Thank you to our patrons for supporting this video. This video was not sponsored and is purely my own opinion. I wonder at the size and agility of the cat which has been placed amongst the pigeons. This video took quite a bit of work to pull together, we did about 10 revisions and I'm still not 100% happy with it but it goes a long way towards describing what I think is a good and safe multihull sailing philosophy. We enjoy our last day at Little Cayman Island where we "borrow" some bikes and explore...we see the famous Blue Iguana and I show you some quality 💩😂 We sail back in the HH catamaran at awesome speed flying the Gennaker for half the trip. If you are really keen on equipment on boats I do a bit more of a review about bow thrusters on catamarans and the tensioning of the stays on the HH55 as well as look at more cool gear on the boat. At the time of the making of this episode SV Ohana-Uli is missing off the east coast of Africa and I say my bit about some types of modern catamarans that should not be taken out of the Caribbean. I am not criticising this cruising couple, I am criticising the cat manufacturers who are giving you guys out there more and more unseaworthy catamarans that are more akin to house boats than sailing vessels. This whole street has Airconditioning. It is the Katara Plaza in Katara Cultural Village in Qatar, the Middle East. We check out the Airconditioned street and then tour all of Katara Cultural Village. In Katara Plaza, apart from the outdoor Air Conditioning, you will also find Galleries Lafayette, the famous department store chain from France. We then head out of Katara Plaza to admire the Children's mall, a huge building in the shape of a big Gift. From there we pass by Al Gannas, the Qatar Hunting Association. Along the way we pass Tasty Street, the soon to open Street Food areas within Katara Cultural Village. Of course there is a lot of information on the Beach of Katara Cultural Village. Showing you the white beach sand as well as the rules and entrance fees of the Katara Beach. We find lots of different restaurants and cafe's along the way, such as Le Vesuvio, Sukar Pasha, Chac'Late, BOHO Social, La Gelateria Fina, Dutch Poffertjes and Usha Frshka. Of course we check out the Amphitheater, maybe the most impressive feature of all of Katara Cultural Village. Then we pass by the Golden Mosque, the main Katara Mosque, the Pigeon Towers and the beautiful parks called Katara Hills. And Katara Hill North even boasts a beautiful fresh water stream running down the gentle slopes. Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach in Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony with our 4 kids, just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon
Umadum set sail for the next ocean crossing - from Brazil to Tobago. From he South Atlantic Ocean to the North Atlantic Ocean. It was about 2500 nautical miles from Salvador de Bahia to Tobago. The first 500 miles along Brazilian coast we had to tack hard on the wind against wind and current. Luckily our perfomance sailing catamaran is very light and sails well to windward. It was very light wind and it was easy without big waves. We knew it was a racing in progress from France to Brazil. It was Transat Jacques Vabre, the bi-annual double-handed 4,350-mile race, the longest and toughest transat in the sailing calendar, it took them from Le Havre to Salvador de Bahia. We met 5 or 6 of those racing boats. They were doing 15 to 20 knots, we made 8 to 10 knots. So as soon as you saw them on AIS first time – in the next 10 minutes they were here. A bit scary… especially at night. After the cape Cape São Roque we had south-easterly winds – it was from behind and it was easy sailing again. As nearer we came to the Intertropical Convergence Zone, where two weather systems meet, it was very squally weather. The wind picked up sometimes up to 35 knots and it was fast sailing. And then we has days and days with no wind and incredible heat – the typical doldrums pattern. After 15 days offshore sailing we made it to the Caribbean! We dropped our anchor in the Caribbean getaway Tobago in the lovely bay of Charlotteville. For us it was and it is the best island in the whole Caribbean. A pristine and unspoilt Caribbean gem. Friendly people, white beaches, wonderful music - Tobago steeldrums, good fishing. We went for a Tobago island tour to capture the beauty of this paradise. It’s the least touristy island in the caribbean and we loved it. And wait for one of our next films – you wil see the famous Tobago carnival. This video is about Leeway - City Sailing
This video explains how to work out Course to Steer and is part of the City Sailing tutorial videos. To steer a navigation course, you will need to follow these steps: Determine your starting point and your desired destination. Determine the distance and direction between your starting point and your destination. You can do this by using a nautical chart or GPS. Determine the speed and direction of the current and the wind, as these factors will affect your navigation course. Choose a heading that will take into account the factors above, and plot your course on the nautical chart. You may need to adjust your course periodically to account for changes in the wind or current. Monitor your progress using your GPS, chartplotter, or visual landmarks, and make any necessary adjustments to your course. Always keep a lookout for other vessels and navigational hazards. Remember, it's important to be familiar with navigation rules and regulations in your area, as well as any local hazards or restrictions that may affect your navigation course. It's also important to have the necessary safety equipment on board, including life jackets, communication devices, and navigation lights.

On my sailing courses, when women sailors says that something is very difficult, I claim that the word "difficult" actually means "fun"! Don't expect yourself to be perfect at once, or ever! If you think you can, you can do it. 0:00 Intro 0:14 Many women on my courses worry a lot 1:02 "Difficult" means that you have not excercised enough yet 2:05 If you say "difficult" to yourself, it becomes difficult 2:50 I wish a had something magic to say 3:27 I would love to discuss this with you!

A collage of scenes from the 154 videos released so far. It details the build and clearly demonstrates the improvement in camera work as we went on!! Building a cruising sailboat. This is the story of the building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. The videos are a week-by-week record of the build as it progresses and aim to show as much detail as possible of the various aspects of the build. These videos take a lot of time and effort to make, in what is already a time-intensive project. Your support in watching, subscribing and sharing these videos is very much appreciated. You make a real difference!! The middle of October marks a milestone for me, as it was this time last year that I made the move from land to water. For me, it`s been a great year. Join me on my look back at the family and friends that have joined me and made this year special, and also the sailing, walking and generally living the dream life. I hope that you will enjoy

If a new boat is on your wish list, we’ve got you covered! It's true that sailing is more popular than ever but it’s not yet too late to join our Jeanneau family and live the dream everyone is talking about! This past weekend, we hosted our Get To Know Jeanneau event at our headquarters in Annapolis. Our team and dealers got to spend one-on-one time with our clients and owners exploring all the features of our sailboats in an intimate setting. We enjoyed meeting everyone and we’re already looking forward to the next event! __________________________________________________________________ Since 1957, Jeanneau has been dedicated to building quality boats for those of us who share a passion for being on the water. Today, Jeanneau is a global leader in yacht production — Big boats, small boats, power, and sail. Wherever there is water, you will find people enjoying their Jeanneaus. Our channel “The World of Jeanneau” offers just a taste of the many, many experiences to be had worldwide.
