When docking your boat there are two schools of thought on the best way to secure your boat. In todays video we look at both the OXO and cleat hitch method comparing six key factors when considering which option to use. As with many things sailors usually have a preference and will get passionate about it, calling out anyone who goes with the other option. While the team at bottom up boats has a preference for the OXO method we will recommend using using the cleat hitch when specific situations arise. In this comparison we walk you through the two options calling up which one we prefer and why. After watching the video we will leave it up to you to decide which knot works best for you. Regardless of your preference we would like to think that every sailor should know both knots leaving your options to tie either depending on the situations you find yourself in. No matter how big or small you yacht or boat is these two methods will always give peace of mind when docking. The 2022 RORC Transatlantic Race will see a collaboration between two eminent yacht clubs; The Royal Ocean Racing Club and Yacht Club de France, as they team up for the next edition of the 3,000 nm (5,500km) race from Lanzarote, Canary Islands to the Caribbean. With an interest in expanding their programme of races, the Paris-based Yacht Club de France were keen to seek an alliance with the Royal Ocean Racing Club and the International Maxi Association to promote the already established RORC Transatlantic Race to its members and affiliated clubs. Modern IRC boats, as well as classic yachts will be invited to participate in the 8th edition of the annual race which has attracted previous entries from around the world to date. “With the still growing popularity of offshore racing in France and amongst our membership, we are very happy to join together with one of the most active and renowned offshore racing clubs in the world – the Royal Ocean Racing Club. We will be honoured to present a trophy on behalf of our historic club and help promote the RORC Transatlantic Race to our members and through our 32 associated clubs in France,” explains President of Yacht Club de France, Philippe Heral. Après avoir fait quelques jours vers Propriano on continue notre route toujours plus au Sud. L'idée est de se rendre à Bonifacio en profitant de quelques cales sympas sur le chemin: la Cala d'Agulia, Cala di Conca et la Cala Longa, puis ensuite passer voir ce fameux lion de Roccapina. Enfin arrivés à Bonifacio on semble toucher la Sardaigne du bout des voiles. Les nouvelles restrictions sanitaires en Italie ont fait surfaces après le week-end de Pâques et nos espoirs en prirent un coup en voyant les portes de la Sardaigne se refermer en même temps que les mesures se renforcaient.
