This time it was the build up to the event in St Tropez that was causing the stress and pressure. And then the weather threw a few curved balls into the mix. Whether you were on the shore on or a boat, the French SailGP was a nail biting affair and yet it was also a regatta that ended up being far more 'normal' than any of the others this season! ⚓️ Épisode 28 – Des Saintes à la Dominique : Sur les traces de pirate des caraïbe Dans ce nouvel épisode, on quitte les Saintes direction la Dominique 🌊. Entre galères de mouillage, fort Napoléon fermé, navigation mouvementée et visite mythique de l’Indian River, l’aventure continue en famille ! Dans ce nouvel épisode de notre tour du monde en catamaran en famille, on commence par un petit imprévu : impossible de rester au mouillage choisi, on nous demande de partir gentiment 😅. Après vérification, les bouées (corps-morts) sont rendu quasiment obligatoires aux Saintes, ce sera donc notre solution. 👉 Ensuite, cap sur une petite randonnée jusqu’au Fort Napoléon… mais manque de chance, c’est fermé quand on arrive ! On se contentera de quelques photos devant la porte. 🌊 Nous reprenons ensuite la mer vers la Dominique dans une navigation mouvementée au près. We sailed from Capo D'Orlando to Cefalù . Unlike other sailors who might be satisfied with the mesmorizing anchorage near the castle, we really investigated the historic center and boy is it worth it. It's considered one of the top 5 highlights of Sicily so to miss it is a travesty. We begin at the heart of the old town, the Piazza del Duomo, where the majestic Cefalù Cathedral dominates the skyline. Built in the 12th century by Norman King Roger II, this UNESCO World Heritage site features impressive Arab-Norman architecture, stunning mosaics, and twin towers that rise dramatically above the town. From there, we wander through narrow cobbled streets, lined with artisan shops, quaint cafés, and medieval stone buildings. Along the coast, we visit the Old Port and the ancient Lavatoio Medievale — a beautifully preserved medieval washhouse with freshwater springs flowing through stone basins beneath vaulted arches.
