Sailing, Capsize and rescue canoe Capsize and rescue of Marshall Islands canoe Sailing Canoe capsize and rescue in the Marshall Islands A Traditional pacific canoe capsizes next to us when we are on anchor at Ailuk Lagoon in the Marshall Islands. The five visiting yachts all head over in their dinghy and help rescue the crew. We drag the overturned and damaged vessel to the shallows where we turn it back over and leave the crew to make their way to shore so they can continue the repairs. We also enjoy the underwater delights of Ailuk and hang out in another stunning anchorage. This is "Teamviewer Host" it will only allow other computers to connect to the Pi to control it for example where a RPI is being used to remote admin of or as part of a data control system, relay, video decoder, in store video display, h264 camera source, h264 encoder, etc etc, and especially id the RPI is being connected to a 4G modem, the list goes on , Set your password in the options menu and then you can control the pi from anywhere in the world. This works on a Pi2 or newer. Honestly, I have mixed feelings to post this video. We know all that the world is strange right now and how blessed we are to be able to do what we do. Covid sucks! We can still hang around with other boats and enjoy drinks and games every night. We had a great time in Staniel Cay. Steph tries doing some good old fashioned hand washing/boat laundry for the first time and then we head off to The Thunderball Grotto which really is a must see when cruising the Exuma Cays. The underwater cave system was definitely an adult playground for us and we recommend going at slack tide. The anchorage in front of the Staniel Cay Yacht Club was a bit shallow and we did run aground, luckily it was low tide and soft sand! Navionics lied to us for that particular area! WHERE WE DROPPED ANCHOR - In front of the Staniel Cay Yacht Club CREAM CHEESE FILLED CARROT STREUSEL MUFFINS (Yields: 12 medium or 6 jumbo muffins) Ingredients for the Muffins: 1 can (14.5 oz) sliced carrots, drained 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 large egg 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup uncooked quick oats 1 tbsp baking powder 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup raisins/dried cranberries Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Place carrots in a large mixing bowl and mash them until tiny pieces 3. Add brown sugar, oil and egg and mix well 4. Add flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Mix just until the dry ingredients are moistened. Do not over mix 5. Fold in raisins/cranberries 6. Spoon batter into paper-lined muffin tray - half full only if adding the filling 7. Place cream cheese filling in the middle 8. Top remaining half of muffin cup with batter (make sure you cover all the filling to avoid leakage) 9. Top with streusel mixture 10. Bake or 25 mins or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Leave in the muffin tray for 5 minutes before removing and placing on a cooling rack CREAM CHEESE FILLING Mix 1 tbsp softened butter/margarine, 3 tbsp softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup icing sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract until smooth. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. Leaving GRENADA and entering ST. VINCENT and the GRENADINES...which means more hoops to jump through. It's well worth it, but these days it's definitely a bit confusing and stressful. To leave Grenada and enter St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we had to have a negative PCR test taken in Grenada, NO LONGER than 72 hours before arriving in SVG. However, sometimes the results were taking DAYS to come back. Then, after the typical song and dance at Customs and Immigration, we would be required to test once again in SVG, then quarantine and wait for the results, on top of the typical check-in stress. We DO get a kick ass sail out of it and we show you some pretty nice shots of Carriacou, which turned out to be one of our favorite places so far. Enjoy!! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. World number 3 and first French in the Match-Racing Open, Maxime Mesnil opens up to ocean racing, participating in the next edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race. Racing onboard the J/99 Axe Sail, Maxime will race with the same crew he is used to racing with on the match-racing circuit. Defending their 2019 Rolex Fastnet Race IRC Two Handed title - Alexis Loison and Jean Pierre Kelbert on JPK 10.30 Léon. Alexis Loisin, who became the race’s first doublehanded overall winner with his father Pascal in 2013 aboard their JPK 10.10 Night And Day, is back to defend his title in the IRC Two Handed class on board the JPK 10.30 Léon with Jean Pierre Kelbert, proprietor of the successful French Chantier JPK. Loisin has won IRC Two Handed in three of the last four races and only was displaced into second in 2015 by Kelvin Rawlings and Stuart Childerley on their J/105 Jester, who that year were fourth overall under IRC and top British finishers. Alex Thomson sailed Hugo Boss home to the UK from Cape Town. Vittorio d'Albertas on Quantum Sails Genoa gives us his take on what went wrong with the American Magic campaign. But they will be back. The MC32's were last week in Florida with their first regatta for 2021. The Sailors Champion League regatta was in Melbourne and we have Day One and the Final day.
