We finally get our Raymarine Autopilot installed! That’s right we’ll be able to make cups of tea on the move! We get a new Scanstrut pod for the binnacle and a Scantrut Rokk wireless phone charging mount, so we have all the gear and no idea as we continue to The Raymarine Autopilot is one of two major upgrades we had planned for our 33 year old sailing boar this year. This involves connecting the Raymarine linear drive, ACU200, GPS Receiver and Autopilot control head, together to make this work. Most Raymarine linear drives are fibre glassed in place, however we take a different approach. We take Indiana out of the marina for her first sea trial to check everything is working and we also see a boat a run aground right outside our berth! Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Andi hat sich in Porto Cheli auf die Suche nach Franks Yachtstation gemacht und diese auch gefunden. Ein kurzes Gespräch mit Christian gibt Aufschluss darüber welchen Service die Yachtstation noch anbietet. Anschließend legen wir ab und segeln bei tollen Wind nach Kilada, dort schauen wir uns auch gleich die große Franchthi Cave an, die sich im Hang gegenüber befindet. Dann, nachdem das erste Gewitter vorbeigezogen ist geht es nach Vivari, eine große geschützte Bucht die von Felsen gesäumt wird. Das Örtchen Vivari ist angenehm ursprünglich und hat viele nette Tavernen direkt am Ufer. Unser gemütlicher Abend in einer dieser Tavernen wird abrupt beendet als sich ein Gewitter in der Ferne bei uns mit plötzlichen Starkwind bemerkbar macht und wir schnell mit dem Dingi, gegen Wind und Welle, zurück ans Schiff müssen um mehr Kette zu geben und zu schauen, ob der Anker hält. Am nächsten Tag schiffern wir Richtung Norden nach Nafplio und machen dort im großen Hafenbecken fest. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Andi searched for Frank's yacht station in Porto Cheli and found it. A short conversation with Christian provides information about the other services the yacht station offers. Then we cast off and sail to Kilada in great winds, where we also have a look at the large Franchthi Cave, which is located on the opposite slope. Then, after the first thunderstorm has passed, we head to Vivari, a large sheltered bay lined with rocks. The village of Vivari is pleasantly original and has many nice taverns right on the shore. Our cozy evening in one of these taverns comes to an abrupt end when a distant thunderstorm makes itself felt with sudden strong winds and we quickly have to return to the ship with the dinghy, against wind and waves, to give more chain and see if the anchor holds. The next day we sail north to Nafplio and moor there in the large harbor basin. Day 1: Piece of nothing....without sailing unfortunately Departure: 09.00 Arrival: 11.30 Distance: 12 miles Weather: Overcast, 17/18 degrees Port charges: Euro 22 Details: Celebrated a little Father's Day, nice conversation antique shop and delicious dinner at No1. We woke up idyllically with sun in the beautiful bay and started, for us then, quietly ;-) Then anchor up (fortunately sandy ground) and motor around the bend to Nykobing. Patty calls the harbour and the harbour master asks if we want to call him just before arrival for a place....he thinks he knows something. And yes....we get a cool spot behind a Dutch coaster. What's nice about that is that, from the deckhouse, we witness the unloading of cattle feed and how that goes with trucks coming and going. For Robin this was no surprise, but for Rob and Pat it was. The difference between the hustle and bustle in Nykobing and the silence of the bay is deafening. After a luxurious Scandinavian lunch, we explore the town. We also want to do some immediate shopping for the return trip, as we have been plotting on that for a few days now....that is,....we are following the wind versus departure options from Thyboron. The town is nice, but the most fun becomes the conversation in the antique shop where we score a ‘schnaps-advent-carafe’ with glasses and the stories both behind it and the Royal Copenhagen china. We ask for a restaurant tip and that answer is simple: No1. We make reservations there and after a few hours of quiet time on board, we have a delicious meal there. We have some brief conversations with locals, as they are genuinely interested in tourists and sailing Dutchmen in particular. Even in the harbour, people regularly walk, cycle and stop to see the Willem Johannes. Funny! Rob packs the last of his things, as he disembarks tomorrow to go by bus (2 hours) to Aalborg, spend a few hours walking there, before flying back to the Netherlands. Day 2: The last stretch beautiful Lymfjord Departure: 08.30 Arrival: 14.30 Distance: 31 miles Weather: sunny, 19 degrees Wind: West, 10-15 kts clearing to S-SW Details: Survived the ‘scary’ bridge After a joint breakfast with Rob, he dismounts and we cast off. The weather is still cloudy and grey then, but it won't last long. We focus first on the bridge just outside Nykobing. The bridge for which we re-measured the WJ for height a few days earlier, as we are 23.20 high (with margin) and the bridge is 26 metres high. You now think....ful....and that's right. And yet we still find it quite exciting. Fortunately, the sea is calm and the bridge landing is easy! We ‘toast’ with coffee and sail on in the sunshine. We can sail much of the route. We unfurl the jib and make speeds of 6.5 kts. Great! To make it to the last swing bridge, we put on some engine and we pass the bridge on the minute tight. We approach the fishing and port industry town of Thyboron and are able to moor well in the harbour. This is usually a chosen stopover for sailors en route to and from destinations from the North Sea. The village has good facilities with fish halls, restaurants, playgrounds for dog (really!) and child, several museums and a long beach. The supermarket is not too exciting, but that is not a shortcoming. We top up 80 litres of diesel from the jerry cans and explore whether we dare the GTL diesel option to top up the tank. We spend the rest of the afternoon walking around, chilling in the sun, chatting with several fellow sailors and we get German neighbours in the evening. A 51-foot Beneteau. At 10pm we want to watch Max's qualification, but we fall asleep just before.....

El motor del velero requiere un mantenimiento mínimo y muy básico y con el cual nos podemos ahorrar un dinero curioso en mecánicos. Siempre debemos empezar por una inspección visual, ver si todo va correctamente, no hay perdidas de aceite o agua y no hace ruidos raros. Entonces comenzamos con hacerle anualmente o cada 200 horas lo siguiente: Cambio de aceite, filtros de gasoil, prefiltros, y rodete de bomba de refrigeración, renovación de agua del motor, el agua rosa. yo la cambio todos los años. Con ese pequeño mantenimiento y por poco que cuidemos nuestro motor, so durara sin fallos eternamente.

The second stretch of the Caribbean Sea, from Curaçao to Panama, I solo sailed it during this episode. This adventure was full of mishaps and surprises. My genoa furler broke on the first day, but the journey kept going. Crossing the Guajira peninsula was challenging as the wind there easily peaks +40 knots, and after it, I came accross with a lot of trash in the Caribbean, with huge tree logs floating around as I got closer to the shore. The last day of navigation was spent in a mix of awe and concern as hundreds of lightnings and thunders ravished through the sky, hopefully welcoming me on my next stop - Colón, Panama, known to be one of most dangerous cities in the world. In this week's episode, as we continue our sailing adventure around Scotland, we depart from the beautiful anchorage in Otter Ferry and sail down to Lochranza. This week we have some great winds, sail at 7/8 knots and Ragdoll once more impresses us with her abilities! Seeing all the castles around the port and exploring inside an ancient church. Austin dives for the anchor. Porto Kagio or Porto Káyio is a seaside village in the East Mani municipality on the eastern side of the Mani Peninsula, Greece. Lo explicaré paso a paso con algunos trucos veréis que un trabajo fácil y rápido de hacer. lo que estoy aplicando es una imprimación porque he cambiado la marca de la patente y con la imprimación te garantiza que la adherencia será perfecta para pintar los huecos y los recovecos donde no entre el rodillo usaremos una brocha bueno pues ya tenemos el trabajo hecho ahora vamos a esperar que seque que aquí hace bastante calor y seguramente en una orilla o antes esté lista pero bueno lo que hago es que aprovecho me voy a comer y a la vuelta damos la primera mano del paciente de acuerdo hoy vamos a aplicar la patente y vamos a hacer exactamente lo mismo que hemos hecho con la imprimación que va a ser abrimos la lata la mezclamos bien vertemos un poco en la cubeta y pintamos con el rodillo cuando aplicamos la patente ahí queda en dos direcciones hay que pintar de arriba a abajo y en el mismo paño hacia los lados vale es el único requisito que tiene por los demás exactamente igual daremos dos manos y terminaremos el trabajo a ver qué tal queda. El rodillo que uso para aplicar el anti fouling es de microfibra de tamaño medio funciona muy bien para este cometido y además lo puedo usar para aplicar las dos capas de patente es importante que respetemos el tiempo de secado entre capas que marca cada fabricante cada marca tiene el suyo La hélice la limpió con la karcher el marinero y le dejó bastante limpia de todas formas yo lo que hice fue darle un antes de pintar con la patente de darle con disolvente y quitarle las antiguas capas que tenía para dejarla así lo que vamos hacer es darle una ligera muy fina el propósito es quitarle veis estas mejillas que se le quedan de como de crustáceos pegados que esto le das con la rasqueta pero ya no se va, una chispita de lija y así abre un poquito de poro para que agarre la imprimación y lo que le vamos a dar dos capas de imprimación y luego tres capas de patente todo especial para hélices.

NAMIBIA!!! WOW.... We found one of the most incredible and remote anchorages we have ever been to! Skylark was surrounded almost 360 degrees by HUGE sand dunes. This stretch of African is harsh and very inhospitable, in places like this, it shows. It was so amazing to be able to experience a remote outpost like this with the comforts of our floating home. It is often referred to as the 'Skeleton Coast'. Also, we have an epic 3 day road trip through the interior of Namibia. Hola amigos/as, Ya estamos otra vez por aquí, estas últimas semanas han sido un poco caóticas pero ya está, estamos a un día de la botadura de Wayra. Mañana 20 de junio es el gran día, después de tantos viajes, esfuerzos y pocas horas de sueño llega el día que llevamos deseando desde hace casi un año pero en este vídeo veréis esta última semana de trabajo, donde hemos ultimado detalles y cosas que faltaban por hacer como instalar el radar, las velas, aplicar el antifouling, entre otras cosas. The supplier says this will give your ride that muscle car sound, and while this is a far cry from a muscle car, it is a very affordable solution. A Saturday taster sail on Squibs Satyr and Lift Off. The day before had been wall to wall sunshine, a good breeze and 34 C. The forecast for our sail was 90% chance of rain. However, those who sail at Rutland Sailing Club will know the local weather sometimes decides to do something quite different - and so it was.

We had two Squibs and Soling out for a sail with our four guests. Four ladies who want to have a go at sailing and we really enjoyed having the aboard. A delight to have Diana sail with myself (Dave) and Jon and had a fun afternoon, even when it rained and we got wet.

On this week, we have the first visitors of the season! Laura's Mum, Dad, and Grandpa. This was the first time on any sail boat, so we wanted to spend a few days showing them parts of the lifestyle. Llegamos al pantalán de PUNTA LAGOA, el la RÍA DE VIGO, embarcamos y nos damos cuenta que la instalación de 220V de a bordo no va, salta el diferencial, además de saltar también el del pantalán. Acto seguido vemos que no tenemos corriente en nuestro circuito de 12V destinado a los servicios del velero. El BMS de las baterías de litio ha saltado para protegerse por cortocircuito o sobretensión.
