When we have a purpose and we feel connected to the world around us we can be alone in the middle of an ocean and we would feel at home. This video is a collection of the footage of my solo sailing on Tranquility, a 1965 Columbia 29. The first part covers the 1700 nautical miles I sailed alone from Panama to Key West, FL and finally St.Simons Island, GA in November /December 2018 The second part is about the solo transatlantic crossing West to East from St.Marys, GA in USA to Tenerife (Spain) with one stop in the island of Faial in the Azores (Portugal). The journey took 42 days and covered 3700 nautical miles. Website: www.psychologyofsailing.com Blog: www.lapossibilitadiunisola.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/psychologyofsailing/?hl=it

She explored how artists and communities might use such techniques in collaborative dramaturgy and also how the individual writer can express a plurality of voices. Whilst the events of 2020 have restricted the extent to which she could expand the activity, she has been hosting a group called The Art of Social Dreaming in regular matrices. The focus of this series is on creativity and they respond to the matrix and dream reflection dialogue with writing and images. Several theatre-makers attend the group. They have discussed how Social Dreaming informs, or may in future inform, theatre practice. - You can read more on: https://www.tessagordz.co.uk/category/the-story-of-we/ Subscribe to this YouTube Channel or join this mailing list to be reminded of future talks: https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/e1m9e2 - Info about Social Dreaming Talks: http://www.psychologyofsailing.com/social-dreaming-talks/ - About Social Dreaming: http://www.psychologyofsailing.com/what-is-social-dreaming-matrix/

Video celebration of a Norvane Self Steering systems. It was very useful during the solo crossing from USA to Tenerife on my Columbia 29 Sailboat
The Social Dreaming Matrix is a space where participants share their night dreams, as well as free associations emerging from those dreams. Through the offering of recent or past dreams, participants form free associations linked to personal experience or coming from films, literature or any other cultural or social objects. The aim is to expand the narrative introduced by the dreamtelling without seeking to close it. During the SDM participant form what is called a Matrix, and they avoid making any interpretations or formulations (i.e. asking questions) letting instead the dream space flow. In this context dreams tell nothing about the dreamer, they form a pattern that circulates in the matrix, thus enabling the capacity to "be alone in the presence of others". After the dream sharing, the collective examine the content that emerged and attempt to reflect on possible meaning this information holds for individuals and members of a larger collective. ORIGIN OF SOCIAL DREAMING Gordon Lawrence has worked with SD since 1982. His discovery was rather fortuitous, emerging from a series of experiences working with groups at the Tavistock Institute in London, and later in other settings that provided him with more freedom of action.
