What an interesting few days we had in Istanbul, Turkey filming and testing the Aiata Wayfinder 38! If you like American style big volume with bow flare, but also appreciate Finnish Adventure Boat hulls and their efficiency then this is a boat that sits somewhere in the middle. Featuring a hull designed by that same designer of Axopar Boats this is a boat that gives performance, capability and volume in one. But it doesn't stop there! This is a modular designed boat which means you can order a sun top and if you change your mind and want a cabin they can literally send you the sides and bolt them on at a later time! These people are absolutely amazing! They went out of their way on their trip back home from the Bahamas to stop in West palm for a few days where we all laughed, ate, cried and drank until we couldn't anymore. We love them and they are our biggest cheerleaders! We were sad that they had to leave an move on but we will see them again soon for some more shennigans and fun as always!

In Episode 69 of the Sailing Goat series, we weather 4 intense days of Meltemi winds while anchored in Poros, Greece—gusts up to 40 knots howling day and night. Thanks to our careful prep, we held firm with just a small tear in our bimini, right where one of the solar panel mounts gave way. It could’ve been worse—especially as we watched yet another round of charter boat chaos unfold all around us. 🌀 Meltemi Madness: If you've ever ridden out a Meltemi, you know it’s not just about anchoring—it's about vigilance, checking holding every hour, and hoping your neighbors know what they're doing. Spoiler: many don’t. We stayed calm, laughed a lot, and filmed the action. ⛵ Dreaming Big – A Tour of the Bali 4.8 Catamaran After the storm cleared, we were lucky enough to get a private tour of a Bali 4.8 catamaran—and wow, what a boat. With four double cabins each with en-suite bathrooms, a full-size front cockpit, and the iconic Bali solid forward deck instead of netting, this catamaran feels like a floating villa. The tilting garage-style aft door transforms the saloon into an open-air terrace, merging seamlessly with the enormous aft cockpit. What an interesting few days we had in Istanbul, Turkey filming and testing the Aiata Wayfinder 38! If you like American style big volume with bow flare, but also appreciate Finnish Adventure Boat hulls and their efficiency then this is a boat that sits somewhere in the middle. Featuring a hull designed by that same designer of Axopar Boats this is a boat that gives performance, capability and volume in one. But it doesn't stop there! This is a modular designed boat which means you can order a sun top and if you change your mind and want a cabin they can literally send you the sides and bolt them on at a later time! We are so close to leaving the wall. Full electric galley, watermaker, 2 years new electronics including auto pilot, radar and 16 inch chartplotter. Custom dinghy lift where you can leave the engine on (comes with 10.5 rib with almost new 20hp motor), new mainsail and jib, 14 foot by 7 foot custom hard top, dive compressor, two electric toilets with 2x 100 litre blackwater tank, put in 3 new fridge/freezer units, new prop shafts, 8 new underwater lights. We took the bottom down to gel-coat and put 6 layers of barrier coat on before new bottom paint (that was 3 years ago) and we replaced every through hull. We installed two new prop shafts and aquadrives. It has 4 staterooms, one oversized queen bed, one queen bed and to double beds with 4 heads but we are using 2 heads as just storage. You can live remote on this boat for months and months without needing to resupply (3 fridge/freezers, crazy amount of solar and giant lithium batteries etc). It still needs some cosmetic work inside and a couple of things here and there, but could cross oceans right now as is. We love this boat but we are aware we aren't going to get back anywhere near the money we put into her.
