Maybe they should change that B.O.A.T. saying to “bonded or about to.” The hardest part of our rudder drop was getting the stinking quadrant off! Heat, impact, cheater bars, nothing would work. So, the creative guys at www.perdidosailor.com had to come up with a different fix, and boy did they! Ahoy crew! Shipyard Vid #2 coming at you from Cascias, Portugal nonetheless!  I put this video together a while back so you all would have something fun to watch while we were embarking on our second Atlantic-crossing helping deliver a new Lagoon across the pond from France to the USVIs!  I know how you all LOVE boat project videos, so here’s another one for you from our interesting work at the shipyard this past summer.   While I wrote about this project several months back here (https://havewindwilltravel.com/2018/08/14/shipyard-project-2-removing-the-quadrant-bonded-bolts-and-other-obstacles/), some of my followers love to see the video!  So, this one’s for you! Phillip and I always enjoy working alongside the guys at the yard because we learn so much. They point out problems we didn’t even know we had and teach us fixes we didn’t even know were possible. Watch here as we (finally!) get the quadrant off and make the necessary modifications to do that, check on our G-flexed keel seam from 2016, replace the cables for the throttle and shifter (because, according to Video Annie, they sounded like “Grandma’s panties coming down”), and shared some fun lighthearted joshing at the yard! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Continuamos nossa Expedição Paraty explorando a costa dos fiordes e parando em lugares que queríamos presenciar. Já havíamos visto algumas fotos da Praia do Engenho, por isso quisermos ver de perto. Para chegar até lá, ancora-se na Praia Grande, praia que possui um estaleiro bastante rudimentar a céu aberto, bem interessante. A roda é realmente lida, dá para imaginar o tamanho do engenho em funcionamento. De lá partimos para o Saco do Bom Jardim, uma grata surpresa! Essa ancoragem vai ficar entre as mais preferidas de Paraty para pernoitar! Além das águas calmas, é possível subir no forte e desfrutar uma vista lindíssima. Realmente um lugar especial.

Herby and Maddie leave Horta, Faial, and set sail for Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira. The winds were more favorable than predicted and we managed to sail the distance in 22 hours instead of the predicted 30 to 36 hours! Upon arriving in Terceira, they prepare Wisdom for being hauled out as they prepare to fly back to the states to visit family for a while. Bonita is back on Nandji, I have overstayed my visa... Must be time to sail! Of course something goes wrong... https://www.sailingnandji.com This week on Sailing Nandji, Bonita returns back to Dili, after a 3 week trip to Australia for medical and family reasons. Given the all clear from anything life threatening, she hurried back to Nandji and we set about getting everything in order ready to leave. We get a Social visa for Indonesia, Load up on food and water and chase down our new Lithium batteries from ReLion. After a little confusion with paperwork, of course nothing is easy, we finally get our batteries on board and set some sails south. Our destination, Kupang, in Indonesia. Not having the luxury of waiting for a weather window as I had overstayed my visa, we head to sea in a 200nm upwind sail. Arriving to Kupang, the Nandji tradition of something going wrong upon arrival continues... NANDJI"S NEW MOTOR We reached our target for getting Nandji a new engine! YEW! Thanks to everyone who helped us on this mission to upgrade Nandji and prepare her for next years adventures! It’s been an emotional week with Chasing Stars leaving, Rob returning and near misses in the marina. Rob’s last week in NZ was pretty hectic too. He went home for The Waikato 100 water sports race on the Waikato River and also got to spend time with our dog Del who is defying the vets prognosis that she would be dead by July. Del has an aggressive mast cell cancer, but her clean living lifestyle on Mike and Mady’s farm in the Waikato appears to be agreeing with her. Big heartfelt thanks to Mike and Mady for looking after Del so well. Dare I say it, we owe Finn a debt of gratitude. His quick thinking save's the day.
