Anchoring is always a different challenge. Conditions always vary, especially in Cape Verde. And in this case Tarrafal do Santiago. There was swell and many rocks below the surface and not much sand for the anchor to stick. But we managed, and thanks to a wonderful family of Pirates, we were able to go ashore a few days. We went to visit Praia, Cape Verde's capital city. It's not recommended to anchor in the bay of Praia. Even the police say it's best to leave your boat in Tarrafal and go to the city by car. Which is what we did. A two hour ride across the entire island from North to South. The weather was amazing so the views of the dramatic landscape were spectacular. Once in Praia, we rented an apartment thanks to our friend Carlos in an upscale suburb of the city and visited the city's center. Once again, Cape Verde never ceases to amaze me. Binnen kürzester Zeit hatte sich ein etwas furchteinflößender Seegang gebildet und wir surften auf den Wellen mit bis über 13 Knoten Geschwindigkeit. Unglaublich, aber seht selbst! Catching BIG Wahoo whilst sailing in the most Perfect conditions... Life is good Ladies & Gentlemen https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we depart the Turtle islands and head north up the west coast of Sumatra on our way back to Thailand. Our destination is the island of Sabang, the north western most point of Indonesia where we plan to clear out of the country. The trip up the coast had some bad wet weather to start but this only lead into some of the funniest smoothest and fastest sailing we have had for a while! Champagne sailing ladies & gentlemen. Nandji was gliding along at great speeds, fast enough to have the fishing line scream and we catch the BIGGEST Wahoo we have ever caught! IT was that big the local fishing boats came from everywhere! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we have returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning as we plan to sail our Nandji around the world!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! Season 5 Episode 102: Monterey to Marina del Rey We are BEYOND excited to bring you this episode this week because its the LAST EPISODE of our Yacht Delivery Chronicles "MV DRAGON LADY" season!!!!!! What a wild ride its been! We are looking forward to getting back to actual sailing videos and videos of us refitting SV Triteia! On this episode we explore the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and spend sometime on Cannery Row before pushing off for our last passage of the delivery! Captain Dave's wife and James' old friend Samantha drove up from LA to join us on this last leg of the trip. We had a wonderfully uneventful night and were greeted with countless whale sightings at sunrise near Point Conception. Camille took in the Southern California sun with some nude sunbathing on the upper deck and we were happy to feel its warmth after so much time in the Pacific Northwest. But Poseidon had one more treat in store for us. Less than two hours from home we ran into a massive fog bank slowing our pace to a crawl and forcing us to steer by radar alone the rest of the way in. Black lion au mouillage de l'île de Moreton en Australie! L'île de Moreton est une île de sable d'environ 38 kilomètres de long et 10 kilomètres de large. Le point culminant est le mont tempête, avec 278 mètres. L'île est connue pour ses nombreuses dunes de sables, dont l'une est réputée être la plus haute au monde. Aujourd'hui, parc national, elle voit un fort développement touristique. Je reconnais bien là mon fiston ! Si nous ne le poussons pas un peu, voir beaucoup, il attendrait patiemment que le vent et les vaguelettes qui sont à l’origine de notre mouillage agité, cessent, pour descendre à terre ! Remarque, son capitaine n’est pas mieux ! Et quand l’annexe, presque bichée, prévient qu’il est temps d’ancrer et de continuer à pied, ils seraient bien fichus tous deux de renoncer à la découverte des dunes de Moreton. Pour éviter de faire trempette, tout y passe, de l’excuse bidon : je n’ai pas de claquette, à celle élaborée affirmant sans hésitation la présence de mollusques très dangereux dans les fonds. Reconnaissons toute fois que des bêtes étranges tapissent la berge et qu’avec la brise un peu soutenue, quand le niveau de l’eau arrive au-dessus des genoux, nous sommes tentés de pointer le bout de nos pieds pour que le froid saisissant ne se propage pas plus haut … Rien de telles que des jambes vivifiées, pour raviver notre commando et donner de l’élan à une grimpette dunaire. Nous voilà donc entre mer et désert à crapahuter les monticules de sable, qui donnent à l’île de Moreton sa particularité. Il parait qu’aux delà de ses éten-dues sableuses, le javeau abrite sous la végétation, kangourous et koalas. Certes en cette belle journée de vendredi, les marsupiaux ne se sont pas montrés mais j’ai pu contenter mon âme de gamine ! Équipée d’une planche de body et de toute mon énergie, je me suis adonnée sans réserve au plaisir de la glisse pendant que Cyril, pas du tout moqueur, comme tout le monde le sait, attendait derrière sa gopro, la chute fatale qui amènerait à une hilarité générale.

Black lion à Kowan kowan en Australie! Les huit milles suivants, nous positionnent à Kowan-kowan, toujours sur l'île de Moreton. Et si nous doutions sur le jour de la semaine, la précipitation de fréquentation massive nous pousse à penser que nous sommes en week-end ou en vacances scolaire, voir même les deux ! Nous sommes assaillis de toute part d’engins motorisés ; des hélicoptères, des avions… Tout y passe, du bateau de luxe à la petite plate alu, du ferry au jet ski … Des convois de super yachts à la file indienne viennent se parader le long de Tangalooma resort, club privé où il est interdit d’entrer sans y être invité. Sur des kilomètres de plage, des 4x4, tous plus gros les uns que les autres, et équipés du parfait attirail de campement ! Pas n’importe quel équipement, tout y est ! La tente douche, les panneaux solaire et bien sûr le BBQ… Car, comme en Afrique du Sud, le BBQ en Australie fait partie de la culture, tellement bien que dans les jardins publics, les parcs ou les bords de mer des barbecues à gaz impeccablement entretenus sont à disposition gratuitement !

Ετσι στα Προπύλαια του Ζαππείου στολίστηκαν από το ιταλικό Riva Aquariva Cento που φρόντισε η Ekka Yachts ως Χρυσός χορηγός. Το σκάφος, συνώνυμο της φινέτσας πλαισιώθηκε από το μέλλον της αυτοκίνητης το ηλεκτρικό Mercedes EQC. Όλα τα φώτα της δημοσιότητας έλαμψαν και φώτισαν μια σπουδαία και πολυεπίπεδη βιομηχανία, όπως αυτή του Σκάφους Αναψυχής και του Θαλάσσιου Τουρισμού. Μια βιομηχανία που τροφοδοτεί πολλές και διαφορετικές αγορές. Μια γόνιμη πλατφόρμα προβολής της χώρας μας σε όλο τον κόσμο. Παρών, στηρίζοντας την εκδήλωση και αναγνωρίζοντας την υπεραξία του χώρου του Yachting για την οικονομία και τον τουρισμό της χώρας μας, ήταν και ο Υπουργός Ναυτιλίας και Νησιωτικής Πολιτικής κ. Γιάννης Πλακιωτάκης ο οποίος ανακοίνωσε ότι στην επόμενη χρονιά ο χώρος του θαλάσσιου τουρισμού θα έχει μια πολύ διαφορετική εικόνα «H Ελλάδα με τις μαγευτικές της θάλασσες και την πολυνησία της θεωρείτε η «Μέκκα» του θαλάσσιου τουρισμού και αυτός θα πρέπει να είναι ο στόχος μας την επόμενη χρονιά. Από την επόμενη χρονιά η Ελλάδα να καταστεί το κέντρο του παγκοσμίου yachting. Για έναν τομέα ο οποίος συμβάλλει αποφασιστικά στην παραγωγή πλούτου της πατρίδας μας και μπορεί να συμβάλλει ακόμα περισσότερο. Χρειάζεται όμως η μείωση της γραφειοκρατίας η απλοποίηση των διαδικασιών αλλά και αλλαγή νοοτροπίας και απενοχοποίησης του κλάδου. Εμείς σαν Υπουργείο ναυτιλίας προωθούμε ένα απλό νομοθετικό πλαίσιο. Ανοιχτές θάλασσες για όλους, σύμφωνα όμως με το ελληνικό και κοινωνικό κεκτημένο. Συνεργασία με τα συναρμόδια υπουργεία. Τουρισμού και Οικονομικών. Εκσυγχρονισμό του μητρώου πλοίων και φυσικά χρειαζόμαστε περισσότερες μαρίνες. Κάτι ακόμα που χρειαζόμαστε είναι ποιοτικά εκπαιδευμένο προσωπικό άρα ποιοτική αναβάθμιση στις ναυτικές μας ακαδημίες. Χρειαζόμαστε έναν νέο κύκλο σπουδών που να παράγει εξειδικευμένα στελέχη για το χώρο του yachting. Στον χώρο του Θαλασσίου Τουρισμού την επόμενη χρονιά θα τα αλλάξουμε όλα».
