Welcome Aboard Valeila Sail! Almeno una tempesta in mare all'anno come sapete la dobbiamo affrontare... ma tant'è, ne usciamo sempre abbastanza bene. Aspettavamo un pò di arietta da Ovest, non più di 20/25 nodi. Non esci dalla baia per così poco e così ci siamo premurati di mettere un ancora di rispetto in direzione del vento previsto. Non ho avuto nemmeno il tempo di chiamare Marina a terra per spese che il vento ha girato improvvisamente da Est e la prima raffica ha raggiunto i 43 nodi. Il video che vedrete è il prima, il durante e il dopo la tempesta più forte anche se il momento Clou per ovvie ragioni non abbiamo potuto riprenderlo. Ringraziamo Valerio per questi video che ha voluto riprendere nonostante il movimento. Sembra poca cosa ma chi conosce il mare dedurrà dai movimenti della barca e delle altre imbracazioni attorno quanto ci stiamo muovendo. Ne siamo usciti con pochi danni a parte un pò di VTR grattata dal sedere di Gentilina e il musone dell'ancora piegato leggermente. Se qualcuno se lo chiedesse l'ancora ha tenuto magnificamente ma abbiamo avuto timore ad uscire perchè 90 su 100 la nostra Rocna era proprio sotto la barca delle nostre amiche dritte di prua. Stiamo tutti bene e, nonostante tre barche in spiaggia e quello che poi ci hanno detto essere più di 50 nodi di vento Gentilina ha dimostrato ancora una volta di che pasta è fatta. Ripropongo... In May 2020 I came across Sergey's post on a Facebook. He was looking for a crew to help him to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I responded to this post and two months later I was on my way  to Nova Scotia... On August 1, 2020 I took off from Montreal, QC and I arrived to Halifax, NS to join Sergey on his boat. Sergey and I paid a visit to Royal yacht Squadron, a yacht club that was situated just minutes of driving from our Horseshoe Island park anchorage. As boats and sailing became my passion, places like this yacht club are of  particular high interest to me.  The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS) is a yacht club located on the Northwest Arm of Halifax Harbour in Halifax, Nova Scotia.It was founded in 1837... The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron has been incorporated as a not-for-profit society in Nova Scotia, Canada, and has legal status to operate in Nova Scotia. The Yacht Squadron is home to the RNSYS race teams coached by head coach Agustin Ferrario, as well as 2012 Olympian Danielle Dube, and 2004 and 2008 Olympian Lisa Ross, the Squadron has sent at least one youth sailor to every ISAF Youth Worlds since 2010. We buy an old sailboat and spend months working hard to fix it up during lockdown in the South of France. We live in the marina for 4 months working on refitting the boat to get our tiny home ready to sail full time. Nautitech in comparison to the two major players in production catamarans are famed for their performance and are often the sailors choice in catamaran terms uncompromising in their pursuit of a preferred balance between comfort and performance. This one is a rather special example taken away from the factory at an early stage by its wealthy discerning owner keen to adopt a greener approach to sailing. This is a super clean, ready to go, fishing and cruising machine! In addition to the 5.7L OMC V8 stern drive package (600 hours) there is a new in 2011 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust kicker mounted to the transom complete with electric start and power trim. “Six Pack” is super clean and ready to hit the lake for cruising with lots of space to sleep 4 in comfort. This family has had the boat for a long while but they can no longer find the time to use it. There's a bimini top with shade cloth curtains. All the upholstery is in great shape in and out.
