In particular, the stove pipe and fairing piece for the through-deck fitting, the fan control and the stove pipe, along with one or two other bits n bobs. This Oyster 485 is in superb condition throughout and underwent a huge refit/update from 2020 to 2022. Countless items, both technical as optical, and both outside as inside, have been renewed and re-built. For instance, the standing rigging has been completely renewed and 80% of the running rigging has been replaced. Also the main sail and the head sails are new. Furthermore she has a new generator, new folding prop, new aircon, new electric toilets, a new water maker, new bow thruster, various new covers, new carpets, etc. etc. Furthermore, equipped with a 100hp diesel engine, davits, dinghy with outboard engine, new life raft, refurbished and partly renewed navigation equipment, etc. Under deck of this Oyster 485 are two well-appointed cabins on either end of the boat. Both cabins have their own head compartment which gives all guests on board great privacy. The master cabin aft has been completely rebuilt last year including new mattresses and cushions. The spacious saloon and the walk-through galley are comfortable living areas and contain loads of storage space. She is a popular centre cockpit cruiser, is easily handled by a couple and is the ideal bluewater cruiser for those seeking a yacht under 50 feet. Its Easter long weekend and we planned on sailing to Port Vincent and stay the night and then sail home the following day, but things don't go to plan as we have engine failure while adrift on the ocean. Newbie wannabe pirates invest in a few boats, we have a Mirror Dinghy, Bruce Roberts 34, Top Hat 25 Mk1, Timber Hull 23 Alan Rice, and a 14 foot Catamaran which we are repairing, sailing around going on adventures. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I might have anchored my friend Maria’s sailboat a tiny bit too close to the shallows and she pays me back with a wasabi challenge. Paul, Luca, Maria and I go on a quick island excursion before we head back to the Marina to pick up more stuff. In total, we ended up spending nearly three months on Joana and it’s time to head back to the Pear islands where Paul and my sailboat are patiently waiting for us. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace as we have just had our first baby, born in Malaysia! Now completing our second major refit, Nandji is ready for the world when the world is ready for us!!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it!
