Eva ligt in de haven van Leixões bij Matosinhos, net ten noorden van Porto. We bezoeken Porto gedurende twee dagen en genieten van de prachtige uitzichten over de stad, een rondvaart over de Douro en krijgen uiteraard een rondleiding in een wijnhuis, inclusief proeverij én fado show. Wat een feest. De tweede dag maken we een mooie fietstocht door Porto en zien in korte tijd de mooiste plekken in de stad. Dan is het al snel weer tijd om verder naar het zuiden te zeilen. We gaan voor anker bij Aveiro en bezoeken ook deze stad die ook wel het Venetië van Portugal wordt genoemd. Als we ook daar uitgekeken zijn, varen we uit om een flink stuk naar het zuiden te zeilen. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. After a great chat on some dinghy forums I leaned that there's a lot you can do to help right a capsized dinghy when it happens. ALL ABOUT U2 is 50 metre/ 164 ‘ sailing yacht launched by ADA Yacht Works in Bodrum, Turkey in June 2019. She is an absolutely stunning sailing yacht with massive volume given her 10.4 meter beam and 492 GT. The owner’s brief was to have a large volume sailing yacht with huge deck spaces for entertaining, an open flybridge, massive “Beach Club” transom swim platform aft and commercial compliance to ensure safe, legal charter operations worldwide. Designed with six (6) large double ensuite staterooms on the lower deck with a full beam VIP stateroom and a massive full beam owners stateroom plus additional dedicated massage room. The saloon is an open uncluttered space with contemporary relaxing interior décor that opens to a large dining and lounging aft deck. The 70sq. meter Flybridge Sundeck includes a large bar, nightclub quality sound system and dual sailing / steering controls forward. Water toys, personal water craft are stored on the foredeck with a dedicated hydraulic crane. Attention to build quality throughout her steel hull and aluminum superstructure as well her dependable and easily serviced systems with dual CAT C18 diesel machinery and 3 Kohler generators. Another amazing adventure here. Jip and I decided to go on a fishingtrip around Bonaire in my lovely Seahorse and stay out till we caught some fish. After two and an half hours sailing we noticed Curaçau in front of us and the chart said it was only another three hours sailing so we decided to go, the weather was good and I had a day off the next day. We moored at Klein Curaçau and it is just amazing. The colour of the water, turtles, the beach, the fish, really a dream island. And I woke up in the middle of the night thinking we where adrift!! Screemed for Jip to find out a minute later we where still on the mooring, haha. All and all it turned out to be a great fishingtrip and vlog, so go watch the amazing stuf we have seen and let us know what you think in the comments.

After a break for the holidays we return to the boat and get prepared for our winter season. We make a few hops down the Florida coast then head for the Berry Islands in the Bahamas! The first island chain we will visit in the Bahamas is the Berry Islands. The islands are quiet and beautiful. We visit a pristine saltwater blue hole and snorkel on a very healthy reef with lots of elkhorn coral.

Começamos a remontar o dog house e tivemos a visita ilustre da Mãe que já não entrava no barco há tempos... Foram trabalhos feitos por todo o lado, elétrica, colagem, marcenaria, limpeza, lixagem e segue a lista.... Com certeza um grande aprendizado a cada dia que passa.
