The Rating divisions took off at speed from the Dent Passage startline and headed out into the Whitsunday Passage for the Nautilus Marine Insurance Long Islands Race.

The highly anticipated first day of sailing had the Rating divisions setting off from the Eastern Start area under a solid sou-easter. It was game-on for Hamilton Island Wild Oats XI and andoo Comanche in an America’s Cup style dial-up round the start boat in the last two minutes before the start gun.

The Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race came to a thrilling climax on the 16th day of the 1,805 nautical mile race. In a 14-hour flurry, 10 boats finished the race and a passionate dock party on Trinity Landing was followed by a hearty meal at the RORC Clubhouse in Cowes. Five boats are still racing but none of them can realistically better the IRC corrected time scored by JPK 1010 Jangada. This is exactly why I love coming the Tenerife. Oh, not the brothels! The fact that whenever you're not training you can do something totally different and pretty much whatever you're into you can find it there. That day the Medano wind machine was off so we went surfing to the beautiful North and then went up to the mountains to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world (and freeze our assess). After being in quarantine for 4 days with covid on my boat I needed to do something! I decided to go fishing! The fish sure were biting but I couldn't take it for too long! It sure didn't feel good calling it quits when the fish were biting! Such variety too! Lingcod, Rockfish and Dogfish all within an hour. Covid 19 sucks! Just glad to have made it back safe and sound!

Notre contrainte ,comme souvent ,c’est le vent d’Ouest qui nous oblige à tirer des bords et nous fait donc rallonger considérablement le nombre de miles... Du coup nous finissons avec le courant montant dans le nez...chose qui complique notre idée de re-départ. Nous choisissons de rester la nuit sur bouée et partir avec la fin de montante afin d’avoir le temps suffisant pour arriver jusqu’à ST-Hernot en baie de Douarnenez. As I'm prepping for my first voyage next week, I found a day to walk some of the Montgomery Canal, a disused canal straddling the Shropshire-Wales border. It's a lovely canal that is undergoing restoration, and some is open to boats again, although not the section I walked. I wasn't sure when I was filming which bits were open so watch until then end for the correct info when I show you a map! Other things that have happened this week: I've bought grease for my prop, attached my fenders, booked an engine service, tidied out the shed, and ordered some new mooring ropes! Still a lot to do before Ganymede moves for the first time but it's all go until the big day!

During the passage, which lasted 10 days, we had 4 days of sustained winds of 25 to 35 knots gusting to 40 knots, and following seas of 3 to 4 meters.

Well we've been on the road in our motorhome, a Mobilvetta K-Yacht 79, for a week or so now, on our latest trip, and have reached the Mediterranean where we are staying just West of St Tropez. We had to go and see St Tropez and all it's glitz and glamour. We went by water taxi from Le Lavandou - a 2 hour trip up this beautiful coastline!! Sailing Lefkada to our old stomping ground, then onto Parga, The most northern place we've been yet, meeting new sailing friends, helping the street animals and rollie anchorage nightmares! This week we sail from Lefkada in the Ionian sea back to where it all began in Preveza, we meet up with some well known sailing bloggers 'Two Get Lost' and make new friends before we make our way north to a beautiful town called Parga, which is the most northern point we've sailed in the med so far. Trip 2 of our Atlantic Roundtrip 2021/2022 sailing through the Caribbean visiting St.Martin - Martinique - St.Vincent & the Grenadines - Martinique ( again) - Ile des Saints and back to St.Maarten.
