Bienvenue sur ma chaîne YouTube, dans cette vidéo, je vous présente la restauration complète de la remorque de mon bateau bien-aimé, le Xavi 1, réalisée au cours du mois d'avril et du début du mois de mai. La remorque de mon bateau était dans un état de délabrement avancé, avec de la rouille, des parties déformées et des problèmes de fonctionnement. J'ai décidé de relever le défi de la restaurer moi-même, et j'ai documenté tout le processus pour vous le partager aujourd'hui. Dans cette vidéo, vous allez découvrir les différentes étapes de la restauration de la remorque. Tout d'abord, j'ai commencé par démonter entièrement la remorque afin d'inspecter chaque pièce et d'évaluer les dégâts. J'ai ensuite procédé au nettoyage en profondeur, en enlevant la rouille et en préparant les surfaces pour les travaux de réparation. Ensuite, je me suis attaqué aux réparations nécessaires. J'ai soudé et renforcé les parties déformées, remplacé les pièces endommagées et effectué les ajustements nécessaires pour assurer un bon fonctionnement de la remorque. J'ai également appliqué une couche de peinture de haute qualité pour protéger la remorque contre la corrosion future. Pendant la restauration, j'ai rencontré quelques défis intéressants, notamment la recherche de pièces de rechange et l'adaptation de certains éléments pour s'adapter parfaitement à la remorque. J'ai également partagé des conseils et des astuces que j'ai appris tout au long du processus, afin que vous puissiez les appliquer si vous entreprenez une restauration similaire. Enfin, j'ai testé la remorque avec mon bateau Xavi 1 pour m'assurer qu'elle était prête à prendre la route et à transporter mon précieux bateau en toute sécurité. One of our biggest challenges with Reverie is that the portlights (deadlights) were seriously abused. They were cracked and the glass was completely hazed to the point you could not see outside. We were concerned with replacing them as Reverie being a 1985 Pearson Sailboat, we did not know if we would be able to find an exact replacement. But we lucked out! Beckson Marine makes the exact same size portlight (window) as the one we needed and to give us a bonus, they also made a portlight version that was the same size and had an integrated portlight with screen. This gave us the opportunity to add two additional portlights for ventilation. The installation was relatively easy, but it had its challenges. In modern boats, manufacturers realized that they needed to stiffen the area around the windows in order to prevent leaks over time. So at the factory they filled the space between the deck and deck liner with an epoxy compound. This creates a bond between the liner and deck and provides a solid surface to screw the windows without creating compression issues or install glued-on windows like you see in most modern boats. Unfortunately, that was not the case with Reverie. So we had to start doing research and putting on out thinking hats to find a solution to our problem which we did!. Episode 25: Sailing, storms and Rolly Anchorages Rounding the Peloponnese Part 2 This episode Cass and Shelly continue their course around the Peloponnese. The next several days bring foul weather and some long days at sail. This is the reality of sailing, make plans based upon weather, watch the weather predictions change or be different from what was predicted, decide in the moment to change directions and head another 6 hours away to a different anchorage. We were disappointed to not see more of Kithera than at sea but that’s our life. We arrived late at night after sailing in wind, heavy rains, rolly seas and gusty passages around Cape Maleas. The lights of the castle were something to see as we came in under an almost full moon lite sky and set anchor in an unknown anchorage. We woke up to a beautiful morning in Monemvasia and found a very convenient fuel station. We went ashore to get 3 tanks of diesel, 1 tank of gas and a few provisions in town before heading to our next anchorage in Poulithra. A beautiful quiet anchorage by a church. Shawna and their 3 young children were rescued by a cargo ship, and taken to Hawaii, while Travis refused to let their boat sink without him. He had a long way to go back to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and it was about to be the craziest adventure of his entire life... We made a one week long trip through Tunisia with a rental, most of which through the Sahara desert. We have seen a huge colosseum, slept in a cave hostel, went to oases, made a visit to the Tatooine Star Wars filmset in the desert, rode on camels and did some other stuff . We had a great time!
