Une fois à quai, la visite se poursuit à pied à travers les sentiers ombragés de pins et d’eucalyptus. Le fort royal, aujourd’hui musée, plonge les visiteurs dans l’histoire captivante du lieu. C’est aussi l’occasion d’admirer de magnifiques panoramas sur la baie de Cannes et les eaux turquoise qui bordent l’île. Escale paisible sur l’île Sainte-Honorat Après une baignade dans les criques sauvages ou un moment de farniente sur le pont du catamaran, l’équipage met le cap vers la plus intime des deux îles : Sainte-Honorat. From the shore team’s tireless work on land to the crew’s relentless effort at sea, this episode shows the heart of Team Malizia during Leg 4 of The Ocean Race Europe. The big positive from this leg, despite the setback, is that we kept our spirits high and really enjoyed the sailing. Even when it became clear we couldn’t catch the Canadians, we pushed the boat to the max, proof of our great team spirit. We are a diverse mix of nationalities and cultures, and for Loïs and Cole this is their very first major IMOCA season. Everything is new and exciting, and yet no one loses motivation just because we’re further back. We fight to the very end, with full commitment. Of course, slipping into sixth place was tough to swallow, but 24 hours later, the frustration is gone. Sailing to Nusa Lembongan on my friend's catamaran, a #lagooncatamaran This mini adventure takes us from #bali and over to the neighbouring islands, which consist of 3 islands, #nusapenida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa #lembongan south east of Bali, Indonesia. When my Australian friend Sam invited me for a short holiday, I was not dificult to ask, and jumped on board his beautiful Lagoon 440. Knowing how much money people spend on holiday here to have this kind of adventure, and even being only the two of us, makes you feel privileged. Sailing in Indonesia and especially from Lombook to Bali can be pretty challenging for several reasons. Outside the monsoon season, there is barely any wind, but strong ocean currents. During the monsoon season, you can experience extreme winds and lots of rain. And many sailors visiting these waters find themselves in big trouble. She came back with great enthusiasm for the yacht, the location, and the fantastic broker representing Red Sky - Bill Titus of Northrop & Johnson. Apparently Red Sky was in particularly bad weather one day, and the Captain was reassured with the words “Don’t worry, this is a Swan…YOU will break before the yacht does!”

Cyclone Alfred has now passed, but the worst is yet to come. We now have massive trees hurtling towards us and bits of debris. It’s a constant battle to keep removing them from the hulls where they keep getting caught. It’s full on! After a while the banks of the river burst and the current reduces dramatically. We move to more protected waters with less of the river flow, but it’s tricky going as it’s very difficult to manoeuvre the nuthouse in such huge currents. Magnus uses everything that he can to keep Nutty from hurtling toward the sandbanks and riverbanks. It’s a lot. Once that’s all dealt with it’s time to get back to fixing up the roof. The weather is not helping us. It just won’t stop raining and when there is a small weather window, it’s too hot to apply the gelcoat. We can’t get a break. Finally, we decide that we’re just not going to get Nutshell finished and we can only do our best with the short amount of time that we have left. We plan on leaving Nutshell on the hard and coming back to finish her after our Kimberley tour guide season ends September 2025, but, as always seems to happen, plans change… Thanks for watching.
