohltat! Nachdem wir uns im Rooftop Pool des Khaosan Road Palace abgekühlt hatten, packte uns die Neugierde und wir tauchten bis zum späten Abend im Gewühle der Khaosan Road ab. Endlich konnten wir Leckereien der Garküchen ausprobieren und unsere ersten thailändischen Gerichte kosten. Selbstverständlich als erstes den Klassiker : Phan Tai Egg. IMO's Interactive Workshop on General Principles of Drafting National Legislation to Implement IMO Conventions, was held at IMO Headquarters in London (18-22 September 2017).

WE FINALLY LEFT OREGON! We have spent 5 years preparing for this trip and now we are finally on our way! We spent all our energy on getting Turtle ready for ocean crossings, that we neglected to pay attention to the truck and trailer that would be hauling our sailboat to the other side of the country. Now that we have all the problems fixed we can now continue on to the Bahamas! Just in case you haven't been following our journey so far, here is a list of our attempts to leave: 1. It snowed 2. The trailer brakes were not sufficient 3. We lost a tire off the trailer while driving down the road 4. High winds made us have to turn back around 5. We lost the trailer off the hitch while driving and we also broke down on a mountain and had to get towed down 6. The truck needed a new alternator and battery 7. The trailer axel spun loose and we needed all new suspension For good things to happen, one must put in the work and effort to make it happen. We didn't wake up one day and say hey lets go on vacation to the Bahamas on a sailboat, and magically we were there. No, it took us 5 years of working multiple full time jobs, saving money, working on endless boat upgrades and refits, learning how to sail on rough waters and setting goals. At this point of our journey we are just hoping we can make it to Florida. We haven't done anything this epic before and to be honest we have no idea what to expect! On Sunday 24 September many of our members attended our annual working bee, to get the clubhouse, yard area and marina in ship shape for opening and the summer sailing season. Thank you to all those who attended and volunteered their time. We greatly appreciate your help and dedication in taking care of our club. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? Aston Martin have launched a Power Boat! The AM37!!! I could not believe my eyes at the Cannes Yachting Festival last week when I saw a finished Aston Martin AM37 on the water. This is far more than just a branding exercise by Aston Martin, they have been heavily involved with the design of this boat and commissioned Quintessence Yachts to build it in the UK, to a Mulder Design hull. I hope to produce a more detailed video of the AM37 later this year, but in the meantime... here is the first ever Aston Martin power boat! On this episode of Sailing Vessel Triteia I finally get to bring my new-to-me Yanmar 2gm20f diesel engine to the boat! But first, some footage of me painting the engine bay and hooking up the bilge pump hoses. Then come a few stressful clips of me trying to get her out of my truck alone, rolling her down the dock and finally flying her into my boat. Some of this is Slow TV but I wanted to leave a lot of the footage in there in case anyone out there is thinking of doing this and is nervous about process. Using the boom and a come-along ended up being such a great way to do this making it very simple as long as you go slow. This is part 1 of 3 (I think) episodes of me hooking up the engine. The next episode will show me trying to get the prop shaft aligned correctly, address a packing nut issue and then on to hooking the system up in the following videos. Amici miei, con questo mio pseudo video, ho cominciato a fare un primo bilancio di questi miei cento giorni passati in mare. Ho citato solo alcune delle persone che ho incontrato e non altre. E non perché sono le più importanti, ma perché erano, come dire?, funzionali a quello che volevo dirvi. Ma un abbraccio forte lo vorrei mandare ai "matti" del Tamata, un circolo nautico di Catania, dove sono stato praticamente adottato e dove spero di tornare presto. Un grazie anche ad Ivo Blandina che su richiesta di Concetta De Pasquale (a proposito, andate a vedere la sua mostra sulle Rotte di Colapesce che c'è a Palermo) mi ha ospitato al Marina del Nettuno, a Messina. E un grazie ad Arcangelo Dragone, che ha fatto lo stesso nelle sue strutture di Vibo Valentia. E come non citare Antonio Mantovano, che mi ha accolto a Cetraro e Paolo Oliva a Pozzuoli. E per restare qui, grazie ad un comune amico, Pippo Gristina, ho conosciuto Costantino Montella e Adele Gagliardi, una coppia con la quale si è aperto un rapporto che, ne sono certo, proseguirà e si rafforzerà anche in futuro. E un grazie particolare ad una mia amica che, da lontano, mi ha fatto compagnia ogni giorno e spesso, con il suo buon umore, mi ha dato forza e coraggio per andare avanti. E un grazie a tanti altri, che citerò in questi giorni. Se sono riuscito a percorrere oltre mille miglia lo devo davvero a tante, tante belle persone.
