After spending several days in the beautiful Beaulieu Sur Mer and Cap St Jean de Ferrat, we left mainland Europe and sailed to Corsica. We were nervous, as this was our first long passage in over a year. We left in the late afternoon and sailed through the night discovering that nighttime sailing passages are our preference. I so enjoy the star filled nights imagining ancient navigators sailing unimpeded by GPS, AIS and radio waves. Propelled by a fresh breeze around Cap de Corse, we arrive a the Bay of Tamarone, a lovely stop over with a welcome beach bar. After 2 nights we head further down the coast and discover the Bay of Pietracorbera. A spectacular anchorage that Nicole quickly states is her favorite yet. It has 4 distinct levels of mountains, clear turquoise water and a beach bar serving up a delicious burger and fries. We welcome Casey and Maddie from Seattle and head down the coast toward Palombaggia and Porto Vecchio. Another night passage of motoring followed by a offshore breeze to finish the passage.

The fifth and final offshore leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 was nothing short of intense, a neck-and-neck battle all the way to Montenegro. With the fleet separated by just a handful of miles, every manoeuvre, every decision, and every gust of wind counted. While the sailors fought hard at sea, the Malizia shore team discovered a taste of Tuscany, visiting our long-time partners Fattoria La Vialla in Italy. From the heat of the racing deck to the warmth of the Italian countryside, this episode brings both sides of the Malizia journey together. 👉 Watch the full episode for: 🌊 The nail-biting close fight on the water 🍷 A special behind-the-scenes visit to Fattoria La Vialla ⏳ The final sprint to Boka Bay 👉 Subscribe to follow the full journey through The Ocean Race Europe 2025! © Flore Hartout I Meredith Rodgers Editor: Sergi Azuara ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Follow Our Team On Social Media: ⬇️ Instagram Team Malizia: https://www.instagram.com/team_malizia/ Instagram Boris Herrmann: https://www.instagram.com/borisherrmannracing/ Facebook Team Malizia: https://www.facebook.com/teammalizia/ Facebook Boris Herrmann Racing: https://www.facebook.com/borisherrmannracing/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@team_malizia LinkedIn Boris Herrmann: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boris-herrmann/ LinkedIn Team Malizia: https://www.linkedin.com/company/14832074 #borisherrmann #teammalizia #TheOceanRace #imoca #imocaglobeseries #offshoresailing #sailing #racing #aracewemustwin #climateactionnow #TheOceanRaceEurope
@Lost_Lauryn is probably the most beautiful sailing on youtube today! We have engine problems as soon as we pull up anchor at Cape May and we are drifting with the wind and current. I take quick action to get the motor started and then we sail 40 miles up the New Jersey Coast to Atlantic City. We get a dock there and head to the boardwalk! Its a fun place. Then we head to the pier and take a ride on the ferris wheel and even a helicopter ride! Then Lauryn puts on her bikini and hea head to the pool! wow does she look good! #nudibranch #gymnodoris #huahine #frenchpolynesia For a nudibranch lover, finding these beautiful dorids under our boat every day has been absolute heaven. I am in awe as their migration continues to unfold. On the second day, while hundreds of nudibranchs were still present, the ones on the move were significantly smaller. They also seemed more focused on mating and laying eggs than on traveling. By the third day, as I swam the shallow shelf, I found a ton of evidence that they had passed through. Literally every piece of seagrass, every twig, and even the sand was decorated with bright orange egg tinsel, waving in the current. It was like seeing the remnants of Halloween in a neighborhood the day after. I even found eggs attached to the decorative forest growing out of the top of a large snail shell deep into the shelf, a clear sign the nudibranchs had traveled toward the reef. Just like in the days before, lots of other creatures, were out and about and intermingling with the invertebrates. It made me wonder if they had always been there and I was only now seeing them because I was looking more intently. By the fourth day, the winds had picked up, and the number of nudibranchs flying through the water column increased. The egg strands were also threatening to fly off their hosts. Although hundreds of nudibranchs remained on the sandy shelf, many had buried themselves in the sand or taken shelter under something. The primary activities today were moving and mating, rather than laying eggs. Every day, the scene changes, and I am blown away by what I get to see and photograph. I know the days are numbered before they all disappear, but until then, I'll take advantage of being in the water as much as I can. NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? https://www.berthoninternational.com/yacht-sales-brokerage/yachts-for-sale/spirit-52d-oui-fling/ Spirit 52D for sale. Check out this sea trial video of yacht for sale Spirit 52D, OUI FLING. OUI FLING is a bespoke Spirit 52D conceived as an elegant modern classic optimised purely racer. She has a classic flush‐deck profile but with traditional overhangs, OUI FLING features a weight‐minimised structure including a carbon keel blade, rudder, winches, and fittings—while retaining the craftsmanship of Spirit Yachts. The yacht’s hull is wooden epoxy construction—built using sapele ring frames, yellow cedar planking, and fine fiberglass fairing—with structural carbon reinforcements at load points for stiffness. She displaces just under 7 tonnes, nearly two tonnes lighter than standard Spirit 52 models, and carries approximately 3.25t of lead ballast, delivering outstanding stability and sail-carrying ability—even in light wind conditions. Deck ergonomics have been optimised for racing: a clean flush deck devoid of stanchions, a large bespoke cockpit customised for crew, and separate helm and tactician stations. Electric winches ensure efficient sail handling, while all running rigging is routed aft for enhanced control and speed management. Although she lacks a full interior—merely minimal headroom seating and essential facilities—the vessel’s simplicity allows for maximum lightness and agility. Launched just seven months after initial design discussions, OUI FLING swiftly won her IRC class at British Classic Week in Cowes 2021. A celebration. A family reunited. "Bold at sea. Y juntos en la pasión." But last night was much more: a moment to celebrate and share our new identity. Among smiles, hugs, and dancing, we saw the essence of Southern Wind come to life. Three words that capture our philosophy, our spirit, and our community: The Perfect Balance. A toast to everyone who made this possible, and a special thanks to our valued partners.

For several years now, Beyond the Sea has been developing solutions tailored to various needs. LibertyKite®, designed for boats of 12 to 65 feet (4 to 20 meters) in length, is a self-stabilizing emergency sail that has also found recreational use. SeaKite® is for use on ships from 80 to 300 feet (25 to 90 meters) with an automated system designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption. Sitting between the two, Dynakite is aimed at vessels from 40 to 100 feet (12 to 30 meters). “Dynakite is designed for cruising catamarans and powercats from 12 to 30 meters (40 to 100 feet). It is an intermediate solution, in terms of both performance and price, perfectly suited to this sector,” explains Antoine Dechaufour, Sales Director. The system’s architecture is deliberately simple: a boom, an electric winch, and a kite connected by two lines. The whole thing can be deployed or furled away in just a few minutes. “We like to call it “plug & kite”. The idea is to make this technology accessible to everyone, without any complicated learning curve,” continues Antoine. This decisive simplicity allows everyone to immediately enjoy this alternative to using the engine. First and foremost, Dynakite provides additional safety: in the event of engine failure or dismasting, it offers independent propulsion, capable of maintaining the boat at a speed of 4 to 8 knots depending on conditions. It also reduces fuel consumption by an average of 20 to 30% on long passages for multipowers, an obvious ecological and economic gain. Finally, it opens the door to a different kind of sailing. “Many customers initially buy a kite for safety reasons, then discover that they use it for pleasure. At 6 or 7 knots, with the engines off, you’re free enjoy the ocean in a different way,” says Antoine. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! Sao Miguel is the last Azorian island we will sail to before completing the Atlantic crossing and sailing on to the European Mainland. It's the largest island in the chain and the most popular for visitors. It's the island that has everything .Lakes, mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls and a wonderful summer climate thats warm but not too oppressive to spoil the fabulous hikes that cover the whole of the island. We even manage to anchor next to the small volcano at Villa Franco do Campo and explore by kayak, we knew the Azores were going to be something special but we had no idea just how much. 🚤 Discover the all-new Absolute 70 Fly — the latest creation from the Italian shipyard, packed with innovations. At the stern, a large tender garage with electric movement sets the tone. The cockpit, in true Absolute style, features freestanding furniture and a telescopic expandable table, alongside a wet bar and helm station. From there, the Flybridge unfolds: two independent telescopic tables, another large wet bar, and — unusually for Absolute — a second helm station positioned to starboard. Step into the saloon, where the sea-view galley and an electric dining table redefine space and comfort. The highlight? A full-beam opening to the exterior, merging indoors and outdoors seamlessly. Below deck, the forward master cabin offers breathtaking views. The layout continues with versatile guest cabins — including convertible twin beds — plus a VIP suite, crew quarters with hidden access, and finally, the beating heart of the yacht: the engine room with twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350s. ► At the Cannes Yachting Festival, the editorial team at Multihull World met Adam Cockerill, Sales Manager of the Lippert Group, who was there to present Lewmar’s latest innovation: their Ultra-Low Profile Hatch. This deck hatch stands out from the crowd, though not from the deck, first and foremost thanks to its flush design, with only 10 mm (⅜”) of extra height above the deck. It’s an aesthetic detail that makes all the difference: integrated into the lines, it almost disappears from view while enhancing the modern look of multihulls. Another advantage highlighted by Adam is the 360° ventilation function, which creates proper airflow and ventilates the interior effectively. Designed for both original equipment installation and refit, the Ultra-Low Profile uses the standard cutouts of Lewmar’s Low Profile, Medium Profile, and Ocean Hatch ranges, as well as those of other manufacturers. The result is a perfect fit without any major modifications. With this new model, Lewmar is offering a sturdy, well-finished hatch that combines discreet aesthetics, optimal ventilation, and ease of integration. A calm and sunny sail around the island of Hvar on our Najad 380, INDARA. With little wind, we enjoyed a relaxed day on the water before arriving in the beautiful town of Stari Grad in the afternoon. The highlight of the day was meeting another Najad 380 sailing alongside us — a rare and special encounter for any Najad owner. Join us aboard INDARA as we continue exploring Croatia and sharing the beauty of life under sail.
We cast off from Trapani and cross into the Egadi, making Favignana our base to explore the archipelago’s history, stone, and sea. On Favignana, by sea, by bike and walking, we show you the Ex Stabilimento Florio tuna factory museum brings the Florio legacy and the mattanza to life and we swim, sail and film at the signature bays —Cala Rossa, Bue Marino, Cala Azzurra, and Grotta Perciata—where the shoreline’s dramatic “steps” and caves reveal centuries of tufo (calcarenite) quarrying that literally shaped the island’s landscape and culture. We show how quarrying carved wind-sheltered cuts and ipogei and left amphitheatre-like cliffs that make these bays so photogenic. We filmed the entire Giardini Impossibile (Garden of the Impossible), a garden built around the tufo caves by a Sicilian woman in the 1960s that saved the failing calcarenite industry from a destiny of refuse into a destiny of beauty. Because the Egadi Marine Protected Area protects vast prairies of Posidonia and regulates anchoring and access by zones and seasonal buoy fields, we choose the smart plan: leave the boat and ferry to Levanzo and Marettimo when wind, holding, or restrictions make anchoring impractical. On Levanzo we highlight the Faraglione. On Marettimo we film the hike to the Castello di Punta Troia, now home to a small museum/observatory, and peek into sea caves that fringe the wildest of the three islands. This episode blends passage planning with on-shore culture—stone, tuna, and timeless blue—so you can copy the route with confidence. Tell us your favorite Egadi cove or quarry in the comments to help other cruisers plan. Our channel is all about sailing the Mediterranean. We help anyone who wants to sail the Mediterranean, whether they are brand new at it, aspiring to go, or just arm-chair traveling. We generally post about our adventures with beautiful scenery and helpful hints, but we also post about the challenges too and how we resolve them. Attitude is everything!

Our North Sea sailing journey takes us from the Kiel Canal and Elbe River out into open water. We set course for Helgoland, our first real offshore passage with Zoé. The sea was calm, but Anna still struggled with seasickness, until a few birds lifted her mood. Little did we know, the real test with heavy seas and strong winds awaited us on the passage to Holland… We spent two days on Helgoland, hoping to see rare birds and stock up on duty-free supplies. Things didn’t quite go as planned and we left instead with just a few cans of food and a bottle of rum. The weather forecast promised nothing but gales for weeks. After much hesitation, we had to make the call: sail on to the Netherlands. The crossing to Den Helder was exhausting. After three exhausting, sleepless days at sea, we finally made landfall in Holland, tired but proud of the passage. Join us on this challenging leg of our sailing adventure, from Helgoland to Holland in heavy weather on the North Sea. 🌊 If you enjoy the journey, don’t forget to subscribe and consider joining our Patreon crew for behind-the-scenes content and exclusive real-time updates!
