Heading North but it all goes south. We continue our journey North as we need to get to the boatyard in Whangarei to get some work done. The weather does not play ball and we end up having to head south to Waiheke island. Some playful dolphins distract us on the trip. Over the course of the next few days we manage to get anchored outside the boatyard ramp with time to spare. Race Day 3 brought breezy conditions to the sailboat regatta once again, as competitors raced the passage back from Andratx to the Real Club Náutico de Palma in 25 to 30 knot winds. Cruising around ELOW CAY, BAHAMAS, Winning a Race, and Party at HOPETOWN INN!! This week we hit the race course for Race 1 of Regatta Time Abaco. We're of course racing in the cruiser fleet, which around here they call the Mothertub! Lol. Which is about right since we're all loaded down with all the extra weight and just general stuff all cruisers carry. That said, we manage a pretty kickass race considering we were the slowest rated boat in the fastest Mothertub fleet! We then kick back for some more chill sailing life in Hopetown, Bahamas, before heading to the beautiful Hopetown Inn and Marina for the after race party...and to pick up a little hardware! :-) We enjoy the free rum while Rivers makes some new girlfriends in the pool. Canary Island to Cape Verde Passage - Our first catch - Sailing Nipe EP 04 At last we manage to get a fish on board not loose them with line and lure. Every fish so far all the way from Sweden have taken line and lure so we were very happy when we manage to bring a fine Mahi Mahi on board. Very good passage we sail all the way, we did 800 nm in 5 days. No rain only good wind and beautiful weather.
