On this day we enjoyed a ferry ride from Halifax to Dartmouth and back... Having a good time is what matters and what life is all about... The Halifax–Dartmouth Ferry is the oldest saltwater ferry in North America,[1] and the second oldest in the world (after the Mersey Ferry linking Liverpool and Birkenhead). Today the service is operated by Halifax Transit and links Downtown Halifax with two locations, Alderney Landing and Woodside, in Dartmouth, NS. The first ferry service in the region was put in place by the founder of Halifax Edward Cornwallis, who used the ferry service to move raw materials and people from a sawmill located on the Dartmouth side of the harbour. During this time there was no official service and it was not until 1752, after a council meeting, that the first ferry charter was issued to John Connor[2] This began the official ferry service between Halifax and Dartmouth. At this time regulations stated that the boats would be run from sunrise until sunset through weekdays with a fare of three pence. In these early stages there was no schedule. Patrons would simply walk down to the pier and be taken across as needed. Connor operated the ferry for only one year and after his departure the operation of the ferry changed hands twice more before 1786. ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience  that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. ==================================== Ничего вам не продаю. Ничего у Bас не покупаю. Снимаю для души и от души! I'm not selling you anything. I am not buying anything from you either. I shoot video for the soul and from the heart! No te vendo nada. No te compro nada. ¡Grabo un video para mi corazón y mi alma!

Enhance your upper body strength and muscle endurance with this 10 minute EMOM (every minute on the minute) workout. Bet you didn't think you could complete 150 Push-Ups and over 100 Air-Squats in less than 10 minutes... But this workout allows you to modify your push-ups in order to achieve 15 reps within each min, then crank out as many air-squats as possible in the remaining time. Talk about a great muscle endurance workout which can also be utilized as a benchmark to show improvement by repeating every 4-6 weeks to see an increase in push-up endurance. Follow Lauren Kuschner at Sailing Performance Training and try and beat her scores! This is a perfect workout for any sailor needing to develop upper body strength and muscle endurance to enhance your ability to trim while hiking or trapezing. Review the workout instructions below and give it your best effort! EMOM 10 Minutes: Push Ups: 15 Reps Air Squats: Max Reps In Remaining Part of Each Minute. If you can't complete 15 pushups within the 1 minute - then scale to: - Kneeling Push Ups, or - Elevated Push Ups Sum all the Airsquats you complete in each minute - for a total Air Squat Score and report in the comments below. Lauren Kuschner's Score: 150 Push Ups (Scaled to Knees and Elevated) + 121 Air Squats Total Want an affordable, individualized workout program? Our first failure only a week into the passage. Emergency repairs are made and then we set sail, heading to North Wales. We encounter seals, amazing skylines and rediscover some old haunts. After dragging anchor andgetting close to the rocks in Platja de Garbet at 2 am we left for the marina in Llança Spain just next door. The anchorage was like a washing machine when the wind blew through the Pyrénées, We managed to escape and pick our moment to leave. The marina was very accomodating and the staff were all friendly so we resupplied and explored Llança for a few days before we head off to continue the passage to Ibiza. Plenty of crab pots and fishing nets everywhere.

We saw rays, sharks, whales, sea turtles, dolphins and blended up alot of jelly fish. hallucinations tired at sea for days and in need of a break due to the constant storms and blow outs. Beautiful scenery and a vibrant aquatic life due to the covid situation. There was still trash and massive trees floating around in the ocean have to keep a look out. lot's of fishing nets and crab pots everywhere and adrift.

Change is the only constant in life. Change is around in every moment. Life always changes. You change. And with our change, we change the world. They say you’re always one decision away from a totally different life. So what happens when things change, but it wasn’t due to your conscious choice? What happens when things change that change you, but it wasn’t up to you? We are in George Town with #wildlyintrepidsailing, and we are planning to provision to live off grid on our sailboats for as long as we need. It turns out, changes are about to be bigger than we thought, and sailing to a remote island might be harder than expected. Therese gets a devastating message from Norway, and life seems to try to knock us down. Up until now we haven't really had to adjust or change our lives at all. Her stylish, modern, aggressive look reflects the Swift Trawler line renewal, marked by the launch of the Swift Trawler 47. The Swift Trawler 41 has a fluid and balanced profile, emphasized by a slender flared out hull, which means she cuts perfectly through the sea. Her wheelhouse offers a strikingly generous glazed space, while the fore deck, with its large sun pad and a high protective pulpit make this long-distance cruiser even more distinctive. Her new hull has also been designed for optimum fuel consumption and efficiency, in both versions available: Fly or Sedan. In this video, 10 year old Molly tries out SCUBA diving for the first time. Tambi and I headed to the pool with SCUBA instructor Chad to have a little refresher course. I was hoping that Molly might be able to breath on a regulator a little bit to better familiarize herself with the SCUBA equipment. As it turns out, Molly did FAR MORE than just breath on the regulator. She suited up into the full set of dive gear (which was HUGE on her) and was actually swimming around, descending, ascending, and even playing a little rock-paper-scissor game as well. So proud of our little lady! Now that we've had a refresher course, we're ready to take on a very interesting dive near Orem Utah. It's one where the water temperature is a near-sweltering 95 degrees! This week we have a mechanic come and do some tests on the old Perkins motor we have. This is a big deal as what he says will determine if we are going to repower. That would mean lots of money and weeks in a yard, so we are nervous to see what he has to say. At the same time we have a little fun with our friend Dave who has a hard time not helping :) Not a bad trait to have. 🥬Become a Paid Subscriber and Help Us Out: https://www.thelitzenbergers.com/help-us-out 🎧Listen to our Podcast! https://www.thelitzenbergers.com/podcast-1 👍🏻Our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Litzenbergers/ 📷Our Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sailing_litzenbergers/

We can not sail across Oceans at the moment, but we can go SAILING! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ This video was filmed in July as the global covid-19 pandemic had taken a hold of the world. Neighbouring countries had closed their borders and Malaysia was in strict lock down until the end of June. If you would like to contribute towards Nandj videos, please use this link. Get Unseen footage, Exclusive vids and engage with us more personally! http://www.patreon.com/Nandji In this episode of Sailing Nandji, in this current crazy world we live in we feel you need to make the most of when an opportunity arises. We are not able to sail across oceans due to the covid restrictions, but we can still go sailing! We woke up to a great wind and blue skies, a rare occasion in Langkawi during the wet season. What better time then to go have some fun. Winds up! Sails up! Let's go sailing, Destination, NO WHERE! The swell free waters of Langkawi, Malaysia is great fun to play in with the wind up. We tack our way down the straight and are met with another vessel who lays down the challenge to Nandji. Time to test out our racing skills! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef. We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! Lots of challenges on this 2nd leg of our passage: setting a 24hr mileage record; caught-out in the gulf stream; an accidental gybe; lightning storm and a thunderous leg to the infamous Hatteras shoals. Following on from part 1: after a brief stop in West Palm, Florida, we continue our passage up the East Coast USA away from the hurricane zone, arriving to our final destination for the season, Herrington Harbour in the Chesapeake. Initially all goes well. We have a very fast sail in the Gulf Stream, setting our 24hr mileage record, but end up in severe sea conditions off North Carolina. Missing our weather window to round the Hatteras, we divert into Beaufort. With just 60 miles to go, we are surprised by a lightning storm and have a nasty accidental crash gybe which wrecks the mainsheet system leaving the boom swinging wildly in big seas. We spend 5 days licking our wounds anchored in Cape Lookout Inlet before again heading off on a fast ride to the infamous Hatteras and a gentle arrival into the Chesapeake River. As usual, the river provides tranquil sailing after the Atlantic, allowing our blood pressure to subside! 15 May - 1 June 2020 For more detailed description of each and every day’s events on board, please refer to our daily blog at www.SailCloudyBay.com

How we fund our dream and what it took to start out sailing around the world. After 4 years of full time travel sailing around the world, we explain how we fund this dream life now in our 30's rather than waiting until retirement. We break down how much it cost us to sail around the world over the last year, where than money was spent and where the money comes from. Answering is one of the questions we are asked most often. How do we make our money as digital nomads off grid full time sailing on a budget. We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfil our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat, our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. #multihull #multihullsailing #sailingvideos After a TOUGH passage running from COVID-19 we entered Australia (CAIRNS) from West Sumatra - some 5000nm with half of it up wind. In Australia we've been shown the amazing and typical Australian hospitality while we hang out in The Whitsundays over AIRLIE BEACH RACE WEEK. Julian Griffiths (Noosa Marine) and Michel Van Der Zwaard (Owner of the EXTREME 40 catamaran - BACK IN BLACK - invited us to sail this racing machine. Due to many requests from people to share where we have been sailing during COVID-19 we start with some explanation about that, and then jump into AIRLIE BEACH RACE WEEK with this amazing machine. Back in Australia we've taken on the task of supporting the animal welfare initiative in New Caledonia - unfortunately some sponsorships have fallen away since we sailed out of the region and this program is really needed on the outer islands. See our blog for details: https://catamaranimpi.com/2020/07/29/moose-icon-for-animal-welfare-in-new-caledonia-2/ We follow JUST CATAMARANS, a catamaran brokerage company in Florida - our son Terry Grimbeek is a broker for Outremer as well as many used catamarans so please check him out. Since we do not earn from our videos it encourages us to keep sharing. https://justcatamarans.net/ Terry Grimbeek: terry@justcatamarans.net For immediate updates check out our social media pages: FaceBook PAGE: https://www.facebook.com/catamaranimpi/ Other FaceBook (full): https://www.facebook.com/cat.impi InstaGram: https://www.instagram.com/cat_impi/ Website: https://www.catamaranimpi.com MUSIC: Snafu by Facebook Creator Studio - Brent Bpurgeois Punk by Facebook Creator Studio - Lance Taber DANCE LIKE WE'RE ON FIRE by MARC ROBILLARD https://www.facebook.com/marcrobillardmusic/ https://www.instagram.com/marcrobillard/ https://www.marcrobillard.com/ SUBSCRIBE: Whilst the numbers is not what we do this for, it does help to have a good following especially for our programs like animal welfare etc. Please hit the subscribe button and turn on the bell for notifications. #SailingDuringCovid19 #Extreme40 #SailingIndonesia #ExtremeSailing #AirlieBeachRaceWeek
