We spend 2 nights at Hamilton Island Marina hire a golf buggy and go sightseeing. The island has made an incredible recovery from the damage that was caused by Cyclone Debbie in 2017 which almost destroyed the Whitsunday Islands. This is one of the few remaining functioning resorts which is buzzing with activity. Some others haven't been as fortunate to recover.

From summer of 2018, a short (but sweet) episode where we make a stop at the small harbor of Fiscardo, on the Greek Ionian island of Kefalonia. We take an afternoon to dinghy to the adjacent bay to observe the technique of long-lining. Back in town, Talisman is right on the town quay, and we drink beers and sample a tremendous menu at the taverna right off our passarelle. Fiscardo is a top-10, must-see destination if you plan on sailing the Greek islands either by charter or with your own boat.

What is a Mandingo? Fierce African warriors and in Cape Verde also great sailors. We set off with a crew of Cape Verdeans. It was great to have them aboard as they know the local waters. That's probably why we caught a big Mahi Mahi. Peixe was my go to guy. He led me and Galopin to a safe anchorage off the south coast of Santa Antao. Although not known as a destination spot in the Azores, Sao Jorge should be near the top of everyone's travel list for untouched and unspoiled beauty. While immensely enjoying our time in Sao Jorge, our dragging anchor causes us to move ourselves and burn out the engine starter in the process. With few options, and shipping of a new one having a two week delivery date, we rely on some new friends ashore to see if they can help us out of this jam. While our starter is being worked on, we hop in a car with Bill & Grace to do a little exploring of the coast. We come across hydrangea lined fields, magnificent viewpoints to towns down below, and take in the sights at Faja Orvidour. One of the most spectacular natural swimming spots we've ever come across. Sorry guys, unfortunately we were just able to be live for 7 minutes before the internet died on us. As we mentioned before San Blas is not reliable with phone and data even with the phone up the mast - that’s right people, nothing but hight tech, nothing but quality. We shall try again next time when we have better coverage. We have been enjoying very much the beautiful Islands of San Blas and, perhaps not as much, being able to redo the lost videos and get the videos up to date. The fact we can catch our fish and be almost self-sufficient makes a huge difference in our budget so the plan is to lay low in the San Blas and try to spend as little as possible so we can cross the canal around May. That is the plan. Would you believe that we kept talking for at least 30 min more which supposedly showed as being live to us or at least recorded. Ahhhh technology.... See you guys next time.

Dominica has been said to be the only island Colombos would still recognise if he came back today due to it's wild unspoiled beauty. We were excited to see if this was true and organised a few inland trips to waterfalls, hot pools and also did the famous Indian river trip in Portsmouth. Dominica is still recovering from hurricane Maria one year ago which decimated most of her houses and ripped off the entire forest canopy, despite that level of damage it is astounding how quickly the island has recovered and rebuilt and the rainforests still amaze with their natural beauty (though we wish we had seen it before Maria). We also reunited with our old friends from SV Sophie who threw a big pig on the spit party for our friend Zoe's birthday - parties in Dominica are epic - all the locals joined in the fun and we had a night to remember for years to come. Enjoy exploring Dominica with us! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We have been carefully keeping an eye on our anchor due to the pudding like bottom and the anticipation of high winds throughout the next couple of days. The wind continued to build throughout the morning as forecasted and a nearby boat belonging our friends, started dragging swiftly across the anchorage. Their Rockna anchor had become completely fauled with grass in the soft mud and refused to bite causing them to drift across the anchorage at nearly 2 knots. After helping them attempt to reset the anchor several times with little success, they decided to take a slip at the dock where they knew they'd get a better nights sleep with no more worries about their anchor. To thank everyone for helping get things back under control, they invited us all to lunch at what turned out to be a fantastic little restaurant on the far side of Bluff Cay. We had a delicous lunch at the Bluff House Tranquil Turtle, which we can highly recommend. While we ate our lunch the weather continued to build slowly and then suddenly exploded into gale force winds and pounding rain. Worried about our boat we ran across the Island in the pouring rain to check on our boat. Thankfully Turtle was sitting nicely along with our other friends boat. The following day brought calmer weather perfect for exploring the Island. We finally leave La Cruze and Magnus manages to land a very large mahi mahi on a small rig. Magnus does a jury-rig on the alternator which has stopped working, again. We haul the boat out in Carriacou, Grenada and finally get to see the damage that we caused when we hit 'something' in the muddy waters of the lock in Port Charlotte (see EP 3)... at the time, we rose about a foot out of the water and were petrified that we hit a manatee, but no manatee could have caused this!! It's certainly a bit worse than we thought... After checking out the keel damage we then try and get to work with our other tasks of replacing our cutlass bearing, stuffing box and sanding and barnacle removal for a new coat of paint... the rain however has other plans!
