Oh the joys of boating! But if you are living on a boat and on a budget, you are going to have to deal with pumping out the head and the black water holding tank. If the pump works at your nearest public dock and you have a hose, then it shouldn't be too hard. I am using my 30 foot Catalina sail boat do demonstrate this but it is exactly the same method for any boat with a holding tank. If you are lazy and have a couple extra bucks on you (or your boat is such a mess that it doesn't even run) you can call someone like Captain Pumpout to come pump out your tank on a regular basis and not have to worry about it. Highly recommend! Spend more time boating and less time pumping! captainpumpout.com Only pumpout service in San Diego with an app! Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for watching.

Our Danish friend Karsten invited us for an afternoon sail on "Barracuda of Denmark" at the Turkish coast. The "Beneteau 51 Idyll" is an old lady, built in 1987. Amazing how different this solid boat is compared to the modern Beneteaus, which scoffers call "yogurt cups".

It can feel lonely, left out & down right depressing just going through our daily routines & catching any spare time the kids would have for us. Well, we decided to do something about that, we set off on a journey around Australia in our RV until karma had other plans. Our lives took a different direction after this, which allowed us to grab a lifetime dream that we didn’t think was ever possible but in reality, it was. Please join two boomers as we embark on our new chapter & how we manage life & family from our MacIntosh 47’ sailboat heading home to Australia.

Hello Everyone! In this weeks episode we have A LOT of fun. We made a couple of great friends in Bimini and we ran into some old friends as well. Jamie became a very close friend and also showed us around the island as well as all the secrets about the area. We went and checked out the Sapona Wreck which was used during the prohibition to store liquor that was shipped between The Bahamas and Florida. The ship was made of concrete and ran aground on the banks and now sits there as a part of history with a really neat story to tell. After diving and having an underwater photoshoot at the wreck we went and caught dinner! Jamie's quarantine project was setting out lobster hotels. With them plotted on his gps we went and checked them out. Jamie was nice of enough to cook us an amazing lobster pasta and per usual we had a silly, hilarious, wonderful dinner!! We also ran into a friend from Key West, Blake Olsen, who is an amazing at kite boarding and foiling! Check out Jamie @jaycardo for some awesome underwater shark shots on Instagram, he’s a hammerhead shark feeder/wrangler!! Also go check out Blake @blaketheolsen! He also had a YouTube to see all the cool footage he takes while out boarding @Blake Olsen If anyone is a fan of coffee, check out Actual Coffee from Toledo, Ohio. #whitsundays #whitsundaystour #boattour #australia #eastcoast #travelaustralia Wings II is a custom built sailing and adventure catamaran, designed by Angelo Lavranos. Originally built to charter in Auckland, New Zealand ... but after discovering the beautiful Whitsundays she crossed the ditch and made a home for herself in Airlie Beach. Now Wings II has made a name for herself doing scheduled tours around the Whitsunday Islands departing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wings II was my first multihull and that is the beginning of the story. They say once you have sailed a multihull there's no going back. I've cruised and raced a variety of dinghies , skiffs, nacra cats and cruising multihulls; including being part of the winning multihull crew in the first multihull event at Hamilton Island. Racing aside, the reason I love multihulls is the stability of the boat when at anchor. A large part of your time on any cruise or charter is spent at anchor. Multihulls have large deck space and Wings II is no lightweight here either with over 125 sq/m of deck space there's enough room to get lost. Angelo Lavranos is a great boat designer and Wings II is a great social boat with an open helm area and large foredeck and open aft deck / Weber BBQ area. I think of this boat as the great entertainer and she's my favourite boat for an afternoon sail on the bay with a large or small group of friends ... This boat is the entertainer! Wings 2 Boat Layout The aft sundeck of Wings II carries the toys, a clear bottom tandem kayak and a few paddle boards, perfect for an afternoon of simply messing about on boats! Inboard from there we have refrigerated drink storage and space to get ready for your water activities or just chill out in the evening watching the fish and dolphins play in the boats underwater blue lights. Inside we go and we have the Wings II saloon area with 3 separate seating areas and the galley, all fully air conditioned. Chilled, filtered water is available from the galley and 2 flat screen tv's allow the crew to show you the various corals and reef fish you may see while snorkelling the beautiful Whitsunday reef. Wings II can carry up to 40 people just for the day when sailing in the bay or 29 people overnight but give her a little breeze and she's great fun to sail. The primary winch has a 24 volt electric motor that takes much of the hard work out of the job, leaving you with easy, smooth and stable sailing. So after that little story about our Wings II; you may ask "Why is Wings II the first one, when it is called Wings II ? .... Well , I'll answer that one when I see you onboard for that first, second or even third "Sleep aboard, wake up in paradise" Whitsunday adventure. #privatecharter #sailingcharter #thewhitsundays #queensland Discover the story about WINGS III vessel ... Wings III is a custom built sailing and adventure catamaran, designed by Angelo Lavranos specifically to operate in the Whitsunday area. Wings III was designed to "Sleep aboard and wake up in paradise". The design started with her sistership Wings II, another of Angelo's designs and to this another 3m and about 5 tonnes overall was added by the time she launchedWings III was designed to be able to operate comfortably for crew and guests on extended journeys in a wide range of weather conditions while conducting a range of water activities while at anchor; while still maintaining decent sailing performance on the longer legs of her journeys around the Whitsunday Islands and Outer Great Barrier Reef reef systems. As the boat had a design criteria to work amongst offshore reef systems her keels are slightly shallower than her little sister and her hulls are slightly more beamy giving her a larger interior volume. While she's no racing cat, she can maintain a 10 knot boat speed under sail when returning from the outer great barrier reef in a fresh breeze on an ocean that has a few bumps. The operational limits for Wings III is the entire Queensland coast as per the Class C operational limits in the Great Barrier Reef. Our area of operation is the Whitsunday Island Group and associated Great Barrier Reef systems within approximately 50 nautical miles of these islands on extended private charters. Wings III has a 365 day Whitsundays Islands operational marine park permit and 365 day National Park access to Whitehaven Beach and Tongue bay / Hill inlet on Whitsunday Island. Many areas in the Whitsundays have limits to entry based on the total number of people onboard a boat. All Wings marine park permits are also for the entire Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Wings III also has a charter fishing licence for "General use" and "Habitat Protection areas". Whilst Wings vessels do not run charter fishing tours as such, sometimes it's great to put a line in of an evening or for some people it can be the opportunity to catch their first fish. All Wings boats carry basic fishing gear and squid jigs just for a little fun when we have the time and the zoning of the area allows. Charter fishing includes line fishing, spear fishing, game fishing and bottom fishing and WingsIII is a great mothership for these activities. Talk to us about the opportunity to add these as activities on any extended private charter. As you step aboard Wings III you come straight into the covered aft deck seating area / gear up for the adventure area and the back deck Weber BBQ area. Moving into the fully air conditioned vessel interior, the saloon of Wings III has 3 separate dining areas and a large galley with 4 domestic fridges. In the saloon we have 2 flat screen TV's, one being the larger display to the onboard computer. Galley stove top and oven is gas. Filtered and cooled water available. Join in this episode as we rock and roll our way from Goldsmith Island to Long Island in the heart of the Whitsundays. We anchor off the mothballed Happy Bay Resort with excellent protection from the approaching strong south easterly winds. Karen spent many fun filled days here as a child growing up on her parents Game Fishing Charter boat in nearby Shute Harbour. She really enjoyed the memories rekindled during our visit. We got amongst the rainforest on another great National Parks Trail and spent some time trying to rediscover Karen’s childhood pirate cave. In Our Galley Karen invents a new fish dish so different it hasn’t even got a name yet but it’s so tasty it really deserves a great one. The design of the fore and aft cabin berths in the Garcia Exploration 45 includes Bedflex slats between the bed base and the mattresses. This is good for comfort and it is very good for controlling condensation. Condensation can form when the mattress is warmed by your hot partner’s body or even by yourself. If warm air under the mattress comes into contact with a cold surface and there is enough of a temperature difference, droplets will condense out of the air. Keeping an air gap between the mattress and the bed base helps in a few ways. Firstly, it broadens the distance over which the temperature change occurs, which reduces the incidence of condensation. Secondly, it allows the bottom of the mattress to stay warmer and so not become a localised site of condensation. Thirdly, if condensation does occur due to the conditions being especially humid and also cold, it will form on the wooden bed base and not soak into the mattress. Fourthly, the air gap helps any minor condensation dissipate. Quite simply, it works! We didn’t see any condensation after a few very cold nights. However, a few weeks ago when the weather was much more humid there was a day when we lifted the mattresses and we did see some droplets of moisture. Not much, just around the centre of the bed bases and none on the mattresses - they were dry. The system works, even when it’s called upon. Regards, Rick and Carolyn.

Hi! This video is a little long but we have a lot going on. Please see below for time marks for specific information. As we continue our sailboat restoration, we want to bring you a closer look at the damage low level current does to sailboat bronze fittings. Also, on this episode we show you our efforts in faring the hull with Interlux Watertite, but once we ran out, we finished the little bit we had left with West System Epoxy Fairing with Filler. The reason we used the Interlux, is because it is a 2 part epoxy fairing which you mix on a 1:1 ratio. This makes it easy to mix and apply. On Reverie, our 34 ft sailboat we went through 2 liters of Watertite. We ran out almost at the end so we finished the remaining few sections using West Systems 105 Resin / 206 Slow Hardener / 410 Filler. We used the slow hardener so we had 20 - 25 minutes to apply the mix before it started setting. We show you a close view of the Rudder Shoe and what damage it suffered because of low level current. We also show you what the new Rudder Shoe looks like. Pearson seems to have used this same show system on the #pearson 323 as well. If you do not have time to watch the whole video, here are some areas of interest: 1:36 - Rudder Show Mounting Location 3:01 - Rudder Show & Low Level Electric Current Damage 5:01 - New Rudder Show 5:59 - Materials Used to Repair Rudder Show Screw Holes 8:03 - Interlux Watertite Mixing and Application 10:33 - West System Application 12:55 - Structural Epoxy Filler 12:18 - Rudder Show mounting location after repair Video Equipment Used - Iphone XMAX - - Video Editing: Camtasia 2020 - https://techsmith.z6rjha.net/j0LQZ Equipment I used for these jobs - West System Epoxy Resin 105 - https://amzn.to/2JWh7TS - West System 206 Slow Hardener - https://amzn.to/36KLeH2 - West System 410 Filler - https://amzn.to/3mVTZUf - West System Reusable Mixing Sticks - https://amzn.to/33No1Cb - Chop Strand Mat 50” X 360” 1.5 Oz - https://amzn.to/2JNszRU Tools - DEWALT Rotary Sander, Variable Speed, Dust Shroud, 5-Inch (DWE6401DS) - https://amzn.to/3qBf1tw Video Equipment Used - Iphone XMAX - https://amzn.to/37D3IZk - Video Editing: Camtasia 2020 - https://techsmith.z6rjha.net/j0LQZ - DJI Mavic Mini Combo - https://amzn.to/3gNXCtk - Sony A6400 Camera - https://amzn.to/3afuWIs - Manfrotto Travel Aluminum Tripod - https://amzn.to/3oTGW6q

In this episode, we have a great start to our passage in the North Atlantic from Maine to St. John's, Newfoundland. We battle and bask in the currents and tides to make miles north. Amanda gets sea sick as we go through some storms, we get tired of motoring and one sunny day improves our moods. 📺BINGE Watch our Journey📺 https://youtu.be/w58uZsntFa0 📣UPDATES on the Socials📣 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sailingpanda Facebook https://www.facebook.com/SailingSVPanda ⛵MORE about PANDA BOAT⛵ https://youtu.be/aq52YgzuIbI 🐼SUBSCRIBE for FREE 🐼 https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingPanda 🍺SUPPORT our Journey🍺 (One Time Contribution) https://paypal.me/DarrenSeltzer 📸OUR Gear📸 Sony 6400 https://amzn.to/2TvFDNi GoPro 8 https://amzn.to/2Jd39wM DJI Osmo https://amzn.to/31K2mJV DJI Mavic Mini https://amzn.to/3kAigyb Headphones Jabra Elite https://amzn.to/3mqB4Am Recording Mic https://amzn.to/2Tuxzwm Camera Mic https://amzn.to/3kAm3vn 🤗OUR Partners🤝 UKSailmakers: https://www.uksailmakers.com BattleBorn Batteries https://battlebornbatteries.com 📧Contact US!📧 Email and say Hello anytime!
