Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. Bereits 2018 starteten wir Richtung Wien, doch ein Motorschaden in der Straße von Messina zwang uns, den Überstellungstörn abzubrechen. While investigating a leak in our top deck we found a really huge hole that was repaired by what I can only describe as "bubblegum and duct tape". Only this was half chewed and no longer sticky. We repaired the issue and all is well but it too led to yet another project that led to another, that led to..., well, you get the point! lol

The girls swim in a chilling Cenote with Eels! - Tag along in this weeks’ expedition of SV CUBA to discover a hidden gem on the outskirts of Sami in Kefalonia with us. If you like to be part of our journey, please consider becoming a Patreon @ https://www.patreon.com/svcuba Since SV CUBA is securely anchored in the bay of Karavomilos the crew makes their way from the mesmerizing Melissani Cave. We follow a tip from a local that there is another cave nearby that may be overlooked by the tourist groups. After some asking around and getting lost, we find the elusive Zervati Cave and indeed, this one has neither a tour guide nor an entrance free and best of all, we have it all to ourselves! As we descend, the temperature almost immediately drops. Soon nothing is felt of the over 40 °C that we were exposed to on the way to the cave. A first step into the crystal-clear water reveals where the relief from the heat originates as the water in the cave is a mere 7 °C! Those caves are part of an astounding natural phenomenon. They are connected to a mysterious geological kast network that is still not fully understood but it is proven that seawater flows all the way from the west coast of Kefalonia to the caves located on the east of the island. Whether you are cruising or charter a boat, visiting one of the caves in Karavomilos is a must and definitely one of the top things to do in Kefalonia. Both the Melissani or Zervati Cave are less than a kilometer away from the beach and make a fantastic trip for the whole family. Unfortunately, we cannot stay for too long because we still have to change the overdue alternator belt of our old yanmar engine since our boat batteries were not charging properly. We also want to catch a weather window, and still have to collect our cruising stamp. Without it, we will not be able to sail from the Ionian to the Aegean Islands and visit spectacular Shipwreck Beach. – The days never seem to be long enough to get everything done in this cruising lifestyle! We are Enrique (Kiki) from Cuba and Sarah (Salsa) from Germany on a mission to sail around the world. We have almost no sailing experience, but are determined to circumnavigate & share our adventures with you. Join us on our first stop, when we explore the abandoned bunkers of Albania. In this episode we sail on from Sines at dawn on the Atlantic coast of Portugal towards the Algarve and round the acceleration zone at Cape St Vincent (Cabo de sao Vicente) in 30kts of wind under full main sail. Join us to find out why we now affectionately call it Cape Fear!! Whilst the forecast was identical to the previous day when we’d experienced some awesome sailing the conditions turned out very differently! The day began however with flat seas, a gentle swell and light winds which then became much bigger swell with not enough wind to push us through the swell resulting in a horribly rolly passage and our sails only full enough to give a little stability. As the day went on the anticipated winds finally showed up just as we reached the Cape and we found ourselves rounding it under full main sail and 30kts of wind! This Zeydon Z60 REGULUS, designed by Bosgraaf Yacht Design in close cooperation with BMW Designworks USA, has been totally refitted in 2020/2021. Her design is fascinating, her performance is outstanding and her interior sleek yet comfortable. The current owners not only have invested quite some money in the refit, but also their heart and soul. The hull has been re-painted, the teak decks have been renovated, hydraulics and electronics have been overhauled, windows have been replaced, and sails have been renewed. And, to optimize the center of gravity, they have made changes to the bulb keel. She is very well equipped with carbon mast and carbon furling boom, hydraulic opening garage, an 110hp Yanmar diesel engine, folding prop, bow thruster, generator, new bimini and spray hood, dinghy with outboard, life raft, numerous covers, etc. The interior of this Zeydon Z60 is bright and there is no shortage of space. The upholstery has recently been renewed and she is furthermore comfortably fitted out with air conditioning and heating. The L-shaped galley is located to starboard, the generous navigation corner is located to port, and the dining area can easily seat up to 6 guests. The big master cabin with ensuite is located forward. The two ample guest cabins are located aft and share the second bathroom. REGULUS will surely turn heads wherever you go.
