Here's a tour of all the areas we have food storage on the boat. We do also have a small cubby behind one of the seats, and plenty of bilge space for food provisions when we finally hit the ocean and go cruising. Hope you enjoyed the mini tour! Let me know in the comments if you want to see more space tours on the boat. Thanks for watching.

How about steer 30 feet of sailboat with one hand and hook a burrito with a 6 foot pole in the other? Well, that happens in Episode 12 of the Video Logbook of Sailing Explorations! We are talking about, a BOAT-TO-BOAT Burrito Handoff! Yes, that happened. It was a risky maneuver, but we pulled it off to help out our new lone wolf friend, Elijah. The moment we met him at the "private low tide party", he graciously shared his prized bottle of moonshine with us. So, when we saw this single handed sailor eating beans right out of a can because he wasn't able to cook underway, Chris decided to prepare the perfect pass- of two burritos and a side of fresh veggies! Join in for our bon fire on an island full of cows, a bit of bad weather (of course), and TONS of frisky dolphins! It was a great trip on the Intracoastal Waterway from north of Savannah, Georgia down to Fernandino Beach, Florida and we only managed to run aground once the whole way through some of the most treacherous shoaling on the entire ICW . After taking a little time to ourselves after recovering from the tragic news of Jessica's brother's passing, we're now in Antigua and have a few days before the excitement of Antigua Sail Week begins. Realizing that our cupboards are getting empty since our last big provisioning trip was in Florida, we take the bus to the capital of St. John to hit a big and modern grocery store. Along the way we explore the town a bit, find their HUGE fresh market, and take in a lunch of shwarma and local beer. A few days later, friends begin to arrive and we start to take full advantage of the company. Going out with our long time friends Bill and Grace of s/v Calico Skies, we find a snorkel spot at the entrance to Falmouth Harbour, and Grace even catches a stingray on film! With love from Antigua! One of the most commonly asked questions we get is "what are your kids doing for school"? The short answer is they're not! In this episode, we show you exactly what we do to educate our kids and tell you how and why we enjoy the unschooling life. The core of "Family Circus" is Chris (Dad / Captain), Sayo (Mom / Admiral), Aya (First Officer / Deckhand) and Miya (Baby / Stainless Polisher). After many years in business in Vancouver we were tired of life inside the box and wanted to make a change, we just weren't exactly sure what would be next. In July of 2016, when Sayo was six months pregnant, we decided (somewhat at the last minute) to fly to New Caledonia for one last holiday before the baby was born. On this trip we decided to buy "Family Circus", planned to sail her to New Zealand and started an adventure that has changed our lives. Juni 2014 in Hamburg gestartet.

We had to evacuate our boat and drive north. Waiting to return to find out if our sailboat was destroyed or damaged. Have you been waiting to learn how our sailboat and marina fared in the hurricane? We've watched different sailboat channels recount their Hurricane aftermath. Now, it's Sailing Nervous time to share! It's taken awhile but we were finally able to return to inspect and see first-hand our hurricane sailboat! What do liveaboards do when a hurricane threatens? What kind of marina is best to survive in? Hurricane Florence destroyed sailboats and marinas in the Carolinas. So much to learn about sailing as a liveaboard in hurricane territory. In this episode we finally find out Yab-Yum's fate...do we still have a sailboat?...can we continue living on a boat? Or did Hurricane Florence destroy her?! Watch and fine out! All American Marine, Inc. and the Hanke family of Puget Sound Express are pleased to introduce the Saratoga, the newest member of the PSE whale watching fleet. The 73-foot, aluminum catamaran vessel was designed by Nic De Waal of Teknicraft Design in Auckland, New Zealand and built by All American Marine in Bellingham, WA. The “USCG Subchapter T” certified, high-speed catamaran has 2 asymmetrical semi-planing hulls, and an adjustable aluminum midship hydrofoil plus two aluminum aft foils, which allow the boat to achieve top speeds of 40+ knots. This design, coupled with finely-tuned, wave-piercing sickle bows, enables the boat to travel through both calm and rough water at full cruising speed while keeping underwater noise to a minimum. The Saratoga was designed from top to bottom for low fuel consumption at high speeds, a critical factor to the success of the daily whale watch tours originating out of Edmonds. The vessel also utilizes Hamilton Jet Drive control systems with four HJ364 water jets and MECS control systems, which are second to none in terms of maneuverability as well as fuel efficiency at higher speeds. “During sea trials, we went out with a specifically fully laden vessel, and the difference in terms of fuel consumption between light laden and fully laden was almost negligible” said De Waal. “We’ve done many years of research to develop a vessel design that’s particularly low-wake, due in large part to our unique hydrofoil system that doesn’t displace as much water and create waves as is the case with traditional hull design.”

Now I know this video is a bit of fun... BUT safety on board is a serious matter! Whether sailing coastal or off shore safety has to be taken serious. Of course, my “kitchen” (called a galley on a boat) is a little smaller than the kitchen I had in my Stockholm’s apartment. I also use gas instead of my induction stove and electric oven, and use ustensiles that are stainless steel or that I am not afraid to break. Cooking in my galley really doesn’t feel any different, apart from when we are underway, and all if a sudden, everything starts to move. That’s the reason why I would typically have all our meals prepared before departure, which I never failed to have done, until we left Porto. And just by naming “Porto”, you probably understand the reason why that time, we left without meals ready, and I found myself having to cook underway. This week, I take you back to the days we met with our friends Andy and Mia in Porto, and had the greatest of times in the city, including: voting in the Swedish parliament election and taking the cable car in Porto as a way to correct a routing mistake. We obviously couldn’t be in the city without a serious Port Wine tasting, which left me feel very tired on the next day, as we departed Porto to head towards Lisbon. And I found myself having to cook, on a day the wind weren’t high enough for us to sail, and the seas rolly enough to make cooking challenging. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** GEAR ** ⛵️Our boat: Polar Seal, 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 40, owners version (2 cabins layout). Colleagues and viewers alike ask me from time to time whether it is really worth my time and effort to promote luxury yachts on YouTube. They question whether YouTube is an appropriate platform to present expensive luxury products, and even ask whether Ultra High Net Worth Individuals even watch YouTube videos at all. Here, I open a window on the strategy of video marketing and explain why YouTube is such an important platform. If you are not using it...you really need to start! To watch some other great yacht related content that I refer to in this video, check out: https://www.youtube.com/user/sevenseasvoyager https://www.youtube.com/jaredwatney https://www.youtube.com/user/TomJoeSHOW
