So when Daphy first came out of the water we got busy and did loads of the things that were on our to do list. Such as replacing the standing rigging, servicing the running rigging, fix the water leak on the calorifier, replace the hoses on the head ordering new sails and so on. Then of course COVID took over all our lives again so nothing happened for 3-4 months. But after what seems like forever we are now allowed back out again, so we quickly finished off the hull, fitted a new folding prop and of course the new sails, and launched Daphy ready for what we hope will be a great year of sailing. We are Happy to introduce our latest creation!! The Cherry Cordial Cocktail. Let us know what you think! Simple and tasty. Ryan calls it the Chocolate Covered Cherry This magical alcoholic beverage, much like many of the other liquid treats we’ve mixed up, uses simple measurements and only three ingredients. Nothing too complex that you can’t try it out at home for yourself. If you want us to make one for you, well then just show the heck up! Recipe for 1: - 1.5 oz Nutz & Rum Liqueur - 1.5 oz Drambuie - .5 oz Cherry Brandy Shake lots and lots till you have a nice, cold slush going. Then strain the liquid into a stylish, V-shaped glass that is the appropriate size for an apéritif or digestif. The delicate drinkware we used came from a thrift shop from Lauren’s most recent New York trip - a whole buck for the pair! Hard to believe they didn’t break on the way down. Don’t go out and buy new stuff- there is an amazing array of funky, handcrafted tableware just sitting around waiting to be up-cycled. Cocktail Garnish: Chocolate shreds right on top! And maybe plop a maraschino cherry in if you fancy it. We were thrilled to use Crayfish Bay Organics http://crayfishbayorganicchocolate.com/ It's tree-to-bar chocolate. Their chemical free cocoa beans are charcoal roasted on their estate, where the product is seen to completion. It's incredibly impressive! Not shown: We didn’t add a cherry, but we did sink a small bit of cherry juice for a little extra bit of visual interest at the bottom of the glass. The result is a romantic, very enticing, creamy rose-hued beverage…almost of the color of strawberry ice cream. This drink is tasty, and it yields 3.5 oz of alcohol. Our youngest Sink or Swim member, Koby, goes kayaking for the first time through the mangrove forest near where our boats live. Newbie wannabe pirates invest in a few boats, we have a Mirror Dinghy, Bruce Roberts 34, Top Hat 25 Mk1, Timber Hull 23 Alan Rice, and a 14 foot Catamaran which we are repairing, sailing around going on adventures. We are based in Adelaide, South Australia and are new to sailing so we are learning as we go, what an amazing ride stay tuned as we get up to mischief, have a laugh and go on some crazy adventures. In this episode we visit the island of Koufanisi, a beautiful island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean sea, Greece. We spend a night in an amazing bay on the North East of the island but then move to the town bay as strong winds are forecast and the first bay gets quite rough. At the town bay we make a fixing to an underwater mooring. Ty, Kim and Syd describe what it was like to rebuild her, and also undertake probably the largest lithium battery installation ever on a sailboat. They go with Tesla batteries, and have added 5000W of solar to charge their huge battery bank, which supplies the boat with power through their 15kW Victron inverter! #82 Traversée, Mercury island-Walvis bay Plus que 170 milles jusqu’à Walvis bay. En ne partant pas trop tard, nous pouvons espérer y être demain avant la fin de journée et ce matin, la nature nous gâte ! Avant de disparaitre dans la masse cotonneuse matinale, les ergs sont sublimés par le soleil levant qui s’opalise progressivement en donnant un aspect laiteux à tout notre espace ! L’océan et le ciel se confondent. Comme des ombres dans la nuit, venus de nulle part, des escadrons de corps ailés outrepassent la nébuleuse en s’évaporant aussi subtilement qu’ils sont apparus, et la mer délicate, se lisse, douce et réflectrice, elle laisse paraitre, subtilement, des millions de méduses, les ailerons des Heaviside’s Dolphin et les nageoires de nos curieuses gymnases ! Elles sont vraiment drôles, en suspension entre deux eaux, elles semblent pratiquer un cours de yoga, comment pourrait-on appeler ça ? La posture de l’otarie ! Flegmatiques, elles s’étirent d’un même côté, de la palme arrière à la nageoire avant, se laissent dériver et quand nous sommes un peu trop proches, d’un bond, se dressent, observent et avec leur frimousse questionneuse replongent intriguées de la rencontre qu’elles viennent de faire ! La plus grande partie de la journée se fait au moteur, les milles défilent, et bientôt, la limite du courant du Benguela sera dépassée… Notre rendement ne sera pas suffisant pour arriver de jour, mon capitaine me le confirme. Pour pouvoir dormir tranquille, nous nous sommes écartés de 20 milles de la côte, résultat, nous devrions poser notre ancre vers 22 heures ce soir mais cet ajournement ne nous dérange pas outres mesures, ce qui nous chiffonne plus, ce trouve du côté mécanique ! Moi qui croyais que nous serions pénards un moment, fût-il bien court ! Vous est-il déjà arrivé de vous focaliser sur un bruit ? Vous savez ce petit bruit vicieux qui cherche à vous angoisser ! Oui c’est bien celui-ci, celui qui claque et qui énerve ! Eh bien voilà, il y est arrivé, il a tracassé mon Tchoupi ! Il n’est pas non plus inconnu, n’empêche qu’il est doué pour semer le doute et envoyer mon technicien à la cale… Le son vient bien de la direction qui demande à être resserrée, rien de grave mais suffisamment agaçant pour trouver un remède quand nous serons en escale. Débordant sur une petite vérification de routine des moteurs, une échappée d’huile au niveau d’une purge des Sail drive et une fumée blanche au niveau de l’extraction d’eau ont bien failli me démoraliser mon bébé, mais après vérification sur notice, l’huile fugueuse serait un trop plein et la fumée, d’après notre théorie, une réaction normale chaud-froid ! 14 heures, le vent vient de chasser le brouillard, le ciel reprend une bonne mine, l’heure estimée d’arrivée n’a pas changée, nous sommes sous voiles en ciseaux. Nous prenons du plaisir à naviguer, à contempler cette nature iodée… Une protubérance sableuse de plus de quatre milles protège la baie de Walvis, un mille et demi avant son extrémité, un phare prévient du danger, nous le doublons au ponant dans l’accélération d’un vent portant. Le banc de sable défile. Derrière, notre abri nous attend ! Avant que la nuit soit totale, nous arrivons au loin, à distinguer des sortes de plateformes disgracieuses et les grues représentatives des ports de commerces, puis, plus que des ombres et les lumières portuaires, presque éblouissantes quand on doit se diriger dessus au virement de bord, mais ce qui est le plus déplaisant, c’est maintenant, le vent de face que nous devons affronter pour atteindre notre mouillage en évitant les cargos à l’ancre, des fois sans éclairages ! Notre Blacky, qui depuis Lüderitz pouvait se vanter de ne pas avoir sur son pont, un embrun, se retrouve submergé d’eau aussi salée que froide ! Nous mettrons deux heures à nous enfoncer au plus sud de la baie pour être protéger …. Au petit matin, la miroitance de notre ancrage est si inattendu que nous avons l’impression d’avoir rêvé…

Please use the YouTube app.", download the YouTube app and watch the video in the app. We are posting #TrawlerSpins on our YouTube channel to make it easier for you to view these 360 images. Please try it out, we think this is a great method to give you, the viewer, control over what you see. JMYS has been using 360 images on our listings for the last couple of years and discovered this process which allows us to connect all of the 360 images together to provide a more cohesive tour and plays like a short movie. Each area completes a 360 rotation for a short time before automatically going to the next location. You can watch it as a video, or pause the screen to take control of the image look all around. Play around and you’ll see that these 360’s allow you to look in every direction – left, right, above, below – as if you are actually aboard. You can look closer and zero in on the details of interest and easily skip to the next location. Please think of this as a photo album that is not a collection of one directional images that you have to click on one at a time. This process is easier, faster and a more efficient way for you to spend your time versus the old method of clicking on 360 photos one at a time and waiting for them to load. There is background music instead of voice overs so that you can jump around without missing anything. Hopefully you’ll agree this is a cool new way for you to view our listings and gives you the ability to stop and look around, or to let it flow seamlessly room to room.
