Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. Bereits 2018 starteten wir Richtung Wien, doch ein Motorschaden in der Straße von Messina zwang uns, den Überstellungstörn abzubrechen. Lá chegados perguntam-lhes: Queres este barco? Era a Sea Shepherd que lhes perguntava isto e eles disseram que não!!! O pessoal da Sea Shepherd ficou desconcertado com a resposta mas depois entederam a difilculdade para eles em manter um barco e a Biosfera então aceitou o barco mas com condições de maior apoio, e a Sea Shepherd acabou por lhes dar todo esse apoio! Les zones de mouillage que nous choisissons, sont toujours anticipées, soit avant la navigation, en cour de navigation si un déroutement est programmé. le mouillage reste la partie délicate du voyage en voilier, nous lui attribuons une place importante dans la sécurité. Quand je quitte le bord j’ai besoin d’être rassuré sur la bonne tenu de mon ancre. J’en parle en arrivant sur notre mouillage de Cargèse. Nous vous souhaitons un bon moment en notre compagnie.

As we continue to sail in company we leave Fishguard and head through Ramsey and Jack sounds to Milford Haven where we anchor overnight in Dale bay. From here we motor up the river to spend the night at Lawrenny Yacht Station sailing in company with Yacht Volupia (crewed by Rob & Jen). The next day we head into Milford Haven to stock up on supplies and have a fabulous meal out. As the weather improves we head back out to Dale bay to prepare for a passage up the Bristol Channel. A rescue by a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) vessel has unfolded right before our eyes, here in Fishguard, Wales. And it so happens that our friend Luggy is one of the fishermen being towed back into harbour. Engine troubles, it seems. Carolyn and I know about that, from our dramatic entry into Milford Haven a few months ago, sans engine! We were very happy to know the Lifeboats people were on standby for us on that occasion. Today, we saw them in action, for realz. What a wonderful organisation, worthy of support and donations.
