After relocating the boat to Raiatea last week, a priority was finally seeing a doctor about a persistent fungus or parasite that had been plaguing me for five months. In this episode, we meticulously follow the prescribed treatment, determined to get rid of it for good. The second half of our week was a fantastic mix of local flavor and culture. We enjoyed a great meal at a restaurant beloved by cruisers—and which has arguably the best bathroom in all of French Polynesia! After that, we took a scenic drive around the island enjoying the locals and the views. But the highlight, was finally getting to attend the opening ceremony of the Raiatea Heiva festival. La traversée en voilier entre Ithaque et Meganisi est juste incroyable ! D’un côté, on a les falaises majestueuses d’Ithaque, et de l’autre, les collines verdoyantes et douces de Meganisi. On a eu droit à une petite surprise avec des pluies torrentielles, c’était tellement fort qu’on voyait à peine 20 mètres devant nous. L'occasion de prendre une vraie douche dans le cockpit ! 😁 Après une trentaine de minutes de navigation, on a trouvé une baie super abritée pour se protéger du vent qui soufflait fort. On a pris le temps de se balader et de savourer quelques douceurs grecques.  Nous avons aussi découvert un nouveau mouillage, très petit, juste la place  pour deux bateaux. Nous serons le seul. .. Un mouillage très beau, sauf les fonds qui laissent une drôle de sensation. .. It's been a year and a half since our first sail in @SailingAstridTheWombat actually that means it's been a year and a half since our first sail ever. That's right a year ago we bought this Beneteau Oceanis 430 and pulled the sail up for the first time ever when we brought her home. A sail that stretched 700 nautical miles from Townsville in Far North Queensland Australia to Moreton Bay in Brisbane Queensland. We are now preparing to move onboard and to sail around the world.
