We are now entering the Mediterranean as we sail up the Spanish coast from Gibraltar. We didn't get very far though as we were sheltered in place in Motril, Spain during the three month emergency lockdown in Spain. But, as a result we met lifelong friends and took the opportunity to dive into some boat projects. See the link below for how to manage mail and packages while you travel the world. We finalize our visit to Tangier, Morocco and squeeze in a couple of last minute tourist visits. We next get Chloe, our little Garcia 45 sail boat, ready for cruising over the Gibraltar straights and up the Spanish Coast. Our first planned stop is the Spanish marina of La Linea, underlying the Gibraltar Rock. Dawn does a quick review of Chloe's galley per request. Our paddle wheel clogs up but we shoot over the straights of Gibraltar in perfect sailing conditions with 20 to 30 knots of wind but with a rough landing in La Linea. The Gibraltar Rock has a lot to offer a tourist, we were pleasantly surprised. Dawn LOVED the Monkeys.

Having just sailed over the Gibraltar straits, we will now spend at least 3 months out of the EU Schengen Zone to reset our travel visas. Details for sailors on how to enter Morocco and all about the new Tanja Marina Bay Marina. While here, we managed to complete several boat projects including some stainless steel enhancements. Luckily, we were able to fit in some road trips to Ceuta and Chefchaouen. What a treat Tangier is!

Getting out of the Schengen Visa area in 3 weeks before we become illegal aliens. We're sailing down the West Atlantic Coast of Spain, Portugal, Spain to Morocco.

Continuing our cruise along the South West UK Coast before crossing the Bay of Biscay to A Coruña, Spain. We were getting the boat prepped fro the big hop. Also, Dawn was making her evhotels.org app run a bit faster.

Cruising West along Englands South Coast. Seeing the sights of Dartmouth, Salcombe, The River Yealm to Plymouth Sound. We're toodling along the English coast before getting ready to head down South , down to the Med. We got our first Volvo Penta service done, tested the electric outboard and enjoyed some of the local tourist attractions. And, of course tried a glass or 7 of Cider!...

After visiting Guernsey we returned to relax for a bit in Alderney .. and as we enjoyed this Island so much. Next, we hopped back to Cherbourg to fix up some engine issues and to pick up our reprogrammed EPRIB. Finally, we were able to leave Cherbourg and we set off to cross the English Channel for the first time. While on the road, Dawn was adding a few more thousand electric car charging hotels to her EVHOTELS.org app. It's now looking really good!! Electric cars should start total off very soon!

We finished up with Chloe's preparations and then, ran her through a few test sails in the Cherbourg Harbor area. Next, we sailed her over to Alderney. We found Alderney to be an Island Paradise as one of the Channel Islands. Meanwhile Dawn is perfecting her App: http://www.evhotels.org which is designed to help electric car drivers find hotels with EV charging stations.

We leave Ireland on the new route from Dublin to Cherbourg to arrive for the first launching of Chloe into the water.

Chloe's Mast is Up! Both her standing and running rigging has been installed. Her salon seating is complete in a nice warm red colored leather. All systems have been installed and she's just getting a final set of tests and checks. Even her bed's mattresses are ready. Chloe's Navy Blue vinyl wrap makes her looks very smart and classical - as she's rolled out into the Sun. She's most likely not going back indoors again until she get's new was coating in about 5 years time. We're thinking about all the systems that we can link up with a sailing boat system control app. As we're still putting the final touches on our new EVhotels.org app, we'll perhaps make this a 'next' app idea?

While waiting for our Garcia 45, Chloe to be built, we spent time driving The Wild Atlantic Way on the western coast of Ireland in the winter. Hopping between welcoming pubs and national parks makes for a memorable trip.

Chloe's interior woodwork is finalizing and her Decking is looking great - And, she's wrapped up in a gorgeous coat of Navy Blue
