Finally I fix that damn diesel tank that has been bothering me since...four month, I think?! So far it looks like he splash zone is holding up, so at least that means that some of the holes are fixed for now 🤣🤣🤣. Apart from that, I felt that it was time to get away from the boat a bit, so I went on a little hike with my awesome friends. What a treat! Frewin Island is really paradise found. A tiny village in the centre and a perfect golden sand beach bordering onto a vibrant coral reef, coupled with loads of friendly and curious kids and you have found the right spot. After being solo for the past months it was very nice to welcome Ylva back and also have Lias visit. We all just needed a holiday and enjoyed the long lazy days immensely. Lisa painted a pair of beautiful women in the galley which I really love! LIFE IS GOOD! NEW!!! After having stripped Victoria of her interior, we now move on to disassembling her hull by removing her cockpit, aft deck and then her rudder. Almost all of the mahogany that is being stripped from her is being saved and we will reuse as much of it as we can in Arabella's build. As for her rudder, the hardware is priceless to us. All of her rudder hardware, excluding the tiller head, will be reused. And of course we are learning so much about the construction of this type of construction as we take her apart and that in itself is priceless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW US: Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/acorntoarabella Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acorntoarabella/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/acorntoarabella Website: http://www.acorntoarabella.com

Victoria and its people treated us so well! We do some fun things, learn about the history of British Columbia and then leave Canada and cruise back to the U.S. We clear customs in Friday Harbor where we visit the Whale Museum. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. all ELECTRIC sailboat motor range test and Bahamas grocery shopping while sailing to Marsh Harbor we didn't have enough wind to continue to sail, so we decided no better time than now to test the range of our electric motor and share the results. So many of you have been asking, if we have missed anything be sure to comment below your questions. We are heading south to Eleuthera and Exumas, so we decided Marsh Harbor is a great place to reprovision before leaving. We take the scenic route there. And stock up on all sorts of Keto goods. hope you enjoy this episode! big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona If you would like even MORE content or would like to support our video production, consider becoming a patron here: https://www.patreon.com/beauandbrandy facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy Music: Dreamers Of The Shore - Volcan Peaks Against A Paler Sun - Hushed Fumes - [ocean jams] High Altitude 3 - Jack Elphick Magnetic Fields - Tomas Skyldeberg Love For The Ocean - Martin Hall

With Nandji in Dire Straits of repair, with 2nm left to reach the boat yard surely nothing else could go wrong... https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, after months of sailing and pushing both ourselves and Nandji, we arrive to the island of Langkawi where we plan to complete extensive boat work. We first decided to come to Langkawi for the tax free imports to the island and the fact there was 4 different boatyards to choose from. This must mean lots of boats and lots of places to get things done. But don't assume these things as we discover. We shop around for a boatyard and finally after waiting a week, off to the boat yard we go and are hauled out and life on the hard stand stand begins. We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have just sailed 2000nm through Indonesia and have arrived to Malaysia to complete major boat work, ready for the next big adventure. We departed Australia 18 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced different cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! There's a saying "you're only one broken bolt away from a 3 days ordeal" and in this episode, we break 2... Cue the long and painful process to get these bolts out and finish the jobs we started which was merely just to repack our stuffing box. After the bolt drama, we get to work repairing and fiber glassing the damaged keel which has finally dried! You will not be disappointed as Aquarius visits Palmerston, part of the Cook Islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It’s an island with no shops, nor restaurants, and only about “30 something” inhabitants. Palmerston has unique history - In 1863, one dude, William Marsters, with 3 wives, moves onto the uninhabited Island, and starts a family of 23 children! The rest is His Story! When we arrive, Aquarius and Crew are "adopted" by the local family who own the mooring ball we hook. They made us feel like part of the family, and took great care of us - Transportation to and from shore each morning, and a large delicious lunch each afternoon. We also meet up with a very special local, Bill Clinton. Bill is one of the great conversationalist of our time! While we chat, and debate, all the world’s issues, Bill serves up coffee, cake, and YES - ice-cream! For and encore, Bill makes it rain coconut water……. YOU GOT TO SEE THIS. And If that's not enough, we make a short visit to Beveridge Reef - a submerged atoll in the middle of the Pacific ocean... Well... sit back get comfortable, and start watchin’… Join us! Thanks so much for watching! Stay tuned as next Friday 12PM EST we release a new video! READ THIS DESCRIPTION FOR BEST OPTIONS: Catamaran Impi is sailing around the world. For Impi, cruising pleasure comes from doing preventative maintenance projects and this is about our QUICK windlass strip and assemble project with a 10 year old windlass on a boat that sails full time and occupants who live at anchor all over the world. I am not one to feel passionate about doing technical videos, however, when folks heard I was stripping our windlass to replace bearings and seals, brushes to the motor and more, they asked me to please video the event. This video is therefore for ordinary sailors like you and me (and not for the expert) - it is how we achieve this with limited means and with limited resources to tools living on our boat. We sail to Keswick Island and meet a great couple living on the island that give us a ride back to their place which has magnificent views over the island and sea. We head on to North Keppel Island before going to Yeppoon. We hire a car from the Keppel Bay Marina and drive to pick up Emma and Robert from the Rockhampton airport.

After two and a half weeks of waiting, we finally got a mooring ball in Boot Key Harbor. Now the real work (and fun) begins. We drove up to Tampa to pick up our new electric dinghy motor as well as to visit with family. When we got back to the harbor, we immediately tested the new motor out by taking her for a spin to go scout out some lobster spots. Although the visibility was bad, leading to it being quite a challenge to find lobster holes, we had a successful first test of the motor, and a great day out on the water. That evening, we made sushi from some yellow jack that Adventureman Dan gifted us. This is liveaboard boat life in the Florida Keys. In this video we continue to learn from Brian the mechanic. How to change a transmission, how to relock the dripless seal, how to inspect your marine diesel engine system and how to ensure the rust stops in your engine room, to nake just a few!. He is teaching us alot and is an excellent communicator as well as an expert marine diesel mechanic. Plus, he has his Master's Captain License and has vast experience sailing on the ocean. Watch as he confirms our 'hunch' that it was, indeed, the transmission and not fuel system issues. Best of all, he makes some suggestions and improvements to our auxiliary engine and 'power plant' for our liveaboard sailboat. What an awesome mechanic! While waiting in No Name Harbor for a weather window to cross the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas, we took a day to explore the Cape Florida Lighthouse - also known as The Horrifying Lighthouse Of Death. Tambi and Molly thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I, on the other hand - a chronic sufferer of acrophobia, did not enjoy ascending the spiraling, wobbling, never-ending staircase of The Horrifying Lighthouse Of Death. Despite my fear, I not only made it to the top, but I also persuaded my jello-like legs to take me out of the lighthouse, onto the exterior walkway, and all the way around the very top of The Horrifying Lighthouse Of Death. The day after we visited The Horrifying Lighthouse Of Death, we had an impromptu dinghy race around No Name Harbor. The competition was fierce. The variety of racers were a diverse crowd, consisting of a Canadian, a Sailor Girl, a Chihuahua, and a Baby. Thanks for watching!! We escape winter and slip down to Cayo Coco for a week of beach, snorkeling and sailing on a catamaran! (no we're not going to the dark side) We're invited to an amazing underground CAVE PARTY and then we make a HUGE announcement for 2019! Also back in Halifax we re-bed our starboard side porthole which has been leaking for a while now. If you like these videos, please SUBSCRIBE to see more, and be sure to give this video a like! In August of 2017 I sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and the occasional crewmembers(s) as we navigate the east coast of North America and beyond. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard in a cold climate. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos! La Paz anchorage has very shallow sections and just after dinner we hit the bottom!
