After four weeks in Germany it's great to be back in Turkey. My father joins me. I hope he is not looking for revenge, because when I was young I crashed his boat a couple of times. Today we tested the new frog sails. It was a real pleasure. Jim Furness joined us on this sunny and windy day.

Big Waves - Don't Care Sailing Across the Atlantic Sailing across the Atlantic strikes fear in some and inspires the dreams of many. It’s by no means easy, you can prepare the boat and study the weather, but it’s undoubtably the time that leaves the biggest impression. Sailing nonstop, even in a comfortable downwind run, is tiring. It’s also an amazing feeling that grows more enjoyable as the days slip by. The crew, the boat, and the conditions sync up in a natural rhythm. It’s amazing. This episode conveys the day-to-day of our transatlantic. It’s very true to our experience and provides an accurate view of our crossing life aboard the Starship. Enjoy! Episode 25 Season Alpha LOVE STARSHIP FRIENDSHIP? For Will and Sarah Curry, sailing the South Pacific was something they talked about on their very first date. Five years later after much planning and saving, their dream became a reality when they bought a boat in Mexico and shoved off for all points west. Now, six years later, their life aquatic is still underway. Enjoy their story! The title says it all really. As much as we applaud YouTube for trying to crack down on the abuse of children, we are a sailing channel... most of our films are just of Ian, an old bloke, sailing our boat on his own. And to our knowledge we haven't had any comments that are in any way targeted at our daughter so why pick on us. I mean its a great idea but targeting "Sailing with the Foxwell family" really... is that going to solve the problem. O one more thing... Izzys own channel, the one that has nothing but her featured in it... comments are still allowed on there, go figure!

https://improvesailing.com/speed - Why are longer sailboats faster? It has to do with maximum hull speed. The longer the boat, the higher the hull speed. In this video, you'll learn what the relation is between the hull lenght and hull speed, and also how to calculate it yourself. You'll also learn how sailboats are able to exceed maximum hull speed, aka 'sail their own wave'. Every family has at least 5 different recipes for chicken and one is the favorite one. But it is always interesting to add another recipe. Today we are cooking with Miguel, our 86 years old friend from Spain, Cartagena on his classic wooden boat This is a special, but easy recipe with simple ingredients: juicy sunny oranges, onions, and chicken. The combination is surprisingly tasty. The onions complement the juice, fresh taste of the oranges in a very interesting way. It feels, for us, a little bit like sun, even if you have a rainy day. And some special authentic Spanish trick ... how to cut onion and no cry:) Hit the Bell Button 🔔 to be informed when the next video comes out. In the competitive world of production yacht manufacture, Fairline have established a remarkably loyal client base who return time and time again to enjoy their new models. A few weeks ago I visited the Fairline Shipyards in Oundle, UK, to get a better understanding of how these yachts are built and what makes the company "tick". I came away with a far greater appreciation of the corporate culture that exists at Fairline; a company that has no doubt at all about what makes them different from everybody else.

We'd set off with the spearguns to find dinner. After filleting the fish and preparing the lobster we'd caught, I noticed a dark shadow off the back of the boat. I jumped in the water to find a GIANT Loggerhead turtle munching on the lobster head. He was so chill, not concerned about me in the slightest. This is honestly the wildest encounter I've ever had underwater. Superlatives escape me. In the words of Ace Ventura, "holy testicle Tuesday". WE are back to where it all began. Six months after the purchase of our boat and two months after getting her back in the water we have arrived in Martinique yet again, but this time a much nicer sail. This time we are on our own, working on a few upgrades and making new friends for the holidays. WE celebrate Christmas and New Years and kick off 2019 with a bang. Not only do we reflect on where we are now and what 2019 holds for us, we begin to get in the groove of our own. Join us as WE host our first Karaoke party on the boat, loose our dingy motor, meet fellow cruisers, launch our beautiful parasail (a little Christmas gift to ourselves), and catch a really big fish! WE have made it to the land of wine, cheese, croissants and beautiful beaches. Bienvenue a Martinique! Become a Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/WEsail

Part of the cruising lifestyle that has always appealed to us is the ability to catch our own food. In this episode we go out searching for lobster that we can catch and cook for ourselves, using only the solar power we have aboard our fully electric sailboat. We had previously gone out to delta shoal for some spearfishing, but had not seen any lobster. We decided to return to this area, but check out other spots where we thought we were more likely to find lobster. Spiny lobster like to hide under some form of cover, typically rocky ledges. When hunting for lobster in the keys, you are not allowed to spear them, instead you must use a "tickle stick" and net or grab them with a gloved hand to remove them from their hiding spot. Snares are also acceptable. This proves lobster to be a little challenging and definitely very fun to catch. This was at the end of lobster season in Florida, meaning most lobster that are of legal size have been caught by commercial fishermen using traps. Finding two legal size lobster this time of year was definitely an accomplishment for us. Since we are spending a good amount of our time out in the sun, we try to be smart about sun protection. Jordan opts for covering up as much as possible. I typically use sunscreen though, I am looking at finding a good dive skin after spending too much time in the sun without reapplying (we initially planned on wearing wet suits, but it was plenty warm). Here is some information about sunscreen mentioned in this video: FDA press release regarding sunscreen- https://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm631736.htm Bee-utiful Balms by Giselle (maker of sunscreen used by Randi in this episode)- https://facebook.com/madebygiselle/ https://instagram.com/beeutifulbalms?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=7m3gq9slq03b Stream2Sea (we'll be trying out their products soon, thanks for the suggestion!)- https://stream2sea.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines Amazon Wish List: http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/2FFJ6SE8DI80V ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. BootsProfis Website: https://www. This week we leave Anafi and sail to Santorini in the cyclades. It's a pleasant sail as we test out the auto pilot with great results. Our plan is to sail up through the caldera and enjoy floating in the bay while enjoying lunch and a cheeky vino. We capture some great footage of Thira with the Mavic Pro Drone but struggle to land it back on the boat as the conditions worsen. This is pretty funny to watch as all goes wrong. Due to deep water and many rocks we decide to leave Santorini and sail to Manganari Bay in Ios where we anchor. It's another beautiful anchorage as we continue to be blessed with little swell. Hope you enjoy the video, next week we continue crossing the cyclades as we visit Milos. Follow our Journey Please subscribe if you want to see more, and if you liked the video please give it a thumbs up as this helps us. If you have a question please ask, we will always get back to you :) About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to visit Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure.
