Whale Sharks in Cenderawasih Bay, West Papua, Indonesia Cenderawasih Bay has become a popular destination in Indonesia to dive/snorkel with Whale Sharks. The biggest fish on earth come to the traditional Indonesian fishing platforms, the "bagan", to feed on the small little fish (ikan puri) which the fishermen are catching during the night. For many generations, the fishermen believe that those gigantic fish bring them good luck. It definitely does! When visiting Cenderawasih Bay, remember good practices of diving/snorkeling with Whale Sharks and please do not touch, ride or chase them. September 2018 Enjoy!

February 4, 2019. Exiting the Old Bahama Channel we are beset by contrary currents and light winds which threaten to drag us back into the busy shipping channel, as well as toward the coast of Cuba. So I spend much of the evening on deck hand steering, trying to effect whatever headway I can make given the nearly non-existent winds. Around midnight the winds fill in from the northeast, and by morning we are skirting the south side of Cay Sal. The Gulf Stream is fairly benign despite the northeasterly winds, and we arrive in Marathon Key, Florida, just after noon on February 6, having thus completed the 1,000 mile passage, anchor up to anchor down, in just under eleven days. It's been a goal of ours (well mostly Rileys) to live off the land for as long as we can. It'd be nice if we could grow veggies onboard, but I'll have to stick to herbs for now. We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? WANT ME TO MAKE MORE VIDEOS? https://www.patreon.com/chrisbiasutti PLEASE SUBSCRIBE - https://bit.ly/2HPyDWB We've been living aboard Family Circus for a little over two years now and I still haven't done a tour of our home... until now! There's a lot less space living aboard a boat compared to living in a house and I'll show you how we make it work for us on board Family Circus. Plus I'm excited to share with you our 2019 sailing plans and what we need to do to make them a reality. The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we started an adventure that changed our lives. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe-5KWJ3eQ8QA3WTWnHuSLg CLICK THE BELL to know when new Videos are up! Best tricolor / anchor / strobe masthead light I could find out there! LED advantage for low electrical consumption , small & light so little windage, anodized machined aluminum and glass (not weak plastic that weathers quickly in the sun and rain) , very easy to install, certified USCG Colreg 72 – 2nm , waterproof mini connector makes it easy to put through small holes, threaded top to allow easy mount of Davis Windex. I can attest to great after-sales service of company. Thanks to Alejandro Burgos for support. Filmed in February 2019.

As last year I empty out the small amount of standing water in my watertank so I can fill on some clean and fresh water in the spring, someting I discover is a lot of sand in my tank, maybe pretty normal but still a bit odd the habor has so much sand in the water system. In my examination of my navigation equipment I discover that I have to wait a long time before my gps chartplotter find the satellites, and the NO FIX symbol appears for a long time. In this video I show you why the error appears and how to fix it very cheap.

What better way to celebrate the 12 year old birthday of a boat kid than a mad food fight on a remote white sandy beach in the Caribbean? Our son David turned 12 while we were here in Antigua and we had a great day, starting out with life raft drills with 6 other boat families (we all take safety at sea seriously out here), followed by some crazy fun with the beach food fight, rounding out the day nicely with a beach campfire (including some pinata madness). In this episode we also explore other parts of Antigua including the resort at St James where yachties can tie up for a small fee and use all the resorts pools and toys - including their little Hobie cats which were so much fun. English harbour was a historical beauty and the hike up the mountain to Shirley heights to the lure of the steel drum band party with its amazing views was a highlight of our time here. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

S1E17 - Stadlandet (or Stad) is one of the most dangerous sailing spots in Norway. Often, the highest winds in norway are measured right here. It is infamous for its story of lost ships and seaman. Stad marks the border between the north sea to the south and the norwegian sea to the north. But north is where we want to go. We have to cross it - Even it means waiting for a window between the many storms that occur here. Semaya, a Navetta 31 is a classic luxury charter yacht, offering comfortable cruising at ten knots with very low fuel consumption. She has five cabins (four double with private bathroom and king size bed, and a fifth cabin with 3 single beds and 1 double), all custom built. Her interior design is a mix of traditional and contemporary style, but with the benefits of modern technology. The only original feature of this super yacht is the hull; the rest (engines, generators, electric & hydraulic systems, furniture and other components) have been completely refurbished. She has a spacious fly bridge, large outdoor spaces with sofas, tables, bimini tops, outdoor TV & audio. She offers an ideal space for sunbathing, relaxing or entertaining. She can accommodate 12 passengers during the day and 12 guest at night in her five spacious cabins. She has a wide range of water toys, including a jet ski, paddle surf, donut, kayak, etc. The crew consists of a captain, a mechanic, a stewardess and a chef, all of whom are professional, friendly and extremly helpful. In summer her homeport is Mallorca on the Balearic Islands and but she is also available to charter in Ibiza and Menorca, as well as other destinations upon request.

Mid-Summer we hauled the boat out. The yacht club required us to do so in order to obtain accurate measurements of the overall length and beam occupied in the slip. This also gave us a quick opportunity to inspect the bottom and all penetrations (the thru-hull fittings and the centerboards). This was going to be an episode of Sailing 9 LIVES, but we decided to go another direction with the last episode. So, this little maintenance video was produced and kept fairly short. We can't produce quality inspirational content indefinitely without the support of our fans. Please, consider becoming a patron today and help us to create art and spread positive messages about living life to the fullest! https://www.patreon.com/9LIVES Thank you!

**NOW SOLD** Arabella is a 2002 Hunter 356 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/hunter-356-arabella-2 A comfortable, and well specified cruising yacht, Arabella has some notable extras and has been upgraded thoughtfully. Both the fully battened mainsail with single line reefing and the genoa were replaced new in just 2016 by Quantum. Electrics have been well thought out with a new inverter / charger added in 2015 plus the yacht includes a solar panel. The Yanmar 30 hp shaft drive diesel engine was installed new in 2012 and has logged around 440 hours. Accommodation below is practical, big and comfy. The large two cabin layout includes a private double V berth forward, generous saloon (with drop down table converting to a third double), dedicated nav station, a seriously adequate galley (with top loading fridge and separate freezer, microwave and two burner stove and oven), a massive head and shower with shower screen and finally the double owners cabin aft. The electronics package is by Raymarine and includes a 12" colour chart plotter which sits right at the helm and can also be detached. Boom bag / dodger / bimini have all been replaced and present well. The main sheet and traveller sit on the stainless steel targa bar which both keeps lines clear of the cockpit and offers super strong support for the bimini, the solar panels and you. Even stainless steel dinghy davits have been installed. An opening transom makes very easy access to the dinghy or dock and there is a huge amount of cockpit storage. Contact Peter Mactier for further details and to arrange inspection on Sydney Harbour.

This episode shows the final chapter of our adventures aboard our Nordhavn 40, M/V Cassidy. After almost 2 years and over 5,000 nautical miles not he boat, we decided to put her up for sale and move to another boat. Spoiler alert: its another Nordhavn! Not a whole lot of action in this episode but we discuss the process of selling the boat, show some of the survey that the buyer had done as part of the due diligence of purchasing our boat, and a glimpse into all of the packing and moving that we are still doing as we transition to the next boat. Watch to the end for a glimpse at our new boat, which we will soon be cruising on from Florida towards the Panama Canal and Mexico. Cassidy (the kid) decided that she didn’t want the new boat named after her so we shall have to make some decisions about what to do with the name of this channel as we start making episodes aboard our new boat. We may try to poll the viewers for assistance with this! It’s been a fun ride so far and we are looking forward to continuing to explore the world on our amazing new boat.

So its nearing the end of February and when Steve asked if we wanted to go for a sail we said, yes, sounds great. And this is what happened. Not much of a film but a memory of what the weather has been like this year

For March, the LSG Group is proud to present Chef Mduduzi Nkoski and his dish: the Cape Malay Beef Bobotie. Hailing from South Africa himself, it only makes sense that Chef Mduduzi’s dish is a signature of the country. The layered-dish was brought to South Africa by the Dutch and has evolved into what it is known as today. Made with spiced minced meat and topped with an egg-based mixture, it’s a meal that can be flavored according to one’s preference. Whether with or without raisins, or even dried fruits, watch how Chef Mduduzi assembles and creates his version of a bobotie.
