Juni 2020: wir besichtigen die Stadt Split (ACI Marina Split) an Fronleichnam im Corona-Jahr 2020. Wir sind wirklich begeistert von dieser schönen Stadt, die Trogir, Korcula und Dubrovnic in Nichts nachsteht. Freitag segeln wir mit unserer Bavaria 36 Amwind zurück nach Trogir. Teil 2: wir starten am Mittwoch vom Stadthafen Sucuraj Richtung ACI Marina Palmizana und sehen Delphine. Donnerstag segeln wir genau an der Gewitter-Grenze Richtung Split. Da dann das Gewitter aber ebenso Richtung Split zog, segelten wir spontan noch mal in die Smrka-Bucht nach Brac und genossen einen sonnigen Badestop, während es in Split hagelte! Auf dem Weg Richtung Split spielte dann eine Gruppe von Delphinen lange um unser Schiff herum. Glücklich kommen wir in Split an. Hier geht´s zum Teil 2: https://youtu.be/-5emViMJO2w Teil 1: wir schlendern gemütlich durch die schöne Altstadt von Trogir und starten am Sonntag unseren Törn Richtung HVAR. Sonntag war flaute und so kehrten wir in unserer Lieblings-Konoba Ringo ein. Wir saßen als einzige Gäste auf der Außenterasse. Es war wieder sehr lecker. Obwohl wir wussten, dass der Wind gegen uns ist und nach dem Dreher zur Wochenmitte auf der Rückreise wieder gegen uns ist, machten wir uns bei 35 Kn Wind in Böen gegen den Wind Richtung Brac zum Zlatni Rat. Eigentlich wollten wir bis Sucuraj aber gegen Wind und Welle drehten wir am frühen Nachmittag nach Jelsa ab. Das Anlegen bei 20 kn Seitenwind war kein Spaß. Dass uns aber die Mitarbeiterin von dem Restaurant Mr. & Mr. Jones einen Wein anbot ( wir hatten direkt vor ihrer Türe fest gemacht), weil sie sich so über die Rückkehr von Seglern freute, war wirklich toll. Jelsa hat uns wirklich gut gefallen, obwohl es auch hier leer war. Dienstag machten wir uns weiter auf den Weg Richtung Osten nach Sucuraj. Kurz davor fanden wir noch eine wunderschöne Bucht, bei der wir den Nachmittag ankerten. Abends legten wir dann in Sucuraj an. Im Vergleicht zu der Stadt Hvar und Jelsa ist dies ein sehr vernachlässigter kleiner Hafen. I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of boat related youtube videos and got myself registered with dozen sailing forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons. Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Le retour fut agité avec une dépression prévu qui arrivera avec 3 heures d'avance et nous fera arriver sur Roscoff avec 40 nds... WE DID IT! We're proud to say we reassembled the interior in the same amount of time that it took to disassemble it! We're pushing towards becoming a sailboat again and turning this now floating boat into our home. Every panel, screw, bolt feels like a win and we're loving it. Some small wins this week - we found the engine key and got it to start...finally. Took a combination of cleaning all the connections, topping off the batteries, and tapping on the starter solenoid (probably all that was really needed after sitting so long). Also we now have running water! The zip-tied relay trick is only so reliable and will need to be replaced asap because if you even look at it wrong it disconnects. Just begging to start smoking or something sketchy. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made. EP 169: EXPLORE a TROPICAL ISLAND with ME! Since arriving in Grenada after our Southern Atlantic Crossing we had to do a little bit of provisioning, get some water on the boat.. get some petrol for our dinghy as it's going to be our main mode of transportation and some food.. all the lovely vegetables and fruits we have been deprived of since leaving South Africa. (Island fruit etc are so expensive guys 😭😭) We also met some awesome Germans (Peter and Luis) and they invited us onboard their Nordhavn 60 for a drink and some wake boarding. That was a real treat as we hadn't really wake boarded much before. After that we convinced them to join us for a dive at the underwater sculpture park. It was a real scenic and calm dive which was my favorite. We then headed off to Annadale waterfalls and experience the lush forest. So much to do here and soon we will be setting sail to carriacou (a island right next to Grenada) See ya next week!!
