Sailing to Nusa Lembongan on my friend's catamaran, a #lagooncatamaran This mini adventure takes us from #bali and over to the neighbouring islands, which consist of 3 islands, #nusapenida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa #lembongan south east of Bali, Indonesia. When my Australian friend Sam invited me for a short holiday, I was not dificult to ask, and jumped on board his beautiful Lagoon 440. Knowing how much money people spend on holiday here to have this kind of adventure, and even being only the two of us, makes you feel privileged. Sailing in Indonesia and especially from Lombook to Bali can be pretty challenging for several reasons. Outside the monsoon season, there is barely any wind, but strong ocean currents. During the monsoon season, you can experience extreme winds and lots of rain. And many sailors visiting these waters find themselves in big trouble. Penobscot Bay Maine best sailing anchorages exceeded our expectations! Maine boasts more than 4,600 islands, each with its own mystery, its own story. The question was which ones we’d have time to explore. With the help of the Cruising Club of America website and the Waterway Guide, we set our course. Rockland Hurricane Island Vinalhaven Pulpit Island The Barreds TIMELINE: 0:00 Introduction 0:30 Rockland Maine - Marina, Primo, Claws, Landings, Hamilton Marine 2:35 Hurricane Island Maine - Sea Scallop Research Farming, Granite Company Trails 6:47 Vinalhaven & Pulpit Island Maine - tranquility & lobsters! 10:10 Barred Islands Preserve Maine Rockland, called the biggest little city in Penobscot Bay, was a wonderful place to hide from the rain and fog. There were plenty of spots in the anchorage, but we took advantage of the marina slip we could get to wash the boat and make it easier to spend a little time ashore. https://guides.cruisingclub.org/harbor/rockland/ With twelve-foot tides pulling the shoreline back and forth, even stepping ashore felt like an adventure. For dinner we had quite the 5 star experience at Primo, a farm to table restaurant where they grow all the food and livestock with their staff of 60. Their 5 acre compound includes the restaurant, 2 greenhouses, over 200 laying chickens, 150 broiler chickens, 5 ducks, 15 pigs and 3 acres of vegetables. https://www.primorestaurant.com/ The next night, Landings offered laid-back dining with waves lapping just below us. Hurricane Island was formerly the site of a Granite Company supporting hundreds of residents, then in the 1960s, an Outward Bound School, and now home to Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership, who conduct marine and island ecology summer courses and research. The breathtaking island trails led to rock ledges, granite cliffs, old settlement housing and panoramic views - even in the fog. Long Cove is the safest anchorage, but you can use the day anchorages to explore these large islands. The Barred Islands Preserve were next, sandwiched in between Butter Island and Great Spruce Island. I **motori ausiliari per barche** si utilizzano principalmente quando il **motore principale non funziona**. Sono fondamentali per garantire una propulsione alternativa, ad esempio per rientrare in porto in sicurezza. Sulle barche sotto i 10 metri, il motore ausiliario è quasi sempre un **fuoribordo**, spesso stivato in un gavone e montato all’occorrenza. ### Come si utilizzano? Il funzionamento è semplice: si prende il motore fuoribordo dal suo alloggiamento, lo si installa all’esterno, lo si accende e si usa per spostare la barca dove necessario. ► Full test in Multihulls World N°204. ► The 3D images we’d received had given us a good idea that the Tortue 147 wasn’t really going to look like a standard multihull... In the end, we were in for quite a surprise at La Grande-Motte! The catamaran on display, an ode to slow living, boasts a truly unique design and layout, with a nacelle reminiscent of a turtle shell, large stained-glass portholes, a suspended chart table seat, and a cabin layout reminiscent of a small mountain chalet. The same surprising atmosphere reigns at the after end of the boat, where a modest suspended balcony serves as a cockpit. We’re obviously impressed by the diamond-shaped windows integrated into the floor of the nacelle, and we are hardly surprised by the presence of a beautiful plant, whose pot was designed during the construction process. The build was undertaken in Tunisia using semi-thick aluminum for optimal impact resistance. The hull has two specific features: a bulbous bow is grafted onto each side to dampen pitching, and the stern is particularly sleek. Here again, the architects’ aim was to provide the most stable platform possible, including longitudinally. Two 1,200-liter (317-gallon) ballast tanks are also provided aft. Long keels and rudder skegs allow you to take the ground.
