Day 14 at sea. Two full weeks offshore—and something finally feels different. The first part of this passage took more out of us than we expected. Hauling out Freelance for the Wisconsin winter is always a sad, sad day for us. It's also a time to reflect on the past season. One of the summer's most memorable experiences was the incredible amount of heavy Canadian smoke that lingered in the Apostle Islands for weeks. We have seen forest fire smoke on Lake Superior before, but never anything like this.

But six years after our launch and already 20,000 nautical miles under our belt, the pandemic "caught" us in the Caribbean, just before our passage through the Panama Canal!
