In this video, BuzzFeed producer Erin Phraner uses comments from her followers to figure out a cookie fail. Follow along as she figures out why these loaded sprinkle cookies turned out flat & crispy when folks tried baking them, then get the REAL (fixed, amazing, chewy, delicious) recipe at the end. We'll share it below, as well. LOADED EASTER BASKET COOKIES 1 stick unsalted butter, softened 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Sprinkles, as you wish! M&Ms, as you wish! 1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Beat the butter & sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg & vanilla. 3. In a bowl, whisk the flour, salt and baking soda. Add to the butter mixture & beat until just combined. Stir in your sprinkles & MMs (like to go crazy, 1 cup each)! 4. Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet & bake 8-10 minutes or until golden

Full details: https://www.oceansailingpodcast.com/sailing-calendar This offshore passage departs from Southport in Queensland, Australia and takes us 310nm ESE to Middleton Reef, then south to Elizabeth Reef, onto Lord Howe Island for a 2 day stopover, then past Balls Pyramid and finally to the CYCA at Rushcutters Bay in Sydney. It’s a challenging and exciting 2 leg 800nm blue water ocean passage. This is an invitation for you to join our crew, for an iconic ocean passage to some of Australia’s most isolated reefs and islands, that many coastal sailors put on their bucket list and very few get to tick off. The 2-day stopover at Lord Howe Island in the middle of the passage, gives you the option of sailing both legs of the passage or joining or departing at Lord Howe Island with the option to fly in and out of the airport there. In leg 1 - we’ll depart Southport and head to the notorious Middleton Reef, one of the southernmost platform reefs in the world. This 6nm long and 3nm wide reef rises up from the 3,000 metre deep Tasman Sea floor. This reef has claimed more than 70 vessels in the past 100 years with some wrecks still visible. We’ll circumnavigate the reef and observe the wrecks before sailing 30nm south to Elizabeth Reef. Elizabeth Reef is the southernmost coral atoll in the world and one of the southernmost platform reefs in the world. It measures 4nm by 3nm. At low tide most of the reef flat is exposed. At high tide, both a cay and a sand spit known as Elizabeth Island, with a diameter of about 400 m sits just one metre above sea level. At Elizabeth Reef we’ll anchor outside the lagoon and head ashore. The depth of the lagoon enables us to take our RIB inside it and go ashore on Elizabeth Island. Its surreal to be standing on a tiny piece of sand more than 500km off Australia’s east coast. We’ll then sail 100nm south to Lord Howe Island, where we will tie up at a mooring in the lagoon on the western side, before heading ashore for a weekend of exploring, hiking the cliff top trails, swimming in water surrounded by fish and relaxing. Lord Howe Island has 300 residents and a fascinating maritime, aviation, horticulture and war history, that’s proudly on display at the local museum. Most of the island is virtually untouched forest, with many of the plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. Other natural attractions include the diversity of the landscapes, the world's southernmost barrier coral reef, nesting seabirds, and the rich historical and cultural heritage In Leg 2 we will depart Lord Howe Island, and sail 13nm SE to Balls Pyramid. Balls Pyramid is an erosional remnant of a shield volcano that formed about 6.4 million years ago. It is 562 metres high, while measuring only 1,100 metres in length and 300 metres across, making it the tallest volcanic stack in the world. Fantastic Catamaran for groups till 45 persons in Mallorca.
Come along with me on my solo delivery from Lorient to Les Sables-d'Olonne on the Ethical Power Figaro 3. 90 miles under spinnaker in up to 30 knots of wind makes for a spirited delivery, a great warm-up for the Solo Maitre Coq regatta next week.
This is a one owner boat with only 25 hours on it. A high end 23' bowrider, loaded up with all the options, filler cushions, cocktail table, top end stereo, dual batteries, snap out floor liners, trailer, tower, bimini top, wakeboard racks, bow and cockpit covers. The 6.2 Mercruiser and Bravo 3 drive was a factory order and it seriously hauls A$$! Nothing more to say, but this boat is nearly in factory condition at a fraction of the price! Check out www.shuswapmarina.com for more pics and a walkaround video!
This is a one owner boat with low hours. As always Bayliner's use of space is exceptional, and there is tonnes of storage on this boat. It has closed cooling so it's ready for a splash in the ocean should you desire. It comes on the galvanized trailer with surge brakes and swing tongue. The 3.0 TKS Mercruiser package is reliable and economical and has been very well maintained. All the canvas and upholstery is in great shape and this little beaut is ready to hit the water! Check out www.shuswapmarina.com for more pics and a walkaround video!

In this episode we drop anchor in Mandraki Bay at Rhodes Town, Greece and get a sleepless couple of nights due to the swell. We leave Rhodes a few days later, catch our biggest fish and take on the Angry sea with our friends who are novice sailors. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. Why did we sail all the way to Greenland? Was it to see an iceberg? Grab a cool photo of a whale or maybe a musk ox? How about filming some striking landscapes? Nope. For us, it's all about the people. Meeting people, connecting with them and, hopefully, becoming friends. Letting them in to our lives and taking the time to find out about their world. We love exploring the wilds that nature has to offer, but the people of Paamiut touched our hearts. To us...that is everything. Herby gets to work on building the galley out of Sapele Mahogany. The plan is to make an edge grain butcher block counter top that will be strong and beautiful, and build a useful storage solution beneath it. Boat Work! Maddie does a commissioned portrait and also finds time to help brainstorm the storage solutions that will hold all of our pots and pans in our new galley. Oh, and if you thought the math you learned in school had no real life application, think again! Herby uses basic middle school math to cut a perfectly square hole in a boat thousands of miles from where he started. Math Power! We did it! We started our circumnavigation! We moved onto the boat end of November 2018 and left Cape Town beginning February 2019. We cruise down the Great Sandy Straits checking out the Ceratoadus and Palmer shipwrecks. While waiting inside Inskip Point for good weather we have our underwater blue lights on at night and a couple dolphins come right up to the back to feed on the fish playing in our light. When the wind, swell, tide and the time are all satisfactory we cross the infamous Wide Bay Bar. We head to nearby Double Island Point to wait the night before diving Wolf Rock in the morning. Wolf rock is comprised of four volcanic pinnacles that are covered by hard and soft corals and is home to the critically endangered grey nurse shark. The Grey Nurse Sharks congregate during October and November at this site, and although diving a few months later are hopeful that we may possibly see at least one shark.
Strength of Conviction 2019 Peters & May Round Antigua Race. Saturday, 27 April 2019 The Bajan TP52 Zingara (Conviction), chartered by Canadian Richard Reid, won the Peters & May Round Antigua Race in dramatic style. The team including Olympian and Volvo Ocean Race winner Richard Clarke, took Line Honours and the Peters & May Trophy for the overall win, after a dramatic collision with the 100ft SHK Scallywag right at the start. Second overall was Pamala Baldwin's J/122 Liquid, with a young team skippered by Jules White. Ker 46 Lady Mariposa, skippered by two-time Olympic Gold Medallist Jesper Bank, was third. The Peters & May Round Antigua Race is the spectacular prequel to Antigua Sailing Week. The five-day regatta with a full cast of entries will start on Sunday 28 April. Thirty three yachts entered the 53-mile race around Antigua, with high drama right from the get-go. The Dovell 100 SHK Scallywag tore their enormous mainsail after a tangle with TP52 Zingara (Conviction). The magnificent 115ft Farr ketch Sojana was noticeably absent after fouling their propeller before the start. “We didn't really expect to have a run-in like that with Scallywag, we ended up having to race with no instruments after the windex was ripped off the top of the rig,” commented Richard Reid. “However after that it was awesome! First of all because we raced around a beautiful island and we worked really well together as a team. You know, adversity always does pull a gifted team together - we are really looking forward to a great week!” Pamala Baldwin's J/122 Liquid, skippered by Jules White, put in a great performance, scoring second overall and winning CSA 2 ahead of two well sailed teams; Ross Applebey's Oyster 48 Scarlet Oyster and Bernie Evan-Wong's RP37 Taz. “We didn't really sail to our potential but we came in first place for our class. There is plenty to come from Liquid because it's a great crew. We have come in on podium the whole season and we are definitely here to sail hard this week, work her really hard on our home at Antigua Sailing Week!” In CSA 1, Zingara (Conviction) was the winner, with Lady Mariposa, a newcomer to Antigua Sailing Week, in second place. It's the final 48 hours before we depart Kas harbour for our 7 night shakedown cruise. We need provisions, a bottom clean, a new washboard lock and fresh grease on our steering mechanism. This week on Sailing Kawai we start our Croatian journey in Lopud, one of the Elaphiti Islands, a short 6nm sail from Dubrovnik. It has 2 beautiful anchorages and we enjoy some quiet time on this carless Island. After 48hrs on the water we enjoy exploring the land and have a great first impression of the area. After 2 days in Lopud and some favourable winds we head towards Mljet. The day starts with some easy sailing, 15 knots of breeze and Kawai loves the conditions flying up the coast at between 7-8 knots. Unfortunately the winds change direction and we are forced to tack for a couple of hours in strong winds before we reach Miljet. Mljet looks beautiful, but with strong 40 knot winds planned for the coming days we head to Korcula for a more protected anchorage and fit in some wine tasting in the wine region of Lombarda. The countryside is green with well manicured vineyards. We spend the day wine tasting at a couple of local wineries and love the experience. We then sail the channel between Korcula and Orebic, watching the kite surfers and wind surfers enjoy the conditions. It would be our final sail to escape the strong winds. The conditions are perfect, 15 knots of down wind sailing with just the head sail. We then shelter ourselves in Scedro. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :) Instagram Trace: https://www.instagram.com/trace_y02/?hl=en Jason: https://www.instagram.com/jase_stephens1/?hl=en Music 1. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In this episode we start our sailing trip to the Mediterranean. It is not always easy to know if the polyester you have on the shelf is to old or not. The resin must be clear and light and change color after one minute when the hardner is mixed, if it's thick and don't change color when the hardner is mixed it is to old.

The boat utilises a hard-chined, plywood construction and this design of boat is a proven, capable, ocean-going vessel. Boat building with plywood is a relatively easy and cost-effective way to produce a strong, monocoque-style boat hull. These videos aim to show the way in which I go about it. Thank you! Tony

Removing the Hard Drive, Battery, Mother Board, and Memory "RAM" with an Asus Laptop. Really not hard to do if you are not afraid to open up the laptop. Cable to plug Hard Drive into USB: https://amzn.to/2WactTM We will do a review of the new laptop in a later video so be sure to check that our. We have been using the Asus 2 in 1 laptop now for 4 years and love them so much that we replaced this one with a new one. Link for the laptop we bought: https://amzn.to/2XNdhOy The only real issue I have had with them is the one I poured water on, but that's not the fault of the laptop. Really like that I can fold the laptop over and use it as a desktop with another screen plugged into in and keyboard with mouse. Jumps of joy and coos of admiration and delight punctuated today’s brief second test sail on the new Dazcat 1295 XL. Even the bitter April rain as we set off couldn’t dampen our excitement as she went through her paces looking both fast and beautiful. The extra width gives her that ultra striking look and her performance is certainly faultless so far... The owner was out for his first sail today and it was a delight to see the massive grin on his face throughout. While designer Darren Newton was standing off in the rib busy checking out her balance and performance, Simon Biffa Baker and Matt Baker were onboard ensuring that everything is set up correctly and working smoothly. Also onboard were our electrician and Matt Owen from PR Systems Marine Electronics, calibrating the compass and log, finalising systems set ups. Once again thanks to all our suppliers including, to name just a few, Matrix Composite Material Company, Marineware Ltd., Harken, Aquafax, Allspars, Diab also our North Sails 3Di Nordac main and jib looking superb. There'll be more test sails to come as well as onboard and interior footage...
