sailing with new crew Lows and Highs (Rainy Days and ROOKIE Crew). We leave Suva on a very grey and miserable day, but enjoy a pleasant downwind sail towards Pacific Harbour, where we are picking up our friends Richard and Cushla. They join us for a few days aboard and we escape the marina to head towards Beqa Island. The sun finally shows it face, so we enjoy some snorkelling and some of Rich's VERY large gin and tonics. We also see evidence of the pumice raft that has floated on the oceans currents all the way from Tonga. It was caused by an eruption of an underwater volcano back in August. Its not nearly as big as it was then, but there's still an awful lot of it around. After a few days of fun in the sun, yet another low is forecast, so we have to head back towards Pacific Harbour earlier than intended. Such a shame, but we have a flight to catch...... We departed the Reef Islands soon after our friends on Freya, sailing past the Tinakula Volcano. On the third day we sighted Santa Ana Island and anchored in Mary Bay. On the way here we had further problems with our engine stopping (later diagnosed as a dirty fuel) and our fishing lure that we were trailing wrapping around the propellor and rudder. We took a trip to the other side of the island to see Kustom Spirit House and its collection of skulls and bones from previous chiefs that were kept there.

Thailand is hot spot for tourism, but is it possible to find some seclusion from the masses? I think we scored!!! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we utilise the sunny days in Thailand and explore some of the many islands there are on offer. The sailing grounds in Thailand are amazing and we are blessed with smooth, easy and fun sailing. The problem is that other tourist boats are only a short boat ride away from the land and therefore we have to be in quick if we want to beat the masses. Part of the enjoyment of living on a sailboat is to find seclusion, away from everyone and everything. Thailand makes that hard, but we tried and we won!!! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we have returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning as we plan to sail our Nandji girl around the world!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! Our 3 month sailing hiatus has come to an end as we prepare to set sail for our season 2 adventures aboard WE|Sail. We set sail from Rio Dulce in Guatemala and head for the port town of Livingston to check out and finally smell the salty air. The last few months being tucked away in Rio Dulce was magical. We got to explore some stunning gems of Guatemala and adventure inland as much as we could. After, some small boat projects and many bon voyage dinners with our new friends, we set out for the salty seas. However, Guatemala was hanging on as long as it could and wasn't about to let us go easily. We lose our windlass the morning we "tried" to lift anchor. You could say that our season wasn't starting off on the right foot, but we weren't going to let that hold us back from leaving. Our trip out of the Rio Dulce was, in our opinion the only way it should be done, with friends, music, laughs and breathtaking scenery. We had the most proper send off from Guatemala by the entourage of friends who joined us for the journey out to sea. We thank Pamela & Sheldon and the entire crew of Boatique who made our feel right at home in their beautiful hotel and marina tucked in the jungle of Rio Dulce. It was a wonderful experience to stay in this know hideout for our first hurricane season. A do not miss on anyones travel agenda. All the music in this episode was recorded and filmed on the boat. After last weeks video about how we got Saoirse our 38' Island Spirit catamaran to the water and into the water we now take you through us putting up our mast and motoring across to Club Mykonos.

We install a Harken MKIV Unit 0 roller furler on a 28-foot Pearson Triton. The size of the furler model depends on your headstay diameter. We are using 7/32" wire. If you have 1/4" wire you need to go one size up to Unit 1. Parts list below: Roller furler, headstay components and halyard restrainer (riggingonly.com): 1. Harken MKIV Unit 0 Furling System w/o Toggle Assembly 7410.10. 2. Harken MKIV Unit 0 Eye/Jaw Reversible Toggle Assy, 7/16" clevis pin 7410.20 7/16. 3. Welcome to our channel. We are family with special needs kids who like to hang out with some great friends. My best friend, Denise, and I have recently turned 40', and we are looking to find '40 fun things' to do in Southern California with our kids in tow. Little did we know we would be surrounded by "Tar" . Tar everywhere. Gabrielle wasn't prepared for the sadness the Tar would ensnare her in... Lots of movie references followed. It was fun to see how each of our kids reacted differently to the many different Tar Pits. Anthony, who has Autism, loved this museum the most, as I could see his attention span held longer to the different exhibits around the Tar Pits. Taking my family out into the world is very important to me. I want to prepare them for various types of structured and unstructured encounters that Neurotypical people experience every day.
