This video answers a question we get asked so often. What is the best time of year to sail in Croatia? Nick gives his opinion after sailing in Croatia for over 6 years. =========================== TRANSCRIPT All right. Number 2. What is the best time of year to sail in Croatia? Very subjective. Very very very subjective. Again. Because. I'm going to use the Dektos crew as an example right now. I'm going down to meet them and I've sailed with them for the last couple of weeks. They have basically said. We love this. They've been sailing here the last two weeks. And they sailed Christmas, New Year. They love this. They love not having to reserve ... there are no boats on the water. It's just absolutely stunning. And they're not even planning, by choice to come back in the high season. Bought a boat in Croatia and they're not planning on sailing in the high season simply because they love it so much in this time, right now. And we've been swimming, ah tee shirt weather. It's been cold as well. I've been through four seasons today. I drove through Dugopolje, there was a big hail storm that came through on another one of my clients who are doing bareboat assist right now and they just got hammered on the corner of Hvar. They got hail 2 inches on the deck and now the sun is out and I'm in my tee shirt again and I'm sweating. So again it's subjective. So, what do you want out of your sailing? What is the best time of year? You've just got to consider all these factors and figure out what it is you want from there. If you want hot, parties, you know, like hustle and bustle and all that, it's going to be mid season, July, August, September okay that's going to be your time. If you want still everything to be open and a little bit of vibe but not super crowded, super crowded, you're going to be looking at May, June and end of September, October. Okay, if you're looking at cruising around the islands and not really having to outlay a lot of money, all sorts of stuff like that and just be chilled out then. Look winter. I love winter. Generally I stay out, if you're going to plan, don't do March. Cos, we've had some serious Bura's in March. And this week, we take a peek into the heart and soul of boat construction, where every minuscule detail counts and the devil himself hangs out.  From design tolerances to why epoxy is superior, we're pulling back the curtain on the wizardry that goes into building our HH44 and all these vessels. Getting unfettered access to the HH factory, the people, and the process has been invaluable.  This is obviously a highly talented crew and every step of the process is carefully thought out.  From the materials they choose to the intricate electrical systems, it's clear that attention to detail is their secret sauce.  Which gives us a ton of confidence in our boat for when the time comes to set sail.  Because Ricardo is right, something will inevitably fail.  And when it does, we will know exactly where it is and how to get to it.  Fixing it will be another beast all together, but that's future us problems.  For now, we're soaking up all the knowledge we can and enjoying this part of the journey. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. All five VO65s left The Hague in full racing trim on Thursday afternoon, heading into Stage 3 of the VO65 Sprint... and there is an update on their positions further down. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the IMOCA fleet, where a dramatic collision has left three boats still on the course and racing towards Genova. One boat has retired from the leg after assuming responsibility for the accident, and the race leading 11th Hour Racing Team is dockside in The Hague and has been working through the night to determine the extent of the damage, begin repairs and assess their options for a return. The incident itself was the type of accident that regrettably happens on rare occasions in racing. But it is a shock to see it here, in conditions of daylight and good visibility and on an uncrowded race course. After 11th Hour Racing Team tacked on the layline for the next turning mark and established itself as the stand on 'right of way' boat, the crew on GUYOT environnement - Team Europe, required to give-way in this situation, apparently didn't see the other boat until it was too late. The resulting collision caused enough damage to send both boats back to port.

Depuis presque deux ans j’attend d’être à Lefkada pour aller chez way point résoudre un problème d’adaptation du tangon Selden sur un mat Zspar ….La dessus, panne de propulseur d’étrave qui m’oblige à tous démonter au fur et à mesure,relaie puis panneau de commande etc ….Puis changement de batterie du propulseur et du dessalinisateur. Pour la première fois j’achète des batteries de qualité victron. J’ai modifié le jingle d’ intro qui était trop long .

Top Must See Locations in Staniel Cay & Little Farmers Cay Bahamas There are so many things to see on these two Cay’s that you definitely won’t get bored. From swimming pigs, nurse sharks, a real 007 moment at Thunderball grotto, to exploring caves and so much more. If that’s not enough the beaches, crystal blue water, and killer restaurants and tiki bars will for sure have you coming back for more. Staniel Cay is like a playground for your senses. It is a bigger town with lots of grocery stores, restaurants, tons of activities and wild life. Littler Farmers Cay is a bit more laid back and sleepy. The population of the island is around 54 and they were the nicest and most welcoming folks ever. There are tons of hikes, diving and even some cave action too. I feel like we are really getting in to this relaxed Bahama lifestyle. The slower pace and not sweating the small stuff is becoming easier and easier. Not to say that we are not having our share of woes. Living on a boat always has its plethora of challenges. I just think we are looking at it in a different way and just working the problem and not focusing on the issues. Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi 84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Getauft wurde sie auf den stolzen Namen Meera. Nach dem ersten Winterlager mit der Überarbeitung des Unterwasserschiffs, sind wir 2022 in unsere erste Segelsaison gestartet. Also kommt mit auf unsere Reise die Welt zu erkunden, für den Anfang erstmal die Ostsee. Da wir noch echte Rookies sind, müssen wir erstmal lernen zu Segeln und was es heißt abhängig von der Natur zu sein. Bevor es in die weite Welt hinaus geht, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns.
