The beautiful journey continues... WE have left Grenada and are heading north towards St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It feels good to move on to the other islands and stretch our our boats "sea legs." Happy to be on the move and excited to see what the Grenadines has to offer and man does it have a lot! WE first sailed to Carricou the island just north of Grenada and then to Sandy Island. A small taste of another paradise where we swim with a nurse shark in the little lagoon. Then we sail up to Union Island and check ourselves in for the next month of exploring the Grenadines, have sundowners on little Happy Island and watch the kitesurfing show as the sun goes down, and then find a stunning Marine Reserve of the Tobago Cays and swim with the sea turtles. Après un bon départ de Route du Rhum, Manu est contraint au stop suite à un problème de safran mais reste déterminé et rejoint le port de Camaret-sur-Mer d'où il repartira le 12 novembre.

Manu a pris la route vers l'ouest, cap sur les Antilles poussé par les Alizés et est attendu le 30 novembre sur la ligne d'arrivée pour remettre les précieux dessins d'enfants à l'association Coup de Pouce de pointe-à-Pitre.

Helena and Friedrick bumped into a hard dinghy with 11 migrants on board near the Balearic Islands in the middle of the night. Their efforts lead to their rescue - a lifeboat reached them in the early hours of the morning and took the cold, seasick, and hungry people to safety. After our crossing last week and our anchoring in the middle of the harbour, we were of course asked early in the morning to clear the way. Next day we want to pick up Marios parents for a day sail when we see a small sailing boat upside down in the water! We find the guy and help him to come back into the harbour. We spent a week on Tenerife and discover the island with a rental car including a birthday visit in the Loro Parque.

We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Veleiros e Nerds parecem ser palavras muito distantes, como uma vida em contato com a natureza pode se reconciliar com o estereótipo que temos dos Nerds? Bom... depende da definição de Nerd que você tem. Vamos pegar aqui um conceito mais amplo de quem curte ciência, eletronica, mecânica e etc... Que gosta de coisas técnicas em geral. A Navegação sempre foi algo muito tecnico, onde grande parte do melhor do conhecimento humano da época foi utilizado para realizar grandes viagens. Então... na verdade não acho que é tão distante assim. Hoje vou falar com um velejador que ensinava como criar robôs, foi um especialista em Legos e inclusive fez projetos que interessaram a agencia espacial brasileira. Ele mora com a Naiana, que é enfermeira, no Veleiro Nomad aqui na Marina Itajaí. Durante a nossa estada em Itajaí também instalamos um novo piloto automático e fizemos uma série de outras instalações.
