Als es aus dem Hafen von Bagekop an der Südspitze Langelands wieder Richtung Heimathafen gehen sollte, erwartete und auflandiger Wind mit steilen Wellen direkt vor der Hafeneinfahrt. Wir hatten das Großsegel im Reff schon im Hafen gesetzt, draußen wäre das auch nahezu unmöglich gewesen. So waren die ersten Minuten des Schlags eine echte Achterbahnfahrt, erst als wir etwas Abstand zur Küste gewonnen hatten beruhigte sich die Lage wieder etwas. Allerdings nicht bevor Jessi und Nina eine volle Dusche von der Ostsee bekommen hatten. Das Umziehen unter Decke tat sein übriges, so dass die beiden schnell Seekrank wurden. Finally we made it! Today we are installing the sailboat upgrade which will change our Boat life. It is the last but probably most important part of our sailboat refit. We have been working on our boat for over a month now, concluding 5 different boat projects and boat works which will allow us to stay off-grid for very long times. This last sailboat upgrade is about out new lithium batteries 🔋 lithium batteries from Battle Born Batteries which will allow us to work remotely from everywhere and fullfill our digital nomad dream on board. There are still some concerns about Lithium batteries but we are convinced that we made the best choice as lithium batteries have evolved a lot in the last years and in our opinion lithium batteries are the best solution for sailboats and life-aboards. Hello! In this video, we’re still in the boatyard in Almerimar and we continue with our boat jobs - including repainting the hull and repainting our boot stripe. We polish up the prop and apply a special prop antifouling to it as well. We take some time away from the boatyard to go and explore the surrounding area and take a trip up to the hills, to check out a cute village, some archeological ruins and take a hike in the forest. We also go and visit a beautiful botanical garden, which couldn’t be more of a contrast to the shipyard. After a gruelling 3 weeks on the hard, we splash again! St Croix in the Virgin Islands is largest of the USVIs and the diving here is a huge attraction and pull.
