After sailing all the way to Rio Dulce, in Guatemala, this Hurricane damaged catamaran finally gets hauled out a year and a half after Irma, to get repaired properly once a for all. The boys waste no time getting covered in fibreglass dust, and have a huge week grinding and tearing the boat apart. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. All's well that ends well? After the first scare the cross beam damage and the resulting visits to Canet and Cannes have brought us a lot of positive encounters and developments. Time to continue our journey to the start of the ARC, we should still be able to make it in time. We spend a couple of long days (and nights) sailing towards Moraira on the Spanish mainland. Our route takes us via Mallorca and Ibiza, but this time we only use the islands to catch some sleep.

This week on Kawai we leave Central Corfu after some R and R and head for Southern Corfu as we make our way South, next stop Preveza. On our way South we stop at the fishing town of Petriti and we love the crystal clear waters and hospitality of the tavernas. It's hard to leave this place as we love the area and the stress free anchorage in sand. The sail to Preveza is enjoyable as the prevailing Ionian winds arrive on time after midday and we are pushed down the Greek Coastline towards Preveza. The rugged coastline, cards and increasing winds keep us entertained as we plan to enter the channel of Preveza. It's our first time entering the bay and we find it an easy channel to navigate. We anchor off Preveza as a storm approaches creating strong winds and a choppy swell and are fortunate not to drag anchor with our neighbours not so lucky. Strong winds keep us on the boat for 2 days before it finally passes. We explore Preveza and find a traditional Taverna that makes us some great food. Preveza is a sailing mecca with two large, well equiped Marinas, an inviting town quay and a big protected anchorage as well as many chandleries ashore. We are loving the Ionian, we can't wait to keep sailing the Greek Islands in the months ahead. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. The first scheduled races of the Audi 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week Porto Cervo had to be postponed today due to the strong Mistral wind that peaked at nearly 40 knots on the proposed race area, and averaged 30 knots for a sustained period. With no racing today, Azzurra, who flies the burgee of the host club, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, still holds the overall lead on the general classification of the circuit with six points of advantage over Germany’s Pla'doon of Harm Müller-Spreer and eleven points on the defending circuit champions Quantum Racing of Doug DeVos.

Voici le huitième volet d'une modeste présentation de nos 50 jours consécutifs passés à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain en 2019. Nous répétons le même scénario depuis plusieurs années, mais nous n'avions jamais pris le temps de documenter et surtout, de présenter notre expérience. Nous naviguons à 4 (2 adultes, 2 enfants en bas âge) sur un Hunter 30 Cherubini 1980 que nous avons remis à notre goût ces dernières années. Nous tenons habituellement de 8 à 9 jours avec notre réservoir d'eau et le réservoir d'eaux noires. Cette année, nous avons hissé les voiles chaque jour pour lesquels nous avons navigué. Nous avons parcouru une distance totale de 610 miles nautiques sur le fond et consommé 32 litres de diesel en 7 semaines. la plus grande distance parcourue sur le fond fut de 35,2 miles nautiques en près de 7 hrs 30. Il n'y a eu qu'une seule journée entière de pluie... notre vitesse de croisière se situe aux alentours de 5 noeuds. Nous espérons inspirer ceux qui doutent du plaisir que l'on peut avoir à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain avec une jeune famille et partager quelques'uns de nos mouillages et des quelques moments de bonheurs passés sur l'eau.
