4. Inside the Market - Yacht Sales Insights & Trends for September 2025 - Berthon International Y...
In this September Market Insights episode, Sue Grant is joined by Magnus Kullberg, Managing Director of Berthon Scandinavia, to reflect on the yacht market as the season changes. With Cannes and Newport Boat Shows behind us and Annapolis ahead, both events were quieter than expected for immediate deals, though valuable for gauging trends and client interest. This month’s key insights: 1. Cannes and Newport were information-gathering, not deal-making. 2. Brokerage enquiries are well up on 2024 levels. 3. Marketing teams are flat out as new listings swell stock. 4. Sweden is seeing a rebound after a slow August. 5. Buyers are focusing on value, ignoring overpriced yachts. 6. Owners should heed broker advice when offers arrive. 7. Custom yachts are out of favour in today’s price-sensitive market. The message across the group is clear: the market is active yet disciplined, with serious buyers stepping forward, price sensitivity dictating movement, and residual value under close watch. STOP PRESS! Seawind Catamarans launched a new 42 footer today, the all-new Seawind 1270, aiming to be the best 42-foot performance cruising catamaran on the market. ▫️ What do you think? 👇 ▫️ An update of the successful 1260, the new Seawind 1270 has been designed with 35 significant design changes and upgrades, the result of listening to their many 1260 owners throughout the world. ▫️ The new design is 400mm longer and 120mm wider offering more comfort, stability and performance. She has been built to Category A, unlimited offshore certification. ▫️ The hulls are 60mm wider with a new underwater hull shape that keeps the stable windward experience but is optimised for more performance and speed both on and off the wind. The extra 60mm width combined with the vertical topsides provide significantly more interior space. ▫️ The 1270 is available in either a three cabin, galley down version (a hallmark of Seawind’s success over many years) or a three cabin, galley up version. Or go 4 cabins. For the galley up version, a forward-facing navigation station has been added. ▫️ In the saloon, the day bed has been retained as well as the large forward facing opening windows, designed & built to Category A certification for open ocean sailing. 360 degree vision, ergonomics, and ventilation ✅ ▫️ She has side access gates and extended transoms for easier boarding plus 800mm stanchions with four lifelines for security at sea. ▫️ Standard propulsion is twin 29hp Yanmar diesels. And a hybrid electric propulsion option is planned for a late 2026 release. ▫️ Production is scheduled to begin in November 2025, with all new tooling currently underway and an estimated completion for hull #1 in June 2026. ▫️ #new #yacht #ocean #yachts @SeawindCatamarans
On the face of it Paul Meilhat's Biotherm had pretty much won the Ocean Race Europe ahead of the final leg from Italy to Montenegro.Their command of the race over the previous four legs had been dominant, but, on paper it was still their to lose. So, while they might have had a 12 point lead, over second placed Paprec Arkea there were still 16 points on the table thanks to leg 5, the scoring gate points and the final coastal race that counted for as many as the final offshore leg. It was clear just from the route that the final offshore leg was also a very twisty, tricky tactical leg that had potholes and speed bumps all over it. And that is just how it played out. Leg 5 was the most stressful of the lot and a leg that also delivered some of the biggest surprises. This made leg 5 and the coastal races fitting curtain callers to an amazing six week event that had delivered way more than anyone had expected. Here's how it panned out.

Sistemi tecnici integrati e nascosti Impianti elettrici, batterie, condizionamento, e gestione idraulica (pompe, serbatoi) vanno incassati in vani tecnici accessibili, ma fuori dalle zone “living”. Kiwis Clinch the Golden Ticket in a Dramatic Repechage 28 September – After two qualifying races, ten teams from nine nations had already booked their places in the final of the 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships. One final berth remained; the winner of the nerve-shredding Repechage Race. After 89 miles of nonstop drama, and a protest hearing that briefly cast doubt over the outcome, New Zealand’s Aaron Hume-Merry and Anna Merchant (NZL 1) emerged victorious, clinching the last golden ticket to Monday’s final. #ODHWC2025 #rorcracing #doublehanded

After zig-zagging our way across the Pacific, we finally reach these volcanic islands that feel worlds apart from the remote atolls we’ve been visiting. Bigger, more built-up, and rich in culture, Samoa offers a very different kind of adventure. From bustling local life to quiet anchorages, this place surprised us at every turn. In this episode, we share our first impressions of Samoa: the warm welcome, the challenges of arriving by sailboat in a less-traveled corner of the Pacific, and why this island chain feels like the living heart of adventure. #58 République Dominicaine 2 : on talonne 3 fois ! Baie Samana : magique, contraste, mer difficile !

Our sailing journey to the Mediterranean takes a turn and slows down as autumn weather catches up with us in northern France. After sailing 1276 nautical miles from Stockholm, we find ourselves stuck in Bologne-sur-Mer for an entire week due to bad weather and limited sailing windows💨 But being delayed doesn’t stop the adventure! While waiting for better conditions, we explore the historic port city of Dunkirk and take a 24-hour trip to beautiful Paris with our friends. 🫶 We have to remind ourselves that this is what it’s all about - not just reaching the destination, but gathering experiences and enjoying the journey along the way. ⚓️ This video is made in collaboration with gearcraftdepot.se – a brand new webshop with everything you need for your boat! 📍 Route: Dunkirk (France) to Bologne-sur-Mer (France) ⛵ Distance sailed: 1276 Nautical Miles 🧑✈️ Crew: Erik, Linn & Nora the dachshund If you're new to our channel, welcome! 🩵 We’re Linn and Erik, a Swedish couple in our late 20s who quit our jobs, rented out our apartment, and set off to sail from Stockholm to the Mediterranean together with our sausage dog. We started the journey in our unique 33 foot sailboat from 1980, which we sold in Kiel, and luckily one week after we bought a new boat, a Bavaria 37, from 2000 more suited for our adventures ahead. 🔔 If you love real-life sailing stories and adventures where we learn as we go, don’t forget to subscribe and join us on the journey! 🎬 Check out our playlists: https://www.youtube.com/@SailAndDoxie/playlists 📱 Follow us on Instagram for more updates: / sailanddoxie #sailing #sailinglife #sailboat #adventure #boatlife #lifestyle #sailors

Getting on hands and knees, climbing the pole, poetry, CQR anchor, fish chasing dolphin, and dancing. It’s time for sprucing up Isabella. All hands on deck as Karen gets on her hands and knees to wash the deck clean. The wind generator pole is made of 316 stainless steel and still managed to attract a bit of rust. Rubbing and polishing the pole reminded us of the poem, Sail Away With Me by Laney Mills and we share a few stanzas with y’all. Steve climbs the pole to reach the last hard spots as Karen enjoys watching from behind. Isabella has two anchors, a 121 pound Rocna and a 66 pound CQR. We use the Rocna as the main anchor. The CQR has a few rusty spots. Rather than re-galvanizing it, Steve treated the rust, getting it ready to be painted. A surprise appearance of a dolphin was seen chasing a fish. And of course, we danced. Huge hugs and kisses to our subscribers! Love y’all and look forward to your comments. If you haven’t already subscribed, come on aboard and hit that subscribe button.
