There are a number of refuelling stations throughout the islands and along the coast. Check with your charter company before you leave the marina where the best place for refuelling will be for your return. Remember the majority of charter yachts will be returning to the marina on Friday afternoon before disembarking on Saturday morning, so fuel stations will be busy. Denna del handlar om kylsystemet. Vi rengör filtret i det yttre systemet, och byter impellern som driver runt sjövattnet. Sedan byter vi kylvattnet i det inre systemet, och rengör värmeväxlaren. Om det är vår, har din inombordsmotor varit vinterkonserverad med glykol i det yttre kylsystemet. Även om du använt propylenglykol, sk miljöglykol, är det bästa att du tömmer ut den och lämnar glykolen till en miljöstation innan du sjösätter. Gör på samma sätt som när du fyller systemet med glykol, och häng en hink under avgasröret. I denna serie: Del 1 beskriver flödet av diesel, olja och kylvatten genom motorn. This week we enjoy more of the Scottish islands fabulous scenery when we head from Craobh Haven to Oban via Luing Sound. Oban has the nicest facilities we have used so far. The showers are huge with unlimited hot water, no push buttons here. They do have limited opening times which have been further restricted by Covid measures but very clean. There is excellent access to shops of all kinds but no chandlers, although you can easily get to the one at Dunstaffnage by bus. We stock up with food then head over to the Isle of Kerrera for a 12 mile hike to Gylen Castle where we managed to fly the drone to show you some lofty views. From here we ventured up the sound of Mull to Tobermory, which was our best sail yet. We are two very happy sailors. This time I take care of the Gelcoat boat repair on my Macgregor V21 swing keel project. for this boat repair project its time for new gelcoat this is a complete rebuild up from the steal core you can see the earlier videos on faring, fiberglass layup and filling/shaping the core as well. this is my first time using gelcoat this boat project went well over all and I'm happy with the repair. I was really surprised that the main dining room experience has not changed significantly after covid. The tables are spread out and there is social distancing. The menus are now on your phone via a QR code, but everything else is the same amazing service that I have expected with Royal Caribbean over the past 15 years.

We have been trying to spend as much time on the water as possible to build on our sailing experience. Phuket Thailand has really been a gem of a location to get out there on the water and learn how to sail. The eastern side of the island is very protected from all sides and the area is extremely well charted. Koh Khai Nok is the second island in the chain that normally has 100s power boats and can attract up to a 1000 partying tourist to the two small islands at any given time. But now during Covid times these island are basically baron and a great little 24 mile, out and back, day journey for us. I feel learning by doing ends up teaching you more when you make a mistake than when everything goes fine. We ran into a problem when we attempted to put up the code 0 sail. We have learned so much from our friends that we have meet. We have found sailors to love to share their information and knowledge to us rookies. During the whipping around of the Code 0 in 15 to 20 knots winds I was relaxed and took my time as our friend Hubert had taught us during our semi-regular nightly hang out sessions. His exact words were; slow down, relax and come up with a plan and the do it, safely. His advice was gold. We hope you enjoy this weeks adventure!
