This was the most exciting and the scariest week sailing ever! 😬 Since we left the Canary Islands we have been covering a lot of distance fast down the wind. The Atlantic was super rough at times making all of us feel sick, it has been crazy. It was interesting to think about how isolated we were from everything. During one cold, windy night our Spinnaker broke, right at midnight! That was a challenging night but thankfully we managed to fix it. The sunsets and sunrises were so beautiful. We also saw a lot of dolphins on the way and every time it was so exciting to see them, we love it! In this episode I answer some of your questions from Instagram regarding our sailing. I also interviewed the kids to see what they like or dislike about the journey. You will also get to see what activities we do as a family during a long voyage like this to keep us not bored. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Concussion Concussion is a common injury in many sports, particularly contact sports such as football, hockey, and rugby as well as Sailing. Athletes who experience concussion should be removed from the game immediately and should not be allowed to return until they have been evaluated by a medical professional. Sports organisations and teams have developed protocols for managing concussions, such as the "concussion protocol", which involves a series of steps that must be followed before a player can return to play. These steps typically include rest, cognitive and physical testing, and a gradual return to activity. It's important to take concussions seriously, as repeated head injuries can have long-term effects on an athlete's health and well-being. Volare boasts the largest cockpit of any boat in her class. The seating area is 12’ x 15’! The space is sheltered from the sun with a hard top, providing an out of eyesight spot for solar panels, and offers shade no matter which angle the sun is coming in at. Volare’s cockpit can seat 12 people for sundowners and appetizers. The main engine is a Cummins 4BT, one of the most reliable and easy to work on truck motors in the world. She cruises in the 6-7 knot range, the engine cruises at 1 gph. Her fastest crossing of the Sea of Cortez had her surfing at 9-12knots for much of the passage. Her davit system is easy and efficient to use, allowing the dinghy to be recovered or launched very quickly. 500W solar, 17 gph watermaker, 400ah LiFePO4 house battery, 200 gallons of fuel, 250 gallons of water gives the boat offshore endurance. Il presidente tunisino Kais Saied ha detto di no a 1,9 miliardi di dollari che il Fondo Monetario gli avrebbe prestato a condizione di ulteriori riforme e ulteriori sacrifici: "Noi non prendiamo ordini dall'estero e ce la faremo da soli". Ma quest'ultima cosa non è vero: la Tunisia, con l'enorme debito pubblico, l'alta inflazione e il gran numero di disoccupati da sola non può farcela. E infatti si sta avvicinando a grandi passi ad entrare nell'orbita della Cina che intensificherà i suoi investimenti nel Paese. Già negli anni passati ha "regalato" alcune infrastrutture e ha progetti per farne altre. E in cambio di questi investimenti, avrà la possibilità di accedere a rare materie prime e, soprattutto, a dare alle proprie aziende la possibilità di accedere facilmente al mercato Europeo. E Europa e Italia pagano per la loro miopia di affrontare la crisi tunisina e degli altri Paesi dell'Africa solo nell'ottica di limitare i flussi migratori

Äntligen dags för ett nytt avsnitt, och i det här avsnittet är vi ombord på en 107 fot lång segelbåt, 107 fot av lyx! Vår Albin Alphas 29 fot känns helt plötsligt väldigt små. Vi lyckas ta oss upp på en höjd för att se starten på regattan Rorc 600 - en race på 600 distans med 70 deltagande segelbåtar. Riktigt häftigt att se allt ovanifrån! Vi passar också på att snorkla, väldigt mycket! Det blir massor med djurliv så som rockor, sköldpaddor, drakfiskar, languster och mycket mer! Ett avsnitt som skiljer sig mycket från våra tidigare då vi gör ett "studiebesök" i Karibien - och vi gillade det! I need this for a tent cover and also to be able to place fenders in different positions, depending on what i'm doing. So I get an idea from another product and then see what I can come up with using my 3D printer!
