This week heavy winds mean we get comfy on our berth in Croabh Haven and explore the surrounding area. It is an extremely beautiful places with astounding views in all directions, but we do run out fo supplies. To rectify this requires a 1.5mile walk and a 50 minute bus ride to Oban. We always enjoy a day out and it gave us a chance to see Oban before we sail in later this season. An epic day out just to keep eating. Finally the weather calms down and we set sail for Ardminish, on the Isle of Gigha. The sail is sunny but still has a chill in air, and we enjoy watching the gannets diving for fish. My 2021 sailing adventure starts here!!!

Hello and welcome back! In this video we set sail from Moraira on the eastern coast of Spain. We head straight down to Almerimar, which is about 210 nautical miles away or a 2 day sail away. We enjoy the slow pace of life at sea, we watch some movies, play games, hang out on the bow, do some baking and enjoy the beautiful sunrises & sunsets. We finally arrive in Almerimar, which is where Alex has been coming ever since she was young. UPDATE ON THE MOTOR REPAIRS: LIVE ABOARD BOAT

Hi Guys, In this vlog I'm getting the engine repaired (at great expense)! I found when I took the boat to the dry dock the engine was in a much worse state than previously expected to the point where it could have blown at any minute! The hoses were completely perished as well as the engine mounts being corroded away and the stern gear being out of alignment which was causing a leak into the engine bay of canal water. I'm so glad I caught it in time as the bill would have been 3 x the price! Hope you enjoy. After living nearly two years in our self-converted campervan we decided we needed more space. So we decided to purchase a boat after spending some time on our friend’s narrowboat. Grayswood was conveniently located less that 5 minutes from my work and was found kind of by accident. I was visiting a friend who was staying in Aston Marina and whilst we were out walking the dogs, I seen the advert for Grayswood. I said to my friend “that looks a nice boat” and as I said it the marina manager appeared and asked if we would like a look inside. Naturally we did. After looking inside the boat, we made an offer after going back for a second viewing, after some negotiations within a week she was ours pending a survey. She was hauled out the following week and the survey went well. We kept her out on the hard standing for a further six weeks whilst we renovated the insides including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom. In the process of re-doing the entire bottom of reverie below the waterline, we made some improvements to the raw water intake system. We closed one thru hull and repurposed another and built a new Manifold Raw Water system to provide water to three key systems: Air Conditioner, Anchor Water Pump, and the Marine Head. Of course nothing is as simple as you hope. We had to get creative to prime the system, install check valves we didi not think off, rebuilt the head manual pump so we can prime the system and bring back a Mermaid Air 12K BTU air conditioner unit that has not been run in over 7 years. In the end….. we succeeded!!!! I think you will find some of this information useful on your own projects. Welcome to Bora Bora! After 4 weeks we finally made it to the South Seas Paradise. Together with our friends Yumyum we make our way to the southeast of Bora Bora, not quite an easy ride. Mostly it is only 2,50m deep with some coral heads, which is a challenge with a draft of 2,10m. The first time I still stand in front and look if everything fits, until we decide to send the drone in the air and look with it. What a fantastic view! Together with Christian and Fay from SY Zero we rent a scooter and explore the island. There really isn't much to see, but it's still fun. This week it's finally happening, we are going through the Panamá Canal! We get a bit nostalgic and realise we have been sailing over 7 000 NM, from Ios in Greece where we started a little under 2 years ago, to Colón in Panamá. After our some what hectic sail out of the Mediterranean, we sailed over the Atlantic ocean. We've spent over a year in the Caribbean islands and now we are crossing to the Pacific ocean through the great Panamá Canal. Two days before the crossing we picked up 8 enormous fenders and 4x40 meters (140 feet) long ropes from our agent. We wanted to have all the right gear for this passage and we didn't want to damage our home. Lucky for us we got a hold of 4 volunteers to help us with the lines the day before departure. Our advisor arrived at 4 pm and we started motoring towards the first lock, along with some dangerous looking clouds. What an experience! We had a blast, but after putting down the hook on the other side (the right side as Kieran puts it) we crashed. We were both exhausted, but so happy. My new Begode EX is driving fine, but at higher speeds, it starts to wobble. I have tried to realign the Kenda tyre, but without succes. Therefore I was looking for another tyre, and I read about the PIrelli Angel Scooter. It is used on the Sherman Veteran, but in another size. The 80/80-14. As seen on a EX-n, the 90/80-14 fits on the Begode (Gotway) EX. You can see the disassembly, fitting the tyre and assembly of the EUC.

Not much wind at all and it being old gaffers day in Falmouth as well.

Die Hälfte der Strecke hatten wir in Mallorca erreicht - 1500 Seemeilen. Weil sich der Start in Frankreich wegen schlechtem Wetter um vier Tage verzögert hatte, mussten wir uns sputen. Bis Mallorca hatten wir nur in Cascais bei Lissabon angelegt, dann einmal in Almeria in Spanien wegen der Motorinspektion und zu dritten Mal in Mallorca. Aber ab Sardinien sollte es geruhsamer werden. Wir lagen wieder im Zeitplan. Endlich Urlaub! Und so genossen wir die Zeit entlang der bezaubernden Südküste Sardiniens. Bis nach Sizilien waren es noch mal 165 Seemeilen - anderthalb Tage auf See.
