In this vlog we travel to the Annapolis Sailboat Show. We walkthrough boats, talk to fans, and enjoy a relaxing day in our element. This is actually the 2nd time we've been to this boat show. The first time was right before hurricane Mathew back in 2016 - right around the time we bought our Endeavour 32. It was cold and rainy that year. This time the weather was much more pleasant. We spent most of out time just wandering around, looking at all the fancy boats, and talking with a whole lot of good folks that enjoy our videos. There's a wonderful vibe at these shows. So many great people who all share the passion of sail. I've tried to make this video have a slower pace. Not a whole lot of ambient music and punchy effects throughout. I wanted to try to show people what it's like to casually enjoy the show - tour some cool boats - and give the feeling like they're actually there. That's the intent, anyways - I hope it's enjoyable. The reason we decided to keep the boat in Charleston is that it is above the hurricane belt and famous for its mild winters. Yeah, right. Herausgekommen ist der knapp einstündige Film "Die Reise der Ivalu", der einen kleinen Einblick in die Weltumsegelung gibt. Voici le 12e Episode de notre voyage sur l'eau. Après avoir travaillé pendant 8 mois en Guadeloupe nous repartons en voyage avec notre nouveau voilier. Nous avons vendu notre fidéle compagnon qui devenait un peu trop petit pour nous et avons racheté un voilier plus grand de 39 pieds. Nous naviguons donc maintenant sur Kalia un Gibsea 392. Nous sommes donc partis pour faire un tour des iles proches de la Guadeloupe afin de tester le bateau et de voir ce qu'il y avait à modifier ou changer. Nous avons rejoins nos amis du voilier Tanguara à Marie Galante pour fêter la nouvelle année avec eux. Nous avons passés 1 semaine au mouillage dans la baie de St louis. Nous avons visité l'ile en scooter et enchainé les partis de pêche et de chasse sous marine.

Our 3 new sails are beautiful! But getting them was not so beautiful! Sailing to Athens to pick them up (and drop a guest off at the airport) when there is a storm running, is something that a sailor never wants to be forced to do. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! Each hill you crest and every corner you turn reveals a more splendid view than that last.

We continue working on S/V Gone with the Wind. We begin on the exterior of the sailboat in the cockpit with primer and paint. Ashes rain from the sky, preventing us from painting. Shawn constructs a new instrument panel for the helm. Video uploads will now be every other Thursday. We take off for our very first 3 day about 390 nautical miles journey in south Caribbean. On the journey we fly ballooned sail (for a very first time as well) and we rip it :( Of course that had to happen at night as well... But we made it to Bonaire and also caught nice Mahi mahi!
