Sobre todo nos reímos mucho, pero mucho.A la mañana, después de un buen desayuno, cogemos la carta náutica correspondiente y planteamos la derrota: Saldremos por el medio de las Islas Cíes con un rumbo Oeste hasta separarnos veinte millas de la costa.Nuestra ilusión es cruzarnos con alguna ballena azul, que están pasando por esta zona debido a que se van a reunir más al norte para la época de la freza.Una vez llegamos allí, ponemos proa al faro de Finisterre. Es un lugar que tiene magia. No se, a mí me transmite energía y todos los tripulantes que me acompañan sienten lo mismo. Una vez en Finisterre, brindamos, nos alegramos y damos rumbo a la playa de Rodas, en las islas Cíes. Eso sí, no sin antes calcular la derrota, ya que por el camino, hay que sortear un sinfín de bajos como los de Corrubedo.No te pierdas este vídeo. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.

This episode was not to teach how to install a windlass or to quickly show how we did it, it was more to show you guys a more realistic view of how our days go by at the yard. It’s been almost a year since we sold Curiosity in New Zealand and began the build of Curiosity 2.  And when we purchased, the HH44 was little more than a concept with a few digital renderings.  They hadn’t even started building the molds yet.  But it ticked all the boxes we really wanted in a boat. In concept, it was as close to “the perfect boat” as we could imagine.  Because HH would be building it from the ground up with strength, performance, and self-reliance in mind.  There’s no way any retrofit we could ever do would be nearly as good...right?! In this episode we are finally ready to push North from Bocas Del Toro in Panama. It is not easy to find a good weather window to dig yourself out of the bottom of the Caribbean Sea and this first leg of the journey requires some creativity in our passage planning. We arrive in San Andrés, a Colombian island in the Caribbean Sea that is closer to Nicaragua than Colombia but is a hive of holiday makers and locals which gave it a fun and exciting vibe we weren't expecting. We make the most of our few short days and get some kite surfing in, take a buggy around the island and plan for the next leg to Cayman Islands through notorious pirate waters. There has been over 20 reports of piracy or attempted piracy in this area within the last 5 years and we take these seriously and discuss our options while in the safety of the harbour... but what will it really be like when we get out there? Leaving Louisa Island we quickly explore New Harbour before exploring Ketchem Bay, where we had been told of a very secluded hidden anchorage. Launching the drone reveals this spectacular this anchorage. After a quick snorkel, we round South West Cape and put the fishing rod out after seeing many schools of tuna. With a few hook-ups and bust offs from big fish, we land an incredible bright blue Tasman Mako shark. We end the day pulling into Bramble Cove at the entrance to Bathurst Harbour. The final day of the 2023 Southern Wind Rendezvous started in light breeze that only got lighter as the day went on. Much as the fleet would have liked to get a final group sail in, the weather conditions were nevertheless perfect for some fun in the sun. The Southern Wind fleet headed off to the Pevero bay to show what aft opening beach platforms are all about.

Situated near the gateway to Pacific Northwest cruising, Anacortes, Washington is a trawler heavy city with a picturesque backdrop – a great combination and exactly what attendees at this year's TrawlerFest event hoped for! The event kicked off on May 16th at Cap Sante Marina with a huge variety of boats at the in-water boat show - most of them shown in this Dock, Walk and Talk. It was great attending a boat show with…boats! That may sound wrong, but this is one of the first shows since the arrival of Covid that had a variety of selection, a strong group of buyers and sellers, and the atmosphere was charged with positive vibrations. The docks at Cap Sante Marina are easy to walk around, solid, clean and for this show they were packed with boats – small to large, both sail and power. The combination of TrawlerFest with the Anacortes Boat and Yacht Show has proven to be a great way to attract the public. Flags, banners and signs adorned the boats and docks creating the festive scenery that is so appealing. The fact that the sun shined, and the breeze was soft also contributed to a great sense of well-being. Since we are geared towards trawlers and motor yachts, we will not go into detail on the assortment of sailboats on display, but there was an impressive variety! Part one of our Pacific crossing from Panama to Hiva Oa in the Marquesas archipelago. The preparation, visas, debris and squall dodging as well as bird watching on our foredeck mid-ocean! We joined three other catamarans on the equator for Neptune’s right of passage ceremony to re-affirm our previously gained Shellback status and no longer Pollywogs. We also paddled across the equator by surfski and swam in the amazingly blue 2000m deep abyss!

An insgesamt 3 Tagen konnten wir mit 5 Polyfalken ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️ die Binnenseen rund um Sneek unsicher machen. Am Samstag führte uns die Tour ins Herzen von Sneek ❤️, wo wir zur Mittagspause eintrafen. Die Abende haben wir gemeinsam bei Rufus ausklingen lassen. Es wurde spät und viel gefeiert. 🥳🎉

Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Getauft wurde sie auf den stolzen Namen Meera. Nach dem ersten Winterlager mit der Überarbeitung des Unterwasserschiffs, sind wir 2022 in unsere erste Segelsaison gestartet. Also kommt mit auf unsere Reise die Welt zu erkunden, für den Anfang erstmal die Ostsee. Da wir noch echte Rookies sind, müssen wir erstmal lernen zu Segeln und was es heißt abhängig von der Natur zu sein. Bevor es in die weite Welt hinaus geht, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns.
