Dimanche 5 février 2023, nous jetons l'ancre dans la baie de Samana en République Dominicaine après 3 jours de navigation assez sympathiques, hormis un peu de houle et quelques grains. Le lendemain, nous faisons la clearance d'entrée et nous allégeons de 6800 pesos l'équivalent de 124 € concernant le visa et le bateau et obtenons le despacho qui lui est gratuit, document officiel nous autorisant à naviguer à l'intérieur du pays. Celui ci nous est octroyé pour une durée de 5 jours maximum afin de nous rendre dans le parc national des Haitises, le joyau de la République Dominicaine. Nous mouillons en plein coeur du parc où se côtoie une forêt primaire inestimable réserve de biodiversité et de vastes mangroves abritant de curieux habitants. Nous sommes émerveillés par la beauté de ce site d'ailleurs, c'est ici que quelques images du film Jurassic Park ont été tournées. Nous aurons l'occasion de croiser des colonies d'oiseaux, dont la buse de Ridgway menacée d'extinction, l'urubu à bec rouge, des canards, des frégates, des pélicans et d'autres oiseaux tout aussi majestueux.

There is only so much you can do to prepare yourself and your ship to sail into the ocean and most of the time the mental preparation is the hardest part. Katy and I are slowly building a rapport with Mother Nature, Seawind, and ourselves when it comes to offshore sailing. Careful decisions and also pushing boundaries is how we have begun to develop this relationship. It needs to be exercised like a muscle to keep it healthy and fit. This is our first time Sailing on our Seawind since putting her to bed for 7 months for hurricane season. We hadn’t been on the Atlantic Ocean for longer. The time has come and we decided to start with an overnight sail from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) to Port Lucaya in Freeport, Grand Bahama. This venture will span 90 miles of Atlantic Ocean and as you know from last week, the sun is setting, and Seawind is merrily sailing along in 10-15 knots on her beam. We are approaching the Gulf Stream and as the sun sets I make some dinner for us. We settle into a beautiful night of sailing. A clear sky and lots of stars. Our lucky Orion Constellation guiding us forward towards our destination. We make port at around 10am the next morning, perfectly timing our sailing to arrive with the correct tides. It’s just like riding a bike, right? After checking into The Bahamas country with customs and immigration, we sleep for most of the day, and also through the night awaking with a new outlook on life because of the incredible rest. Attraverso l'uso delle carte nautiche, del compasso e delle squadrette, la pianificazione della rotta è il momento in cui si decide dove andare e come arrivarci, definendo una rotta sicura con dei margini di errore, identificando i punti più critici della navigazione come bassi fondali, punti cospicui di riferimento e vie di fuga. Come si pianifica la rotta in crociera Nel video viene illustrato un esempio di pianificazione rotta da farsi insieme all'equipaggio, e relativo calcolo della distanza, della durata su cui basare la verifica del carburante imbarcato. Nell'esempio del video, vediamo come lo skipper e l'equipaggio tracciano una rotta per navigare dall'uscita dell'imboccatura di ponente della diga foranea di Spezia, fino al porto di Viareggio, su una carta generale, e utilizzano il portolano per avere informazioni essenziali sul pilotaggio finale. Alcuni consigli per la pianificazione di rotta La pianificazione di rotta è tema di esame per la patente nautica, vogliamo aggiungere a compendio della teoria e dei contenuti del video, alcuni consigli per la pianificazione di rotta: Oltre che carta e portolano, sono molto utili le mappe dei porti e dei fondali limitrofi alla zona di atterraggio I punti cospicui (fari, fanali, boe, mede, riferimenti a terra) per la navigazione costiera, vanno cercati prima sulla carta e poi nella realtà. Questo per ridurre il rischio di scambiare un punto cospicuo per un altro, convincendoci di aver individuato quello giusto. Per un buon pilotaggio, si devono identificare alcuni waypoint intermedi, marcarli sulla carta e sul gps elettronico, e averli come riferimento durante la navigazione. Pianificare una rotta alternativa in caso di maltempo o emergenza Verificare la rotta tracciata sulla carta nautica con quella tracciata sul plotter o sulle app di navigazione. Leggere le ordinanze relative alla zona del porto di arrivo. Das neue Deckshaus wird montiert, das Dach endgültig fertig zusammengefügt Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei generalüberholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Nem o Delegado da polícia Civil, nem o Promotor e nem Juiz concederam-me o direito constitucional do contraditório. Não me ofereceram uma única chance de defesa. Defesa do princípio maior da nossa Constituição Federal que é o Direito à Liberdade. Inclusive ao direito à vida, pois eu poderia ter morrido na cadeia. O advogado representante do Sindicato Rural de Nova Crixás, é famoso e experiente. Portanto, sabia que o assunto sobre o Imposto Territorial Rural (ITR), era, e ainda é, de competência federal. Mas ele sabia, também, que suas alegações não constituíam em crime perante a Receita Federal e, mesmo que fossem, a eventual demora para uma ação da Receita Federal ou da própria Polícia Federal, impedi-lo-ia de atingir o fim proposto que era interromper a fiscalização do imposto. As normas referentes ao ITR são claras. Qualquer problema criado pelo município, o contribuinte pode recorrer à Receita Federal. Ignorou-as, pois seria muito mais fácil recorrer à Justiça estadual onde dispunha de muita influência e poder. Assim, mesmo sendo inconstitucional, a justiça estadual acatou todas suas alegações, ipsis litteris, inclusive a absurda tese de prisão preventiva e o governo do Estado de Goiás cedeu seu poderio policial para efetuar a sensacional prisão de dois velhos pais de família. Quase todas as propriedades rurais do município de Nova Crixás caíram na malha fiscal por erro no preenchimento da declaração anual. No entanto, 80% delas eram improcedentes, ou seja, bastava o contribuinte comprovar a produtividade da fazenda e a multa era sumariamente baixada, sem necessidade de Laudo ou qualquer pedido formal. Entre as multas procedentes a maioria eram de baixo valor e o Laudo ficaria mais caro que a própria multa. Restando em torno de 20 produtores que a multa compensaria um laudo agronômico. Quando descobri que o Sindicato estava fazendo laudos para todos os produtores, independentemente da necessidade, e se negava a conversar a respeito do assunto, resolvi fazer uma carta para os produtores, recomendando-os buscar mais informação no município. O objetivo era que eles deixassem de gastar dinheiro com laudo. Essa carta foi a principal prova de corrupção e exaustivamente comentada no inquérito. Pergunto: Quem vai fazer corrupção manda carta para mais de 100 produtores? Acho que essas coisas são tratadas pessoalmente, nem por telefone. Pegaram um áudio que eu disse uma única vez, para uma insistente pessoa (armação) que fazia laudo, exceto para os municípios para os quais eu trabalhava. Como ficou constatado, não encontraram nenhuma prova que eu propus fazer laudo para algum produtor. Uma das alegações foi a de que o município estava impugnando seus laudos. Mas ele, como bom advogado, sabia que o município não tem competência para impugnar laudos. O que o município fazia, e tem que fazer, é apresentar suas alegações discordando do produtor, se for o caso. Entretanto, se o contribuinte não concordar com o município, o próprio município é obrigado a enviar o laudo para a Receita Federal. Outra alegação, para justificar a prisão preventiva, é a de que os fiscais poderiam interferir na Declaração anual do ITR que seria feita no final de outubro. Ora, todos sabem que o ITR é declaratório, ou seja, o fazendeiro avalia como quiser suas terras, e toda a Declaração é feita pela internet. Qual o risco de influência dos fiscais? Mas pelo menos reconheço que o referido advogado é poderoso. Além de ter alcançado seus objetivos, a prisão foi um sucesso na cidade. A metade da população parou para assistir o alvoroço policial e todas mídias do estado noticiaram. Amargurei 59 dias de cadeia e tive toda minha vida profissional detonada. Todas prefeituras para quais trabalhava rescindiram meu contrato, sem pagamento. Minha filha gastou quase toda sua poupança para contratar um bom advogado criminalista em Goiânia. Um professor de Direito da Universidade Federal que foi eficaz, conseguindo minha liberdade em poucos dias depois da sua contratação. Tenho uma pequena aposentadoria que me permite viver modestamente. Nunca tive um câncer ou outra doença grave. Mas comparo minha prisão à cura de um câncer. Passei a dar muito mais valor à vida. Hoje sou apaixonado no meu cão, nos meus filhos, netos, na minha casa, até nas flores. Quando decidi fazer esses vídeos não foi pensando em vingança, mesmo porque, os vídeos serão irrelevantes frente ao poderio dos acusadores. Mas, como inquérito foi extinto sem processo e, portanto, sem julgamento, sinto que ficou uma lacuna inexplicável entre a motivação da minha prisão e da minha soltura. As pessoas perguntam: por que fui preso e como fui solto? Outra motivação foi com relação a meus filhos. Quero deixar alguma coisa que possa lembrar-lhes que ainda sou aquele homem honesto que os criou dentro dos princípios rígidos da ética e, também, para os amigos mais chegados que defenderam minha inocência contra ataques maldosos. e-mail: sinomarg@gmail.com

Towards the end of last summer I noticed a very subtle vibration in the wheel. It was almost unnoticeable. I checked inside the boat and didn’t find anything unusual. But I knew we needed to drop the rudder just to make sure there was no structural issues. As it turned out, there was a fairly serious crack in the rudder, hidden by the skeg, that could have caused a catastrophic failure. Perhaps it could have been repaired, but no use taking a chance. We would always be thinking about it. The rudder post was also pitted. It will take 4-6 weeks and will be one more major issue, we no longer have to worry about.

The new Beneteau First 44 is making its debut at the Miami International Boat Show, and it’s taking the racer-cruiser concept a couple of interesting steps forward. The First 44 version, geared more toward cruising, places the mast further aft, puts four winches within easy access of both helms, and most interestingly, employs push-button water ballast to allow shorthanded sailors to easily add stabilizing “crew weight” for enhanced sailing ability in a wider range of conditions. The deck layout for the First 44 Performance version, geared more toward racing, is notably different, featuring a nonskid foam cockpit sole, a traditional mainsheet traveler rather than a fixed centerline block, and additional winches.

This is a review of the anchormatic system / akterankare spel. I can honestly recommend this product to anyone looking for a stern windlass system for skärgården or other places in Sweden.
