Be it through styling, performance or often both, the Slovenian yard have frequently led from the front. Humphreys Design has been a big part of Elan’s evolution. And now they’ve added Studio F. A Porsche and Pininfarina for the styling of their next two hot ships.
When it comes to shorthanded offshore events, the French are pretty good at laying on a series that will pull in the big guns. One of the latest is the Drheam cup / Grand prix de France de course au large. But this series is attracting plenty more than just the pros.
As modern technology makes it possible to keep reaching for the sky, the demand for giant sloop rigs in the superyacht world rolls on and here, Reckmann continue to be big players. But not all the advanced technology is easily visible. The new 146m Baltic performance cruiser Path is one of the latest examples.

We’re back to the boat!! This is our fourth season aboard — but this time, baby Renata is along for the ride! The boat needs some work before we splash, as usual. In the past, Kirk and I would live in the boatyard, sleeping in the van and working every minute we could. This time around we do things a little differently. Kirk reveals how he plans to fix the deck leak we've been chasing since we bought the boat, why the boatyard makes him feel territorial, and what it’s like to leave his daughter every day. Dropping in midweek to show how our favourite Easy Rich Bread Recipe can be used FOUR WAYS to make simple bagels, a cheese loaf and vanilla glazed donuts! Be sure to check out Episode 20 to see the step by step on how to make the easy bread recipe. We'll be back on Friday for our regularly scheduled episode! New Videos every Friday! Please subscribe and share our video - every bit of support is much appreciated and keeps our journey going and the content coming! RICH EGG BREAD RECIPE - Makes one loaf (8"x4" or 9"X5" loaf pan) INGREDIENTS - 3 to 3.5 cups all purpose or bread flour - 1 pkg instant rapid rise yeast (2 1/4 tsp) - 1/4 cup white sugar - 1.5 tsp salt - 1 large egg - 1 cup warm water (120 to 130 degrees F) - 2 thsp olive oil DIRECTIONS 1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together 1.5 cups of the flour, the yeast, sugar and salt. Add warm water and oil. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute (or just hand mix until well blended and smooth) 2. Add the egg and beat until smooth (or hand mix once again until smooth) 3. Stir enough of the remaining flour until the dough is easy to handle 4. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and springy 5. Grease a large bowl with oil/cooking spray and then place the dough in the bowl, turning the dough to grease all sides (at this point, dough can be refrigerated up to 24 hours) Cover bowl loosely and let rise in a warm place (about one hour or until dough has doubled). Dough is ready when indentation remains when touched 6. Grease bottom and sides of your loaf pan with oil/cooking spray. 7. Gently push fist into dough to deflate. Flatten dough with hands/rolling pin into an 18"X9" rectangle. Roll up tightly beginning at the 9" side. Pinch edges of dough to seal and pinch each end of the roll to seal. Fold ends under the loaf. Place loaf seam side down, in pan. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise again in a warm place for an hour or until dough has doubled in size. 7. Move oven rack to low position so that the top of pan will be in the centre of the oven. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. 8. Bake for 30-35min or until the loaf is deep golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. #326 I forgot to mention our patrons regarding the Indonesia positions, if you are a patron of SLV, please ensure you include 'Patreon' in the subject line and we’ll give it high priority (as long as it matches up in our database). Thanks guys! Look forward to reading all your resumes over the next couple of weeks. If you've been watching for a while and you'd like to join us in Asia as crew, we're HIRING! Please send us in your resumes to: joininglavagabonde@gmail.com It's hard to believe it's been 7 years since we untied the lines and set sail for good. For 7 years now, we've been living off grid in our floating home. We've learned what it means to be a 'cruiser'. We've made friends with people from countless different countries. We've been the most scared we've ever been, as well as the most happy. We've brought two children into this world to share it all with. We feel so. damn. lucky. OUR ROUTE: We departed the Boston area of the United States and sailed south to the Caribbean and then west through the Panama Canal. We have dealt with massive repairs in the South Pacific, the Coronavirus lock down in New Zealand, a Category 5 Cyclone in Fiji, and now we are cruising in Australia. OUR PAST: You may remember us as "SV Honeymoon?" Ten years ago ("before kids"), we sailed a Lagoon 380 named Honeymoon halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences via YouTube and, by happenstance, created one of the very first "sailing channels." We also realized what an incredible experience we were having and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids. FAQ: More questions? This episode we leave Mia Cove and explore the ancient Aboriginal art on Jar Island, where we take a couple of hours climbing over the rocks and jumping over deep crevices to go around the lagoon due to the risk of a crocodile being present. On the return trip, we break all our rules and decide the opposite path, wading through waist deep water whilst keeping a lookout for any crocodiles that try to sneak up on us. Heading further north we explore the three beautiful creeks of Freshwater Bay. #seawind1260 #kimberleys #vansittartbay #freshwaterbay #jarisland #seawindcats
When we arrive in Muros we get to know the dolphin Manolino. We make a short stop in Baiona, before we head to Porto. We spend one night in the city centre with the boat but is woken by the police and asked to move. We spend the rest of the weekend doing port wine tasting, sightseeing, eating and drinking.

Sailing out and away from land in search of the Great Barrier Reef has been playing on our minds for weeks as we have island-hopped around the Whitsundays waiting for the right weather window. We have created a Patreon account, if you have been enjoying this production you can help support it continuing into the future here https://www.patreon.com/sailingnakama This week as chance would have it, we have all washed up on the same beach. After losing our fellow sailing mates somewhere along the way, the crews finally back together again. We dive the reef, climb the mountains and hang on each other's boats all before waking at an ungodly hour to take advantage of a weather window to head out to the outer reef. Yachting On Board: BENETEAU Gran Turismo 41 & 45 Watch the video to see the differences between the two boats and what sets them apart from the rest. Learn more at: https://www.beneteau.com/us/powerboats/gran-turismo -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. EXTENSIVE ENGINEERING WORK The hull design of the Grand Trawler 62 required more than 300 hours for the fluid dynamic calculations and tank testing. The data Micad collated set out the optimum vertical center of gravity (VCG) and longitudinal center of gravity (LCG) targets required to achieve the best economy, performance and seakeeping from the hull. The Grand Trawler 62 is a pioneer and exudes such virtues upon its guests on board with an exceptional range of 900 nautical miles at 9 knots. The benefit of slowing pace is the opportunity to be truly aware of your surroundings and to really see what is out there. This autonomy is achieved through the technical choices developed by BENETEAU’s engineering team and its Italian partners, naval architect MICAD and Nauta Design. Responsible, safe and comfortable, this next-generation yacht allows you to navigate in a different way. While the other Swift Trawler models feature semi-planing hulls, BENETEAU's largest trawler has a full displacement hull. A great first!
