Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. Aujourd'hui on vous présente ce merveilleux couple que nous avons rencontré dans les Exumas, aux Bahamas. Alexis et Sarah-Jeanne sont partis du Québec sur leur voilier Irwin Citation 32 pieds "La Crucero" en plein COVID-19, avec aucune expérience. Ils ont réussi à descendre la côte est Américaine et se rendre aux Bahamas avec pleins de péripéties. À ce jour, ils ont réussi à trouver un emploi hors du commun pour la construction d'un resort écologique sur une île presque déserte. On we go with refitting our sailboat ForTuna, this time we will take care of electricity and energy on our boat by installing a windgenerator on our Beneteau Oceanis 3933. We will show you which wind-generator we chose and how we made the wiring and structure for the windgenerator. Calling all Never Too Laters . . . for a Special YT Live event to mark the two year anniversary since I stepped on board my dream. It is two years ago that I stepped on board my dream. At my 64th Birthday Party in March 2019 I announced my dream to buy a boat, live on her, learn to sail, and eventually cross an ocean. Honestly, at the time, it was only words and I thought the reality was years away. But within weeks Wahine and I found each other and in June I signed a contract for her and moved on board July 1st. Wow… just wow. I am truly learning it is Never Too Late and now two years on I have left the marina and am cruising around Japan in preparation for my crossing of the Pacific. I came into this with so many fears. One of them was climbing the mast. So, one of the first things I did was to ascend the mast and view Wahine from above. I have been up the mast countless times and love doing it now. I have been facing every fear and challenge one by one since. And there have been many and no doubt many more . . but as my brother reminds me and others too . . I am living the dream! So, to mark this important anniversary for Wahine, me, and indeed the Pacific Solo community, I will be having a YOUTUBE live event. I am excited that my brother Brent, is going to join me interview or in his words Interrogate me about Pacific Solo and the steps I have taken to bring the dream into reality. He will be British Columbia in his mountainside Tiny House and I will be on my Boat somewhere in the waters off Shikoku or Kyushu. You know, I did not set out to inspire anyone, (except my grandson Eli) But along the way I have realized that many of you who are following me on YouTube is just like me: A NEVER TOO LATER and that like me you want to make a dream come true despite a lack of experience, knowledge and perhaps even money. I was watching Sailing Zingaro and James nearly sunk his new boat because he didn't have a bung readily available. James is a very experienced sailer and just like the rest of us, is always learning from mistakes. After watching that I realized how easily it would be to get some bungs and set up a system to attach a few sizes in all the through hole areas. We are glad your boat didnt sink James and we thank you for giving us the idea, through your trials, for our bung set up. Captain King arrived at the boat yard a few weeks before us and has worked his butt off to get his Seawind sailing catamaran into the water. The day for him and Carlos, the boatyard cat, finally arrives for them to set off on their new journey. 48 is another year in the books for me. However this year brought quite a surprise. I had a goal by 55 to get a sailing catamaran and start a new business and charity venture in SE Asia with it. We'll here I am celebrating my 48th birthday on our catamaran. We are looking forward to getting it back to Davao and getting our custom charter business rolling. Hopefully we will be adding even more of them in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode. 1000 subscribers is getting closer and closer by the day. Travelling during the current pandemic, 2019 and still going, is not as easy as it used to be. Visa on arrival has stopped in most countries. In order to visit those countries, a special visa is usually required, along with doing quarantine stay. But at least some travelling is still doable and hopefully everything will bet better soon. We bought a sailboat with no experience, but knew that we could learn along the way. We left Florida with our barebones sailboat and along the way we have made her more comfortable with the generosity of many. We didn’t even know if we were going to like #sailing, so we didn’t add a lot to #sailboat, because why spend money on her if it turns out we didn’t like it. Well turns out we have fallen in love and after 3 years things are starting to rip and rust. So we need to replace our rusty old anchor chain and replace some sails. We received a very nice email from Anne saying she has three hank on sails that she would like to give to us. And after waiting for weeks they finally arrive. We find a reputable anchor chain supplier in St. Thomas, so we finally are able to replace the anchor chain. And now we can sail to St. Croix, where we hope to get some diving in, including a night dive.
