Charging the Twizy at home can sometimes be a problem with grid tied solar panels because the mains voltage can be too high. In this video I used a 20 Amp Variac to regulate the mains supply to an acceptable 230vac from our 251vac incoming to the house. This allowed the Renault Twizy to charge perfectly. I bought the Variac from Eastern Transformers and Equipment Ltd in the UK Open-Type Variable Autotransformer (Variac) for Panel Mounting 1ph 20A Renault Twizy - Won't charge if the mains voltage is too high.
Hello all! This is another event at the Plano Balloon Festival. Normally there would be Balloons but the wind was too strong and for safety reasons they could not let the balloons up. We were disappointed, but they did a candle stick glow choreographed to music. Enjoy! Camera: Gopro Fusion
Hello All! We went to the Plano Balloon Festival.....unfortunately it was too windy so we never saw the balloons, so we just hung out and did other activities it was a nice day. Enjoy Camera: Gopro Fusion
Hello all! We decided to go to the Plano Balloon Festival and one of the events was a parachute jump. This is a 360 video so you can slide your screen to move around a look up. When they jump from the plain they are a mile away so it's kind of hard to see until they get closer! Enjoy! Camera: Gopro Fusion

Looking for a reliable autopilot? Check out how I installed the pelagic autopilot on my sailboat! After a small boat break in California, it's time to head back to good old Karl in Ecuador. Maria travels up to Quito to pick me up and we explore the pretty streets of the colonial style historic center. Back on Karl, it's time to install my new pelagic autopilot that I picked up in the states. For more info on the autopilot Check out www.pelagicautopilot.com Enjoy & Ahoy, Nike Download the full movie at www.UntieTheLines.com You can support our videos here: www.patreon.com/WhiteSpotPirates or https://www.paypal.me/whitespotpirates For real-time updates, visit: http://www.facebook.com/whitespotpirates http://www.instagram.com/whitespotpirates For background information on the journey visit www.WhiteSpotPirates.com Thanks for watching, liking, sharing and supporting these videos! If you ever worry about what it would be like to be hit by a hurricane or tropical storm on your boat, this video will answer a lot of your questions. Paul and I have gone through several named storms throughout our 30 years of cruising so, using video footage from our own experiences as well as others, we cover how and when hurricanes are formed, how to track them and strategies for weathering named storms on your boat in a marina, tied to a mangrove or hauled out in a boat yard. We also discuss insurance coverage for hurricane season. Boat life is a constant mixture of ups and downs. It is not the highlight reel you see on YouTube: it is sometimes wet and lonely and stressful. And just because there are downsides, that doesn't negate the existence of all the upsides: there's a reason why we've sacrificed so much to live on a boat. But to assume that it's all sundowners and dolphins would be naive, and in this video I attempt to share some of the realities of boat life that you will undoubtedly experience once you move on board and begin cruising. With the children leaving home we decided to sell our house in the UK and buy a boat in Holland. After two years refitting our Hans Christian 48T we have now set off a world voyage. We are retiring early because we want to attempt this voyage in good health and while we're fit and strong enough to really enjoy it. We will have to work a bit as we go until we can draw our pensions and we honestly don't know how well that will work. In our real lives we are journalists and filmmakers so it was only natural for use to document our travels by filming the journey. We aim to produce a professional standard vlog of the whole trip and try to give the viewer a real insight into what it's like to live and travel on a 48 foot sailboat. Our first aim is to sail South. After a winter getting iced in on the Markermeer in the Netherlands Judy insisted on warmer weather! So if you start from Episode 1 you will see us setting off from Eastbourne in the UK and travelling along the South Coast to Plymouth to enter a rally called ARC Portugal. Our first goal is to reach the Mediterranean and that means sailing across the infamous Bay of Biscay. This was a very good test for our boat as the bay lived up to it's fearsome reputation and split the whole fleet with a force 10 storm. Storm Miguel cut through our path and meant we had to run to mainland Spain to escape the massive seas and fearsome winds. Six boats couldn't make it in time and spent several very uncomfortable days at sea. The fleet had several broken boats, but thankfully no injured people. And this was just Episode 2! The excitement continued for the rest of our trip to the Med. Dolphins played in our bow wave, we sampled fantastic local foods and wines, great port in Porto! We found some beautiful anchorages and visit some wonderful historic places like Lisbon in Portugal, Cadiz in Spain and the fascinating port of Gibraltar. We will show you what it's like to winter in the Mediterranean, how much it all costs and give hints and tips on where to go how to save money with your boat and the places you stay. We are also talking to other sailors. After years of broadcasting journalism we know how to get peoples stories and we regularly film other sailors to show their boats and lifestyle as well as ours. We can always learn from others. Our long term plan is to spend a few years in the Mediterranean, on our list of place we want to visit are; Mallorca, Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Italy, Tunisia, to name but a few! When we feel we've seen the best of what the Med has to offer we will cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean, we are hoping we can fit in a trip to the Azores on the way. We have no idea how long we might want to stay in the Caribbean but we do intend to have at least one excursion up the Eastern seaboard of the United States to visit the wonderful sailing areas of Florida, Virginia, sailing Meccas such as Chesapeake bay and hopefully get all the way up to New York. Of course the South Pacific is somewhere every sailor wants to go and will be a real draw for us. So going through the Panama canal will be a real milestone and we really look forward to having the big doors shut behind us and sailing into the biggest sailing playground of all! #sailingfairisle

Six months ago we started our journey in Greece with little sailing experience, figuring things out as we go, not really knowing what we're doing. Our goal is to circumnavigate the world via the wind, always being surrounded by the ocean. Sailboat life is super different from land life and can be pretty rough at times. see the little things is the documentary of our endeavour of simplifying life, decelerating pace, and practicing mindfulness. Follow our adventures when you are curious to see how we mess up and fix it up again! We are currently still sailing Greece, but will head over to Italy and beyond soon. We left Kupang without rally and our first anchorage Kroko is simply spectacular - 2 volcanos and impecable patch of sand where local boats keep coming back and forth. After spending there couple of days we take off island hopping - visiting small villages and bigger towns everywhere we go getting so much attention - everyone wants a selfie with you or at least a high-five! What an experience but I have to admit it's tuff to be in such a high demand :D Nonetheless we have amazing time and heading to even more amazing destination. Life on a sailboat often means finding new ways to stay fit in small spaces. I work full-time and have been averaging 60-hour work weeks since May, which makes it a huge challenge to keep a fitness routine and, as a result, I've found the sedentary lifestyle has robbed me of my energy. My goal with the 30-day challenge is to regain my lost energy, and with any luck and fortitude, lose some of the 10 pounds I put on since I've been back in the States. The timing couldn't be more ideal as the cooler weather settles in - just in time for our journey south to the Bahamas in November. ~~~~~~~~~ About Plexus: Focused on health and wellness, they have a range of products to help your body get rid of the bad stuff, pave the way to better digestive health, and feed your system to benefit the body and mind. Winds were over 40 knots on the race area at times and though an initial postponement was signalled to 1400hrs, before then it became evident that the wind was going to remain too strong for fair, safe racing. With two possible days of racing now remaining of the 2019 season the position of the Roemmers family’s Azzurra, which flies the burgee of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, becomes stronger. They have a lead of 11 points over Platoon and 16 ahead of the 2018 champions Quantum Racing. If they can secure the season championship title it would be Azzurra’s fourth, adding to wins in 2012, 2015 and 2017. After the three races held yesterday Sled of Takashi Okura leads the regatta with a one point advantage over Azzurra and six points over four boats, Bronenosec, Alegre, Phoenix and Quantum, all sharing the same points aggregate.

Beveridge reef has to be one of the more unusual stops you can make on a voyage across the Pacific. Basically it's a ring of reef 5 miles long with perfect white sand in the middle, there's no land and the closest habitation is Niue 150 miles away. You are literally anchored in the middle of the ocean with only whales and sharks for company. Luckily for us we had a good friends on Boag to share this week with, the first few days were amazing snorkeling and whale watching, after about 3 days we started to get bored so organised some sweet 'ninja' game challenges between our two boats, after day 4 the weather turned and we were holed up on our boats, rocking around like being in a washing machine, waiting for our weather window to sail to Niue - we now truly understand the meaning of cabin fever!!! When all's said and done Beveridge reef was amazing but 3 days is by far long enough to be anchored in the middle of the ocean! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

I don't like heights, so naturally Tambi puts me into situations that involve heights. She likes to watch me suffer. She's a bit twisted like that. In this particular high altitude situation, we'll be ascending the Elbow Reef Lighthouse in Hopetown, Abacos. I hear the view from the top is particularly terrifying. There's also some really good sailing in this video. Quite possibly the best sailing of the entire trip. The conditions were wonderful, the swell was minimal, and the route was challenging. Enjoy! François Gabart about his iFLY15 experience: « ... It was really great! It is a new boat that I didn’t know so far. Very stable, extraordinary stable. It is extremely interesting, because You immediately see the accessibility of the boat. Almost for anyone, who does a little bit of sailing. You just jump on the boat and it is stable flying. It is even flying in light winds. In my opinion a great boat to access flying on the water / foiling. » (...) « The boat is easy to control. As a matter of fact. At the rudder, it goes all straight in a civilized way » (...) « There is just to let the boat go by itself, stabilize itself, and this is super enjoyable. » (...) « And then I think the big, big highlight is it’s accessibility. It's true, and it's an important issue. Because today only some few sailors have the chance to fly on the water, but we must try to democratize as much as possible, and that as many people as possible can experience that awesome sensation of flying. It's great, and this is indeed one of the boats allowing it. » Its unique active foil control technology FlySafe® makes the iFLY15 fast and at the same time easier to control. Stable flight is key for both, high performance and accessibility. Speed is nothing without control. more Info: http://iflysail.com Video: by Horue Movie #FrancoisGabart #iFLY15 #Foiling #FlySafe #Catamaran #Sail #ActiveFoilControl #Foil #Hydrofoil #FlySafe #Katamaran
What happens when you gamble with Mother Nature? Sometimes you lose. Harvest this year on the farm has been "frustrating and frightening."
