Hello Boat Buddies! This week I start off on Ganymede for drinks and a visit from a dog! Then I skedaddle south to Godalming, a super cutesy town in Surrey. One crazy hot day (it's a good 5℃ hotter than at my shropshire mooring) we take a walk down to the Wharf, at the end of the Godalming Navigation, which is the farthest part of the navigable section of the River Wey. Next week I'll take a stroll along the towpath on the opposite side. See you next week!

We filled up the water tanks just to find out that it was leaking from the fitting in the tank. The second flood was on the engine room when we were filling with anti freezing. We forgot about the breathing tube hidden behind the insulation. So we had a huge flood all over the bilges in the engine room, what a disaster! We get over these humps in the road to launching. We spend a lot of time making a signal mast for the navigation lights. The ones on the market were to expensive so Simon decided he was going to make one with the leftovers of wood that we had. He did such a great job on the carpenters work and the mast looks amazing. Carla does a wonderful job of painting it as well so we have the most beautiful mast in the River we think. A lot of things happened this week that we did not video or did not include, door frame were added, doors were made to name but a few. But the big question is...are we going into the WATER? We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

While doing some boat work aboard the yacht there was a *slight* mishap with one of the cameras taking swim in the Queensway Quay Marina…. Oops 😬 When we needed a break from boat work we headed back to the tunnels from last week to find out what was down the shaft, checked out a WW2 gun near Europa Point (as well a few nearby caves), and took a look around the top section of the Northern Defences, finding bunkers, tunnels, a machine gun nest and a skeleton named Henry. The Quoile regatta kicked off the summer sailing scene on Strangford Lough with a great day out for all the competitors. The sun broke through the cloud to complement the the 12 to 20 knot westerly that pushed the competitors around around the course. As per the rest of the season to date the IRC1 fleet was sparsely with only two boat hitting the start line. It did not stop the Redline Racing crew of "Going to Red" from push their new J109 hard from start to finish. After winning the start they pushed the boat hard to stretch out a big lead over Lion from East Down Yacht club. This was the last hit out on the lock for the Redline Racing Crew before delivering the boat up to Bangor for the upcoming Bangor Town Regatta. Hopefully the rest of the Strangford lough IRC1 fleet gets into gear shortly and we see some larger numbers on the start line for the rest of the Regatta's We hope you enjoyed the crews eye view of the 2022 Quoile regatta, the team at bottom up boats love giving everyone who dreams of taking up sailing both the skills and inspirations to jump on board and give it a go.
